👍👍 I stayed at Hotel Granvia Kyoto and it felt so good! I ate at Loco Chicken again and I want to eat there again. I might as well go there tomorrow. Station was also so good. I love Japan! People often mention Kyoto, great,

This accomodation, has not only tents (genius idea anyway), but also the rooms, we had equipped double bed room. Clean room, shared bathroom and toilets. Free towel. There is also little caffe next check-in. Close to Kyoto station. Communication with stuff is above standard, they speak excellent english. They can advise to all places in Kyoto and elsewere in Japan. Our room was above street, so little noisy through the day.

This hotel really embodies the style of Kyoto. When booking accommodation, we were not entirely sure what as europeans without j-experience we can expect in a completely foreign place, but fortunately the service turned out to be easy-going enough to get along well, and the style of this object remained despite the spirit of great Japanese design thought mixed with western facilities. The space is really friendly, cozy and made with great attention to detail. These are such small things as a foot massager, a great layout of the dining space, or very well thought out room layout. The kindness of the service and their care for small elements of the stay make you want to go back there. It's close everywhere, and most importantly - and it's not always good in Japan - the facility is warm and there is space for larger luggage (yup, I know this is not important for everyone, but this is another detail 4 me). The traditional breakfast they serve there is not only ultra-tasty, but also beautifully served. I totally recommend, a great time spend there. :)

Not only do you get to sleep in a tent, there's also a very nice sake bar on the premises. You can play old Nintendo games, there's laundry service and excellent wifi. Beware for those of you who don't like the cold as the bathrooms are one outside and one inside the first building, but still somewhat cold.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Host was wonderful and speaks fluent English. Dad works in the morning and is also friendly. We tried their sake testing and host was able to explain well about sake as he is an avid sake fan. He also shared his backpacking adventures when he was young which is quite interesting. Stay was comfortable in a tent and there are gaming facilities to use. Would recommend!

We picked this hostel for the tents, but will return for the hosts! My group and I had such a great time staying here, the facilities are clean and novel and it was such a lovely experience staying in the tent themed beds. Both the tent and dorm beds were comfortable, clean and spacious. The family who run the hostel are so friendly and welcoming and we had a great time chatting with them and they were very helpful during our brief stay in Kyoto! It is an easy walk from the station and very close to a convenience store if you need any supplies, food, or drink (although I would recommend the food and drink at the hostel). We enjoyed the home cooked Japanese breakfast and baked goods we could buy at the hostel for a good price and the overall experience was one of the highlights of our trip to. My only regret is that we didn't stay here longer! I will definitely be staying here next time I go to Kyoto.

Kyoto station base is ran by a father and his son, both of them are very conversable in English. There is sake tasting after dark where you get to try 3 different types @ only 700 yen.
