Beautiful location and excellent food. We had dinner and tried both Kobe and wagyu menu. They were both very very good. The chef cooking in front of you is very kind and he knows his job. Well done. Bravo, bravo, bravo.

Exquisite dining experience in a 10-seat restaurant with a delightful staff and a friendly and funny teppanyaki chef. We had the Kobe beef filet and sirloin and it did not disappoint. The softest and most delicious beef we’ve ever had, prepared simply with salt and pepper and cooked right in front of you. All of the courses were amazing from the appetizers to the salad to the fried rice made with the fatty corners of the meat we ordered. The desserts were also wonderful. Probably the best meal we’ve had in our lives.

We didn’t make any reservations but they were able to slot us in before another booking which was really nice. We had the Kobe beef set. The quality was good, melts in your mouth. Staff were attentive and bubbly. We really enjoyed our experience. At first I was a bit worried there were many foreigners in the restaurant (including ourselves) - as it may appear to be a tourist trap. But then we also saw local customers coming in later; and to be honest, even just with us tourists in there we were satisfied with what we got and would love to go back again. 5/5

Very good experience. Impeccable service. Intimate atmosphere. Only 2 chefs cook at the same time. The products are of high quality. The beef is tender. The garlic chips can be eaten at the same time as the piece of beef. A treat for the palate. The menu includes a starter, beef and dessert. We took the shrimp supplement option. I recommend this restaurant, popular with Western tourists.

Chef Yokota Toru is a master of his craft. Got the A5 wagyu sirloin and shrimp, perfectly cooked. Best steak I’ve had. Highly recommend.

This place is really not worth the price and it's borderline scam. The restaurant was half empty and all customers were foreign tourists before and after we arrived on a Sunday night. Each set costs about 10 - 20k yen but the food quality and quantity are both really bad.

Ignore any reviews that say it isn’t worth it. Lovely chefs and amazing dinner. You’ll have some of the best beef in the world. The whole set was delicious - so balanced and tasty. Basically just delightful, and the amount of food just right so that you leave full and happy.

Had a reservation for their restaurant in the other location. Tablecheck even asked me to confirm yesterday if I was attending Arrived and a notice saying its moved to the gion area which is this restaurant. Please ammend your reservations online. Very disappointed

We showed up to the restaurant on a whim to try and secure a reservation as soon as we arrived in Kyoto. Fortunately they had availability that afternoon, so we returned later on, excited for our first time trying Kobe beef! The staff were very friendly, attentive, informative and cheery! We tried Kobe and Wagyu beef which were both incredible, the Kobe beef in particular was melt in your mouth amazing. All the sides went perfectly and the wine was also great. The atmosphere was very relaxed and calm (very small restaurant), but we loved the interactive experience of our food being cooked Infront of us and our chef explaining everything to us and advising on best choices etc. Would highly recommend!

They were able to fit 6 of us in as long as we were out in time of a reservation. We were blown away with the cook and quality of the dishes. I ordered the wagyu course (12,000 yen) and was very impressed with everything. I would reccomend trying Kobe (20,000 yen) beef for the first time. But the wagyu is definitely more worth the price. They have English menus and are tourist friendly! Our chef was lovely.

They have a limited seating space so it would be great to book in advance, but they do entertain walk-ins (if there isn’t much of a queue). Waiting could be around 20+ minutes. That said, the food is DIVINE. It’s kinda pricey but they offer cheaper meal sets. They end the lunch session at 2 PM so be there well beforehand!

We got lunch here, we tryed Kobe filet (14.000 JP¥) and A5 filet (6.000 JP¥). To be honest, the Kobe was good, but not as good as the A5. A5 had bether marbeling and richer taste. And kobe beeing more then 2x as expensive, not worth it unless its on your bucketlist. But the place is realy good, friendly staff and all around good/high quality service. Book in advance for evening, for lunch booking is offen not required.

A great place, the people are very friendly and detail-oriented, and it is hypnotic to see how they prepare the food with absolute mastery. Plus, the food is delicious, it's definitely worth it. When I return to Kyoto I will return!

Was lucky enough to get second seating. Had a good old laugh with chef. Staff was great. The beef was melt in mouth stuff. Made a surprise birthday dessert dish for my wife.

Small, intimate steakhouse that serves up delicious cuts of meat. What’s not to love? The staff was great and our chef was wonderful too. Steak melts in your mouth. An amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto. We went for lunch and were able to sit right away, which was a nice bonus. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu either! 10/10!

Incredible service, meal and overall experience. The chef and host/owner were both very friendly, are both English-speaking and made our entire night feel very special; including accommodating some dietary requests. 100% recommended!

If you like to get more than you expect… this is the place! Extremely Pleasant staff and delicious food. Ordered lobster and scallops extra… they were devine… and cooked to perfection right in front of us.

A5 wagyu is always nice, but I'm giving it four stars since I've had better for the same price. The fried rice was tasty. We asked for a sake recommendation and what we got was delicious, but when we saw the bill we felt like they picked out the most expensive one on purpose without even showing us the drink menu.

Had a tablecheck reservation and was really looking forward to visiting this place. They decided to cancel the reservation last minute and upon calling them they said they don't have any seats left for tonight. Deserved 1 star.

Wonderful experience! After asking about a place for a great beef dinner, our inn suggested that we come here. We loved watching everything be made and Chef Yukio Ikawa was an amazing host. He made a huge effort to speak with us and get to know more about us even though we were obviously tourists. Would highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you want amazing beef!

Great Kobe beef, prepared really well. The portion size is small about 100-150g, but that's the usual amount given at other Kobe places in the area.

Wonderful experience. The service was amazing and the food was incredibly delightful. The Mrs (I think was the Chef and Su Chef) were very friendly, respectful and speaks decent english. Definitely can't wait to come back again. Considering the Japanese culture of respect and honor, I have no doubt of the authenticity of the Wagyu and Kobe Beef.
