I'd seen lots of pictures, but they don't do it justice due to the interesting angles of the landscape! A very dramatic coastline and a beautiful place. You need to walk along a forest path to get down to the lighthouse. The walk back up is tougher than you expect, but very worth the effort!

Great view! Great sound! The path is not difficult for walking but slippery after rain.

MUST SEE THIS LANDSCAPE! REMARKABLE. for walking traveller: its far from Fukue main street. from fort, there are only 4-5 buses a day. Its took a 1.5h by bus, then, from bus station to light house you have to walk along a slope way over 1h. (I recommend hitchhiking) But if you have a car, Absolutely no problem.

The viewpoint on top of the hill overlooking the lighthouse and all the islands is superb, one of the best I have been to in Japan and better than the lighthouse itself.
