We spent nearly 6 hours here, so I'd recommend booking your visit in the morning or early afternoon to ensure you have ample time to explore and soak in everything. It's worth noting that some shops and restaurants close around 6:30 pm, so arriving early is advisable. As a devoted Harry Potter fan, this experience is an absolute must if you're visiting Japan. It provides an incredible behind-the-scenes look into the magical world. I'm certainly planning to return, and next time, I'll be sure to bring my wand and Hogwarts robe with me. Additionally, the merchandise available here is absolutely incredible. They even have plushies featuring characters that aren't very popular, like Mrs. Norris, Fang, and Fluffy, so be prepared to be pleasantly surprised!

We thought this would be a cute little "walk down memory lane" from the movies...it was absolutely incredible! The entire experience will take at least 4 hours but we were there longer enjoying the exhibits, the Butter Beer, and the gift shops. Costumes, set replication in real size, getting to know the details of the movie making processes - you name it, there is an aspect of the tour meant just for you (child, adult, child at heart, etc). It is truly a memorable exhibition. Note: Tickets/reservations are required in advance, food is plentiful and not expensive, and we would skip the audio tour.

This place exceeded all my expectations. Even people who don't know the Harry Potter stories very well found the tour impressive. So many things to see and experience. You can easily spend over 4 hours there if you want to look at everything in detail. We went at 2pm on a Sunday and it didn't feel very crowded although it did take a while to wait in line for the broom ride (at around 6pm). Definitely worth the wait. We were able to find a table at the restaurant inside the tour area despite it being quite busy at around 4pm. Most visitors were adults but our 9-year-old and his friend both enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended!

Videos and pictures can't do this place justice. The details and craftsmanship are remarkable. It starts out slow and guided for the first 10-20 minutes but quickly opens up to a self guided tour. Rushing through, 1-2 hours. If you pay attention to every exhibit, plan for 4-6 hours including food and shopping. You could honestly spend 8 hours in here from front door to departure. Whether you're a fan of Harry Potter or film industry in general, you will be thoroughly impressed.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter is a must-visit for die-hard Harry Potter fans! The attention to detail in the actual movie props is stunning, showcasing the labor and dedication in filmmaking. The exhibition impresses with its lighting and composition. Authentic merchandise is available before the tour, and there's a convenient restaurant break mid-route. Limited lockers are provided, so book tickets in advance and aim for a morning slot. Dressing up as a wizard adds an extra layer of fun for magical photo moments. Highly recommended for an enchanting experience!

We absolutely LOVED the Warner Brothers Making of Harry Potter Tour. We loved the headsets- they gave a lot of interesting facts and tidbits to look at and read about while waiting in various lines throughout the experience. The set designs, props, costumes- all of it was just mind blowing. Everything had English as well, which was wonderful being we are Americans currently living in Japan. The food and drinks offered were wonderful and the photo opportunities were plentiful. We could have easily spent the entire day here- plan on at LEAST 4 to 5 hours if you truly want to see and experience everything! The store is amazing and has every single house item and gadget you could possibly imagine! Be prepared to spend money if you love Harry Potter!

First of all, it will be interesting only if you are a Harry Potter series Fans. Buy tickets now so that you could visit the place at least 2months from now. Get Harry Potter cloak to enjoy all the videography inside the studio. Before entering tour, buy Magic wand if you want to buy. Merchandise was very costly, so be prepared. Everything was great and happy with the setup. If you need any other information, please don’t hesitate to ask.

We had a WONDERFUL time here. But be prepared because it is huge! It took over 3 hours to move through all of the areas. It's so large that there is a cafe offering snacks and refreshments halfway through! Tickets must be purchased in advance and are not available on location. I would arrive a few minutes early because there was a decent queue to get through security. There are audio guides available in multiple languages for ¥1200 each (they were ok, but I don't think they were entirely necessary). There is a free coat check on site as well, but the line was quite long (maybe 10-15 minutes) so pack light to avoid using it if possible. Lastly - the gift shops (yes, multiple) are ridiculously large. They sell pretty much anything you can imagine from the Harry Potter films, and a decent (but much smaller) selection from the Fantastic Beasts films. Prices were actually pretty reasonable, compared to similar venues in the United States.

Harry Potter studio is a new world in itself . So much detailing and precision is explained in a very efficient and effective way. It transforms the view all together of watching the movie. The hard work of the crew is reflected in. Each and every prop and scene relates to the movie and revives the memory. The cafe is amazing with good quality food in a good Hogwarts ambience . The frog cafe is no doubt to be missed. The butter bear is the best of all recommended ones . You can take cup back home as a souvenir 😊. The broom ride is next level . All in all it is worth once a visit 👍.

This was an awesome experience for a Harry Potter fanatic like me. I was absolutely mind blown by all the props, costumes, sets, the behind-the-scenes stuff of all the Harry Potter movies. Everything was so accurate, the sets literally brought me into the movies! I think I spent around an hour inside the gift shop. A tip is to reserve the gift shopping first, and take your time because the shop is HUGE! And if you miss some items in the shop, there are two more shops within the tour, and exiting the tour will bring you back to the first gift shop. No need to worry about language barriers, as everywhere there is English and Japanese. Within the tour, there are many things relating to the behind the scenes of the Harry Potter movies, and there are multiple fun activities you can do, like recording a video of riding a broomstick. There are so many photo opportunities, almost at every turn. You HAVE to reserve at least 4-5 hours on the tour. I ended up spending around 6 and a half hours inside! Another tip is to try the Butterbeer! It's non-alcoholic, and very sweet. Also, take a look at what special foods are available at the Cafe, it changes depending on the time of year. I definitely recommend this tour for any Harry Potter fans.

How they say magical, it was just that. It felt like a once in a lifetime experience to go inside and see all the different designs, costumes, props, etc. for the movie and just how much thought and work went into them. We bought robes beforehand and wands to go through the tour just to get that extra immersion when walking. They had an abundance of scenes and places to take pictures, as well as the gift shop having so much to offer before and after the tour. I honestly would go again just to have fun and relax. There’s a restaurant inside as well as before you walk in the actual tour. British type food, didn’t know what to expect but not too shabby. Highly recommend to Harry Potter fans, and it being in Japan did not hinder the experience at all. If I’m being honest everyone was so nice and welcoming it made it better.

Great fun with lots of props. Non Japanese speaking friendly. The total tour can take longer than most people expect upwards of 4h so be ready for that! Brings drinks with you to stay hydrated. Lots of fun opportunities to get pictures in interactive set etc.

Bought the ticket online , 6300 yen/adult. Be prepared to walk a lot as the whole tour is around 4 hours. As you walked along, you stop to have a look, see, take photos , recalling a particular Harry Potter movie that you have watched before, try the interactive displays, admire the sets ,props, costumes, special effects, sound effects. Before departing, do some shopping or window shop at the Studio Tour shop. Finally sit down at the food hall to have lunch/dinner.

I suppose most reviewers have already said everything there is to say so I'll try to say something that's not: 1. It's OK to visit if you're not a HP fan but it can get boring. 2. It's probably just some things to tell folks about the visit but I will not revisit again since I'm not really a HP fan. 3. You don't need to rent the digital guide but I think hardcore fans should consider it since there's some extra stuff you might not know and there's also videos on the guide to watch. 4. You can't really hang around in the beginning areas (the main hall) as the staff will herd you out after about 15min to let the next group in. 5. The merchandise can be very pricey but you don't get many of them out of the studio itself (not even in USJ). 6. If you are a group and plan on buying videos of the flying on broomstick with green screens, you only need to pay 1 price (¥5000 at time of writing) for everyone doing the same video so your group can share the cost. 7. Staff have limited English and often feel like they are disinterested to help except for some reluctant smiles and awkward facial expressions. I guess they most be overworked doing that same routines in the studios. 8. There's a really nice coffee place nearby - see my other review for it.

I had an amazing experience in this place and there are interesting facts about the film you'll only learn in the studio tour. I love the immersive experiences of some of the attractions too! Some of the outside attractions are also best to be viewed at night. However, I regretted that I wasn't able to try the food in the food hall by the time we finished the tour because the staffs were already closing by 7:30 pm (We booked the 3:30 pm slot btw). Best to book an earlier time if you want to maximize the experience of your tour. ⚡️

The Making of Harry Potter is a must-visit for any Potterhead or Harry Potter fan. Offering an exclusive peek behind the scenes, it unveils secrets and perspectives that enhance the magic. Reliving iconic Harry Potter moments adds a nostalgic touch to the experience. Highly recommended for those seeking to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of wizardry.

The studio recreates places of interest as depicted in the HP film series. What I like best are the Ministry of Magic and the Great Hall. There are no thrilling rides, but there are interactive activities such as shooting your video, which is then broadcast in an empty frame and becomes one of the artworks in the Moving Staircase area. Videos and pictures from the green screen experience riding a broomstick will cost you almost the same price as the entrance fee for adults. Don’t expect much from the video since it obviously looks fake. You riding the broomstick look like an unwanted giant gnat on the TV screen that people want to swat away. The studio may consider improving the video quality OR giving the option of buying just the pictures’ digital and printout copies. If you purchase the green screen experience package, have lunch or some snacks inside, and buy a Hogwarts student robe and wand, you’re looking at spending more or less ¥25,000 per head on top of the ticket price. Visiting here once may be enough, so make the most of your visit. Tips: 1. Scan the QR code, register your email, and create an account. Get it out of the way as soon as you can. All your pictures and videos from the tour will be stored in that account. 2. Do away with the paid digital guide. It eventually becomes a nuisance, and the information signs are enough for knowing some details about the series’ behind-the-scenes. 3. Buy your wand and robe before starting the tour. Those are souvenirs meant to be used while inside the studio. 4. Take small breaks and sit down whenever possible. 5. Bring water or any bottled drink. It’s allowed inside.

Great experience for Harry Potter fans. You get to really see the behind the scenes and feel like you’re in the movie sets. You can easily spend 3-5 hours here. They have free coat check and luggage storage though the lineup for that can for long. After you get in there are some brief introduction videos you watch as a group before they let you off to explore on your own. There are numerous photo and video opportunities all over, for example a group quidditch audience scene (you do have to scan a QR code and register). At the end of the tour there are gift shops, a cafe and restaurant as well.

Advance purchase of tickets is a must. The gift shops are located inside the building, thus, you definitely need a ticket to access it. Crowd was manageable as it was all timed-entry. The attraction is located within walking distance to the train station. I visited the attraction in the afternoon and left in the evening. It was truly an amazing experience being able to see the surroundings in the day, as well as after the sun has set!

Fabulous tour for Harry Potter (and Fantastic Beasts) fans. Folks who are not die-hard fans would also appreciate the movie-making processes detailed in this studio tour. Not only do we get to see the props, set designs and costumes, we are also treated to sneak peeks of the ins and outs of the film industry and how it has progressed over the years. Artists, sound engineers, prop makers, puppet masters, costume designers, music composers… came together to build this empire that is the Harry Potter brand. Their devotion to artistry, creation and magic is clearly evident. I was with my 10yo daughter who’s a Harry Potter fan. We each got a digital guide which I felt really gave us another dimension to what we saw during the tour. It is not simply looking ant the props but understanding the anecdotes and stories behind it all. Anyone who loves a good story and can appreciate the sheer ensemble of cast that went into creating works of art should go. Food at the Backlot Cafe was really quite decent too. All in all, a day well spent. Plan to spend a good 3-5 hours there if you plan to have lunch at the cafe.
