My first time visit a hair salon in Kyoto. I loved it. REM cut my hair with passion and very skillful. I have difficult thick frizzy hair. He done it so amazingly. Thank you so much REM. You are awesome ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I waited a while before making this review to truly give an honest one. I am incredibly impressed with the staff and very happy with the results! I got straightening treatment with cut. The lady stylist who did my hair was very careful and explained to me that my bleached ends could not be done, otherwise it is too damaging. I am very happy with the honesty and care that they put towards the client. I speak very little Japanese, but we were able to get through with Google Translate and they were so patient. Anyways, my hair is super stubborn. I’ve had a similar treatment done years ago in America, but the results were not good. My hair was wavy in the end. But in this salon, they worked so precisely and took the time to really let the product work my hair (the process was 5 hours long). In the end, my hair is straight and easy to style even after many washes later. I am extremely grateful to this salon for making my life so much easier ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you!! I will visit again :)

I was influenced by the stylish women of Japan to change up my hair. I was initially worried because I do not speak Japanese, but it was a comfortable visit. Ryohei cut my hair and it turned out wonderfully! He also washed my hair prior to the cut (great head massage!), and styled my hair after. It has never looked so shiny and healthy! The service is absolutely exceptional, despite them not speaking English fluently and my not speaking Japanese well, they took absolute care to make sure my hair came out exactly how I wants, and despite my hair being much more fragile and finicky than the hair types they're used to working with the results are unbelievable, the young man with blue hair did my hair wash and I have not felt that relaxed in a long time, he's incredibly skilled and friendly, and my hair hasn't felt this soft in years. The prices too are very reasonable, even a bit too cheap in my opinion, back home I would have to pay hundreds for this kind of service

Absolutely amazing experience highly recommend!!!! The staff are so kind and experienced and made such an effort to ensure to communicate as I don’t speak Japanese. I had my hair cut, washed and a blow dry by Nakajima and it is one of the most thorough and best cuts I’ve had. 👌🏽

I had an incredible experience at REM salon. My stylist, Nishida Haruka, was patient and understanding with my requests despite my lack of Japanese. I also had a head spa treatment which was very relaxing and exactly what I needed (I didn't catch the other employee's name who did the treatment but they were amazing as well). I was absolutely cared for and felt at home. I will definitely come back again and I highly recommend this salon for anyone looking to get a hair service done in Kyoto! :)

Was finding a salon in Kyoto and stumbled upon this place that accepted my walk-in request. The hairdresser did an excellent job and the price was reasonable. The staff understood English and were very friendly as well. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a salon near Nishiki market.

Ryohei did my hair and did such an amazing job. I’m usually very picky with my hair so it means a lot to me that he was accommodating. I got a cut, wash, and styled. I highly recommend coming here, the shop is super cute and even the whole team was very nice as well!

Thank you to Haruka and REM! She was able to accommodate for all my requests, and my hair came out really pretty and cute! I ended up getting a cut, color, and treatment and my hair ended up really soft! Prior to this my hair was bleached and really long but Haruka was able to figure out the style I wanted with pictures ♡ As a foreigner I would love to come back again, the service was excellent and relaxing, I was able to speak a bit of Japanese but Google translate is always handy. I had a wonderful time at REM, thank you again!

Haruka was so nice and hospitable! I’m in love with my hair. I did a no bleach hair dye and it turned out to be a surprisingly light brown (my hair is naturally dark brown/black). I did a peekaboo pink (two pink highlights near the front of my face) and I love the color. Haruka made sure I felt comfortable and was very thorough throughout the entire process. Thank you!!
