Best dining experience in Nara! It’s a bite size creation of fusing Japanese foods and Italian inspiration. It was very unique experience and everything was yummy! There’s several wine selection. I saw this place in japanese tv and wanted to try. And happy that I got to. Nara machi establishments for dinner is hard to get in without reservations. But you can pop in this one!

What a find in Nara just back from the hideous tourist march. Open earlier than most and a welcome retreat from the summer heat at the end of the day. Modern delights refreshing decor relaxed music. Wish Mikado was at home

I must say I found this place quite by accident and luckily I only wanted a little snack. Well I lucked out. The food was the perfect amount of delicious morsels. Excellent wine and amazing service. Perfect for an upscale quick snack while wandering and getting lost.

We arrived at Mikado looking for a bite to eat and we were greeted with one of the best experiences ever. The pinchos were executed on a level we’ve only seen in some of the finest restaurants in the world. Chef Kosuke wowed us with every bite. His English menu helped us decide easily what to order and his service was friendly and prompt. This is a must visit while in Nara.

Fantastic food, looks like art and tastes perfekt! Great sake from Nara and the restaurant is very nicely decorated. Would love to come back!

Beautiful interior, gorgeous food (pinchos, comparable to tapas). Creative kitchen, the food is very tasty. And the service lovely. Really can recommend it!

Excellent ! Great cuisine and nice service. open late for lunch, which is not the case of many many other restaurants in the area although they appear as open on maps.
