9 Tips to Tokyo City View 1. Good but not great as expected. 2. Can buy the ticket at door, ¥2000 per adult. 3. Suggest to choose the time slot during sunset. 4. At floor 54 5. Close to Tokyo tower 6. The glass view has internal light reflection at night time, that affect the night view so much. 7. There are many alternatives for sky view in Tokyo now. 8. Indoors 9. Share the same corridor with another exhibition sometimes. 10. Strongly suggest to dim down the internal main light for better overall viewing experience.

Quite expensive but the best views of Tokyo Tower that I saw. Clear view to Shinjuku as well. Not too busy on a weekday.

I love the view of Tokyo Tower from the observation deck here. It’s my favorite. Keep in mind that an extra ticket purchase is required to reach the rooftop for an outdoors, 360 degree view. The wind can be strong so keep that in mind. The temperature also drops from that height at night, even in the summer, so consider bringing an extra layer.

If you come here on a clear day or night, you'll definitely get one of the best views of Tokyo you can get. A lot of people like to go to the Tokyo Tower, but I would actually recommend that people come here. I came here on a clear night and could see pretty much all of Tokyo. If you're there in January like I was, expect it to be a bit cold and windy up top. There's also some interesting exhibits inside the observation deck. So, if you're in Roppongi and looking for a good overlook spot, I would absolutely recommend this spot.

Of course, the view is good because the building is high, but the unknown cartoon "tokyo revengers' exhibition was installed in a location with a good view, so it was the worst viewing of the observatory. The Japanese may like it, but most foreign visitors will be remembered as the worst experience. Worst ever

"Tokyo City View, nestled in Roppongi, offers an unforgettable experience coupling art exhibitions with a breathtaking 360-degree view of Tokyo. The blend of stunning cityscape and curated exhibits creates an immersive and unique atmosphere. On clear days, the sight of Mount Fuji adds an extra layer of awe to this already spectacular panorama. A must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of art, culture, and unparalleled vistas."

Amazing sky view! It's a very popular place, so definitely buy the tickets way in advance. There is a dedicated elevator to reach the observation deck.

  • 5/5 Cyril C. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely a must to go if you come near Roppongi. The sky deck cost about 500y but the view is worth it. You can have a 360 degree view on Tokyo and you can see the Mt Fuji is the sky is clear.

Overpriced for what you get in return. It's all glass and with a lot of bright lights indoors, it's hard to see clearly or take any pictures. Overall, poor viewing experience at night. They continously clean the glass for any smudges, prints...etc which is nice. Maybe a better experience during the day. Definitely do not recommend at night

More than half of the sky-deck is closed and in the few opened parts: large screens are reflected in the glass, annihilating any peace of nice view. The price however is not annihilated. Stay downstairs, the view is better.

Nice place and bit expensive observatory deck. But its worth it, you can see the entire skyview along with tokyo tower as well. If you have visited tokyo tower or skytree, then you can prefer to opt this to explore different experience. Amazing place and have enough seats to enjoy the views. Its good to visit before evening so that you can enjoy both the day time and night time city view

Out of the three observation decks I visited (government building, shibuya sky and this) this was my favourite. Managed to get there for sunset so some of the views were stunning. You can buy tickets on the day as well which is what we did.

Hell yeah. It’s sometimes good to visit observatories when in such cities. Tokyo City View is quite spacious and worth visiting although it’s over 1000 yen per visit. When it’s clear outside you will be loving the view up to Mt Fuji.

100% must see sunset spot in Tokyo! on a nice clear day you can easily see Mt. Fuji in the horizon. Found this place with only an hour to spare before sunset. Luckily got to the top observation roof (which has no windows) with literally minutes to spare. Traffic can be a huge obstacle getting in, make sure you spare time before leaving your previous location. Get off at door A when coming in and club the stairs to the top support desk. Here you can buy tickets to the observation deck (~1000-1200 yen) and an extra 500 yen for the top rooftop (worth the expense) There luckily aren’t any lines when waiting for the elevator so it should be quite easy to go up. There are some shops at the top floor but we skipped them due to time allowance. Was completely worth for the pictures!

Awesome views... plus we got discounted tickets, only 600¥ for checking the modern art museum, the city view and sky deck, etc... I'd recommend going there in the afternoon so that you don't miss the sunset

One of the good vantage points to take a photo of Tokyo Tower. The glass is a bit farther away so may cause some issues when taking photos. There's a bit of a queue to enter. Place is accessible by train.

The open air observation deck was closed during December 2023, which I was sad about. I went to this back in 2017 and I loved the open deck. Regardless, I enjoyed my view behind the glass! We had clear skies and we were able to see Mt Fuji. I would only go here if you're staying around the area or you're into exploring the Roppongi area (I feel like Roppongi is more for shopping, not really sightseeing).

I visited when there was a Tokyo Revengers exhibition. The staff was so nice she let me know that the outside view would be disrupted by the exhibition. But I assured her I was fine since I like the manga... :) The weather was quite clear so I can see Fuji mountain from afar!

This used to be one of my favourite Tokyo attractions but unfortunately since September 2023 the outdoor view deck is closed due to a suicide incident. The deck has been closed ever since for a security review with no ETA of reopening. The staff just recommend "watching the website for updates". This is very sad and at the moment the visitors are confined to admiring Tokyo from inside. It is still a beautiful view but the windows aren't very clean and if you want to take photos there are a lot of reflections. Hoping that they can sort out the security and reopen soon!

Wonderful city views, better than Tokyo tower observatory and you can have the best view of Tokyo tower. City was great at night, sparkling lights and lovely views for miles around. Really interesting, no time limit so watched day turn to night, spotted our hotel and other places we had visited. Best time is around sunset, as you can watch the city change, and on a clear afternoon get a great view of Mt Fuji. You can not use tripod at observatory deck which is located on the top of the building.

However, there is a staircase at the end after the elevator, so please check in advance if you are in a wheelchair or have a physical disability. (Translated by Google) An observatory in Tokyo that I would like to recommend to everyone except those with a fear of heights. Needless to say, the observation deck of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. The admission fee is 1,800 yen, and the sky deck is a good price of 2,300 yen including 500 yen, but it is a highly recommended place for those who like to see the sky. If you can come many times a year, suddenly the year pass is not bad (purchase the year pass until December 31, 2020). I think that you can understand the wonderfulness of this observatory only if you can stop by without worrying about the entrance fee. It's surprisingly vacant on weekday afternoons, and you can occupy the space all to yourself. If time and weather allow, go with the sky deck as a set. The temperature and wind are different from the surface of the earth, and just going to see the sunset without doing anything will be a good change. The best outlook is on a clear, sunny day, but it's not bad on a cloudy day either. Recently, it has become an airplane route to Haneda, and it flies a short distance from the sky deck. This is also a world different from what you see on the ground.

(Translated by Google) I personally think that it is the most beautiful observatory in Tokyo. Because Roppongi is close to downtown Tokyo and the observation deck is at a moderate height, you can clearly see the beautiful Tokyo Tower at night with the lights of the surrounding Tokyo downtown area. The beauty is really only realized when you see it on site. You must not miss this place when you come to Tokyo to see the night view.

The coolest view of Tokyo from one of Tokyo’s tallest building that you can see from all over Minato-Ku. Brought my little son on a rainy day to minimize waiting. Took us about 45 minutes on the cue to get to the observatory. Many interesting sights to see on the top floor aside from viewing the city. Could see our own neighborhood as well as the rest of the city, all the way to the Bay as well as amount Fuji. Lovely way to bond with your child.

Awesome view of Tokyo for sure. Make sure to go on a clear evening and the staff has the telescopes available to view the stars with. It will change your life. The tickets also give access to the museum which a wonderful too. In the winter time be sure to bring a warm jacket and the wind makes it rather cold.

Great view when the sun is setting. ***horrible view when it is completely dark outside because of the light reflection on the glass from the installations and exhibitions on the inside. I don’t understand why the organizer thought it was a good idea… If you want good pictures for only the view, try taking a picture with camera close to glass and using your hand to block out the reflection. You absolutely cannot take a picture posing with the view here because the reflections are too strong, you will never get a good photo.

The weather was great when we went so we had a great view of Tokyo. At the time of visiting there was an architectural exhibition going on that kept us even further entertained. Do not miss the sky deck. We didn’t have it as part of our ticket but it’s easy to buy the add on for an extra 500yen per person from one of the machines. The sky deck is especially worth it for at sun set as you have a 360 panoramic view. We had a drink in the bar afterwards and got to see the Tokyo skyline at night. All in all tickets are cheap so def worth it on a clear day.

Beautiful! I went when it was day and stayed a couple hours till night. I enjoyed the photos! It is dark inside and reflects on night photos so selfies and other pictures may not be as good but still worth it. Got a ticket upon arrival and it was easy. They are open late. I was able to have many windows to myself once people started navigating through. However, It is a hame of patience, people were all kind so I had no issues squeezing in to take a quick photo. All staff was kind and the desks spoke english! Would love to visit again. Sadly the top was closed.

I didn’t find the entrance particularly well signposted but it’s a nice area to wander round with lots of shops and restaurants. Once in the lobby area though things are much more organised! I hadn’t pre-purchased tickets but there were clear queuing lines for those that had, but despite being just before sunset on a Tuesday evening it took no longer than three minutes to queue and buy one there. The staff behind the desk could speak good English and there was loads of information on display regarding prices and what was included in the price. Once through the reception there’s loads of staff everywhere directing everyone to the right places and offering guidance, again in decent English. There’s plenty of descriptive signs to explain where you are and what can be seen from the various views, which adds to the educational aspect. There’s a strict limit on what can be taken to the top of the tower, so forget tripods or bottles of drink, but fortunately free lockers are provided to temporarily store everything. They aren’t the biggest and need a 100 yen coin to operate but there’s plenty available which is good. There’s two different floors available for admiring the view, the indoor section as well as the roof. The roof is an additional charge but I’d highly recommend it. Although it’s not a completely unobstructed view (there are dishes and aerials etc in the way) it’s nice to not have the glass windows in the way and it feels a lot different to other observation towers. There was a professional photographer set up in the prime spot but there was no pressure to have your photo taken which was nice. There’s some atmospheric music pipped across the floor which adds a nice atmosphere but it’s great that there’s no time limits on being out there. The floor below also offers great views across every perspective of the city. It’s a really spacious floor so even during busy times there’s no pushing or shoving to admire the view and the interior lights are dimmed at night to help prevent reflections. There’s lots of members of staff around should you need help and the facilities are plentiful and clean. I would certainly say this is a must visit place if you haven’t seen the city from above. It’s great value for money and organised well and if you can visit just before sunset it’s a wonderful way to see the city in all lights.

Along with Hong Kong, Tokyo has the most mesmerising skyline in my opinion. The Tokyo City View is by far the best place to enjoy the skyline of Tokyo and is one of my favourite places there. The view is especially impressive during sunset and at night. When I went there there were less people than I expected probably because it was a Wednesday and the weather was less than stellar. The atmosphere was amazing and I wish my friend was there drinking with me. The view was perfect - with Tokyo Tower up close and Rainbow Bridge and Daikanransha further away. It's exactly how I pictured Tokyo to be. (This might sound weird but one of the reasons I am so obsessed with the Tokyo skyline at night is Clamp's Tokyo Babylon. Ever since I read it I've always wanted to see the Tokyo skyline and Tokyo Tower at night with my own eyes. In this manga, Tokyo is depicted as a dark, cold and morally corrupted city, and the Tokyo Tower is a symbol of the corruption. The atmosphere in this manga is amazing. Highly recommended if you are a manga fan and you haven't read it yet. ) You can bring a tripod to the observatory deck, but if you want to take photos, avoid the weekends as the place can be quite crowded. You won't be able to take photos near the glass. A note for people planning to go to the rooftop Sky Deck: the only things you can bring to the rooftop are your phones and camera. Everything else have to be stored in a locker, so no tripods are allowed.

The exhibition hall is always dense, but in the final theater, the standing position is specified, and the person in front is tall and hard to see. There is no uniformity in corona prevention. Also, this can be said for Mori Art Museum and Mori Arts, but the staff's guidance is in May. Repeat the same thing all the time. Finally, he said that the Live function camera of the iPhone is also impossible. One of the most beautiful observer deck in Tokyo, you can enjoy the view all round of the Tokyo. If you already visit the Mori Art Museum just paid a bit extra for the fascinate view of Tokyo. I recommend to visit around noon till the sunset time, you can see both Fuji and Tokyo tower toward Odaiba area. Don’t forget to check the weather before visit, if the weather really not clear, you won’t be able to see the Fuji. The Sky deck is really must visit in Tokyo.

Like most tourists who've gone here, I dropped by here before visiting Mori Art Museum, and it was definitely worth the visit!! The views are great, and there weren't too many people around! Just be sure to visit when the skies are clear to get a bettet view of the city. I'll probably go back to visit at night the next time I'm in Tokyo. 🙂

A great viewpoint with interesting rotating art exhibitions. If you live around here and think you would go more than 3x per year, it is worth it to get the annual pass, which is about 6000¥, or 4 visits. If the exhibition encompasses the Tokyo City View portion of the building, then the annual pass is valid for the art exhibit as well (such as the Pixar exhibit that was there earlier this year). The annual pass also allows access to the helipad sky view for unobstructed 360 views of Tokyo's skyline. We go here a lot since its a "free activity" with our little guy.

Surprisingly good view over the Tokyo Skyline for a very fair price. Definitely would recommend over the Skytree, since you're much closer to town. Make sure to go on a day with clear visibility and no rain, though, as the best views are from the roof.

Highly recommended to come here on a clear day, maybe an hour or so before sunset. Perhaps you can check out the Mori Art Museum while you're waiting. Go up to the Sky Deck for an open-air panoramic view of the surrounding city (and catch Mount Fuji in the distance), watch the sun go down and then take in the stunning nightscape. Be sure to bring some warm clothes as it can get very cold and windy up there!

  • 5/5 Dan C. 1 year ago on Google
This was my first city view from an observatory/tower building (even outside of Tokyo if memory serves), and let me tell you, I’m glad I paid a bit more for the exhibition: not only the view was still impressive even on a foggy/cloudy day (I do recommend going when it’s sunny or a clear night however), the exhibition itself was full of information and pieces to look at and photograph. The staff answered some questions and was overall kind but attentive, ensuring that no problems would be given with the backpacks, or the sculptures could be damaged. Be prepared to either leave the backpack in a locker or have it on the front rather than the back, it’s better also to handle the many people joining at the same time. There are souvenir shops and cafes to eat up there, but really all I could think of was learning what was what via the QR codes (not always working immediately) and focusing on the architecture exhibition itself. The city view has many plans scheduled as well, for example during specific times and recurrences of the year like Tanabata (7 July), so I recommend to check them out or inquire about the current program. Overall recommended, just be ready for many people not fully leaving space to read, but that depends on whom you happen to be with in the group you join, and the staff will make sure there aren’t bad behaviors as much as they can from their end.

Breathtaking views of the beautiful city of Tokyo. Best viewpoint because you can see the other viewpoints (the beautiful Tokyo Tower and the Tokyo Skytree) in completely unobstructed way (no glass on the roof). For this you have to pay a little extra, but it's definitely worth it. Just look at the pictures.

  • 5/5 Zack M. 9 months ago on Google
Open to the air with 365 degree views of Tokyo. Seen some great views from the Empire State Building, Eiffel Tower, even the old World Trade Center. Simply the best city view I've seen and only a few bucks.

  • 4/5 Resilient Cat van D. 4 months ago on Google
Would definitely recommend, and the exhibition for Tokyo Revengers (still on til about February I think) is fine and doesn't really detract from anything, BUT where the exhibition is, it's right in the side of the building that Tokyo tower is so you don't get as good a view of it. Also there is a lot of light in the first half (so you can see the exhibits!) which isn't great when you want to look at the cityscape at night. Other than that, it felt an OK price - ¥2,200 per person (¥200 additional for the exhibition), and was worth the awesome views over the city.

  • 3/5 ZX T. 5 months ago on Google
Closer view of Tokyo Tower and Mt Fuji. Good time to visit before sunset However, there will be bright light causing reflections when taking night photos, so take that into consideration. You can also enjoy some exhibition display in the same area if you’re lucky For better experience, will suggest Shibuya Sky.
