😠 As soon as I walked in the bartender tried to upsell me for a bourbon and coke without asking and then charged a small fortune for it! I also found the bathroom really creepy. Probably a hidden camera in there. People often mention owner, great, Osaka, drinks, friendly, music, drink, good, club, night,

Edit: Sketchy bar manager has replied. We walked in with empty cans trying to recycle them and this was clearly explained to him. Nice try. Japan doesn't have many public disposal places. Did he expect us to throw them on the street? Anyways, we were going to become a "paying customer", but his horrible attitude and dirty, dark, grungy bar drove us out. Go to Grand Slam down the street. They had no problem simply recycling our cans and welcoming us. What a concept. Much nicer, cleaner bar with great lighting and sound, very friendly locals and travellers, and fantastic free karaoke! We had a great time at Grand Slam instead 🙂 I've never seen such a rude manager, or so I assume. Walk in and an older gentleman tells us we're not welcome. Before we even open our mouth or get into the bar. Very smoky and grungy, with a bunch of questionable regulars that glare when you come in. Don't waste your time - plenty of other gay friendly establishments in the area

Reasons of 2 stars 1. Good location, easy access 2. There was a so unfriendly staff in entrance. We went just 3 minutes outside for take flesh air, cause there is no separation between smoker area and non, so that you will die of no oxigen inside ,so suffocative. We were choked and one of us was not ok of no air. So we went outside. And when we came back, we had to pay the fee for reentrance 1000 yen. Later we saw, that other people go out and come back free. It was not fair. 3. Good music. Hear is not a club for Flirt and hit on. Really club for real music lover. 4. As i mentioned, bad air. Small dance room and so much smoker. 5. soundsystem too powerful for such small room. You get 100% tinnitus afterwards. Its pity, that we have bad impression of this local, even though the music was ok. They should give to the petsonal in the entrance some kind of education of politeness.

Was not in the bar for more than 2 minutes and the bartender told me if I wasn't going to drink I had to leave. Hadn't even had a chance to order a drink. On our way in several guys were leaving saying the place was dead (on a Saturday night). Would not recommend going here.

This is a really neat place to visit. There was a great mixed crowd there (gay, straight, local and foreign). The place is chill and very colorful. Bar tender is super awesome and friendly. Foreigners are welcome there. They have a big drink special that is a fair deal. This is a great gay bar that I would check out. It's a little hard to see from the street, but look for the colorful sign by the hall. See the attached picture.

This bar was a surprise. A surprise because when the bar was empty and we had ordered 3 G&Ts, and sat down, the bar-tender/owner (an elderly Australian guy), asked us to collect the drinks. What a first impression! A disagreement then followed when doubles had been served and we had not ordered. Rather than compromise or sell us the single he insisted on the double being standard. Having been in Japan for a while we know this not to be the case. His loss. We were and are in serious party. Ode so we left and will party elsewhere. I do not often recommend that gay bars should not be supported - we need all the bars we can get but this bar-tender/owner hacked us right off. We found a great bar nearby! See my other review !!

Please don't take any of the previous reviews into consideration. All three "Club critics" went to a private party and crappy experience not because of negligence from the club but more so from their organizer. Circus specializes in underground music from ranging from hip hope to techno. Some of the best artist from all four corners of the globe play there constantly and with top quality sound system. Their service is excellent and ticket prices are reasonable if you compare it to other local clubs and events.

Went to this bar on a Saturday night with three friends and was immediately confronted by the owner, who demanded that we either buy a drink or leave, which was rude and unexpected given that we had been in the bar for a grand total of two minutes. I rarely leave reviews, but this encounter was so frustrating that i felt that it was appropriate to take it upon myself to take initiative to leave this comment, in the hopes that it will color others’ decisions to patronize this place (or not) in the future.

Awful. Expensive, impossible to get a drink, terrible music. Totally screwed our group over by telling us way more people could come then could actually fit, by not being prepared to serve that many people drinks, and by not having a dj.

All you can drink party, staff were extremely slow to serve drinks. They ran out of beer after an hour and there was a 30min wait in line to get spirits. Terrible venue. Not worth ¥1000 and we paid ¥3000! Avoid at all costs!

The Australian guy charged us 1600 yen per drink. When I ordered drinks to the other bartender(Taiga) it was 1000 yen. I have been here several times but it is dead compared to 4 or 5 years ago. I will never go again.

Book this place for a large party, was told a larger number of people could attend than would actually fit in the space. Only two bartenders and there was no DJ, just the same one EDM track on loop. Eventually we ended up DJing off an iPhone. No thanks.

Wow, amazed by the unfortunate ignorance of some of the previous reviewers. Since its inception, Circus has been at the forefront of and remains a life force of the underground electronic music scene in Japan. Not only do they regularly book some of the best underground techno/house/juke/bass/ artists from around the world, they also help foster a community for local DJs and help maintain Osaka's underground music scene. A great sound system and attentive sound engineers help make a well-organized night at circus an experience equilavent to the best clubs around the world (at least of a similar size/scale.) If you had a bad experience there, my guess is that whomever was organizing the party is to blame, not the club itself. Anyway, highly recommended for underground music lovers.

Very vibrant room (as all four bars I visited in this neighborhood can be described), small bar in the corner with karaoke as the main attraction. The cost of a drink seems high (1600 yen), but they are double the size of a normal drink, so I didn’t feel ripped off. Very international, younger crowd when i was there. Asian and western guys both.

This place is an absolute gem! Everyone is made to feel welcome and the Ozzie host/owner does a remarkable job in making sure new guests are introduced to other patrons so there is an immediate friendliness amongst all customers. The clientele is a great mix of locals and visitors. Fun music videos, colorful interior, good conversations, new friends, stiff drinks. A must if you are in Osaka and up for a good time. I went almost every night my entire week in Osaka and for sure will be back!

I live in Seoul and have been coming here since my first visit to Osaka many years ago. The Australian owner has always been so welcoming and friendly. Coming here is the highlight of every trip. I don’t know why people write such negative reviews - it’s a bar, the rules are simple. Come in, don’t bring in outside stuff, order a drink, sit down, enjoy. People complain about “the doubles and the price,” but you get a giant double jug of booze for 1,600Y. In Japan, one drink for 800 is normal, but even the pour is garbage. It’s expensive for liquor in Japan, that’s a fact. Here the pour is hefty. I have visited several other gay bars in Osaka but none make me feel as welcome or have the same vibe as here. I already can’t wait to come back! 사장님은 너무 친절하고 칵테일은 술이 너무 많다. 항상 붐비고 재밌는 얘기 할 수 있다. 바로 오세요 ㅎㅎㅎ

Comparing to other underground clubs in the world CC is a small but good one. Industrial looks, dark and also the sound system quality is good. However the volume is too high, even with professional custom made earplugs I had a bleep in my ears afterwards.

Visited twice during a trip to Osaka. Received a warm welcome from the owner Sully and his assistant bartender Amos the daschund. Decor is wild with plenty going on to keep you interested, the theme even extends into the toilet! Wide range of spirits available as well as beers and Saki. No cover charge and prices are reasonable. Met a number of other tourists there during both visits and Sully was a wonderful host, encouraging conversation between solo travellers, locals and groups visiting. Music can be whatever you want it to be as they will take requests and Karaoke was a hit with the locals. Definitely stop by and support this bar during your visit to Osaka.

(Translated by Google) The most fun place in Osaka, with a large glass of sake, is the place ☺️ Impressive was the overwhelming voice and power of the owner. Once you go, the more you become addicted, the more you want to go to Frenz Frenzy. The interior of the store is very colorful, and even with LGBT, he has a polite and funny conversation. As far as I know, it's the best #1 store. There are some famous singers in Frenz Frenzy, so I thought that the owner can have a happy time only by striving!! ☆☆☆☆☆ I wanted to give more stars than the stars. We were only in Osaka during the week, but even so, the bar was lively and animated with foreigners and locals getting to know each other at the bar counter. Really great club for enjoying music and dancing (not "partying"): people are chill and unpretentious, the sound system is high quality and the room is pretty dark, so don't expect a lot of communication and sleazy interactions on the dancefloor. The volume is definitely a notch too high though, to the point communication is hard even in the room adjacent to the dancefloor. Would be also nice if there was a dedicated smoking area just like there is at the Circus Club in Tokyo. On the plus side, unlike the Circus in Tokyo, this one allows for re-entry at the cost of one drink ticket, which is no big deal since you probably were gonna buy one anyway.

Great intimate venue, techno night I went to wasn't too crowded, everyone had space to dance. Also being a foreigner, I felt welcome there, the locals and staff were friendly! Great sound system, great night :)

My favorite club in Japan, good line-up and even greater atmosphere! I've made great friends and spent many unforgettable nights there.

Is legal to pack so many people in such a small place? no space for dancing, it's like being in Japanese metro at rush hours
