If you are new in Japan, and want an English menu for some tasty Japanese food, Gyozah Dotonburin is your best bet. They have English speaking staff and an English menu. They also cater to vegetarians with a special vegetarian menu. The food is fresh and cooked by chefs in front of you. Everything smells and tastes fabulous. We were very happy to have our first meal in Osaka, here.

Very touristy restaurant which served majority of foreigners. Food is rather average for Japan standard but severs communicate in good English. Their ramen really cannot make it the meat slices are hard and soup base salty. Nothing impressive at all.

Overrated when it comes to gyozas, they were definitely NOT that good. The people who say this is the best qyoza they ever had need to seriously try it somewhere else. They were cheap, yes, but only mediocore. I did enjoy beef stew (¥690) but it was a bit expensive and cold. The sweet onion was good too. I believe this restaurant receives good reviews mainly due to the fact that it is mostly visited by foreigners only and not locals.

Food was average, dumpling was better since it's their signature but we felt the ramen rather lacking. Staff service was also average (by Japanese standard) but nothing to complain about. The shop is rather small so we had to queue for quite a while which I think is not worth the time.

I'm as critical as it gets when it comes to food. I have to say, this place delivers. We came in with the idea of ordering just 2 dishes to try them out. We ended up ordering more and more. Every dish is a hit! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! Best fried chicken I have had in Japan! Best tofu salad I've had PERIOD! The beef tendon stew was just perfection!

Found this place as I was looking for a late night dinner option. Took us almost an hour to wait outside the stall before we got our seats at the bar. Both queueing and dine in customers are foreigners/tourists so the staff speaks English and menu is in English too. Personally I felt that the taste was decent, nothing to shout about. The only reason I stayed for the queue was because there weren't many options left for late night dining.

While this restaurant was listed as a "ramen restaurant" when we visited, it seems as though they are more known for their dumplings. We ordered a few sets of deep fried dumplings as well as fried chicken. The classic dumplings were the best ones we had, but all were quite good. Servers here were among some of the most friendly we encountered during our two weeks in Japan and many staff members here spoke English quite well.

This restaurant offers many vegetarian meals, and even has a special menu for vegetarian food. However, their vegetarian ramen noodles are a bit tough and the soup is ordinary. The veggie dumplings are unique, but the filling is not salty enough and must be served with soy sauce and spicy oil.

I am surprised by the excellent food they serve here. The staff were friendly. The food came fast and priced amazingly. Try for yourself to experience it. The beef is so soft...

We queued for over an hour and almost gave up, so glad we didn’t! The food was unreal! The gyozas are packed with fillings we kept ordering more, the pork specials were so good! We also tried a mix of plum wines which was a nice experience, they also do this for sakes I believe, small restaurant but the food is quick and delicious 😋

Casual gyoza joint with amazing vibe and friendly staffs! This place is located in a quiet street compared to other parts of Dotonbori. I highly recommend their pan fried dumplings and lemon sour! They also have a selection of other side dishes and vegetarian choices which are also very delicious!

Love it. Super friendly and funny service, English friendly, with an English menu. Delicious food, cold sake. Ask for the vegetable gyoza, pan-fried (vegan I think? it's off menu!). My non-veg friends loved their gyoza too. We went back multiple times. (I'm vegetarian).

Very delicious food, friendly staff, quick service, and good variety of food. We decided to eat here after walking past it and seeing how popular it was. The menu is great, there is a wide range of dishes to choose from, so you can try different things. It’s not too expensive. Very good experience overall!

Lots of vegetarian options which was great, fresh vegetables in the pan fried gyoza, yummy fried spiced potato wedges and also tried the tofu salad, prob would be been better with cooked tofu.

Highly recommend gyozaoh! My partner and I came here two nights in a row the food was so delicious. Gyozas are the best we’ve had in Japan. Awesome that they have vegetarian options too! The manager and female waitress are both lovely! Recommend the chicken karaage, veggie gyoza, pork signature gyoza and spicy soup.

Incredibly gyozas, great karaage, terrific drinks. Great place for a meal or a snack. The "tasting option" for sake and plum wine was fantastic.

initially was a little reluctant standing in line as the entire line were foreigners but gosh the gyoza was so soft, light & crispy. writing this two months after i went and i miss them so much :( good chicken too! oh my sister unfortunately did fall and hit her head when we got out the of the store since it was raining… would suggest maybe putting a non-slip map down on those wet days!

Felt very unauthentic. Unfortunately I can’t comment on their signature dish but I had the vegetables gyoza it was super oily and just an average gyoza IMO. The other dishes we ordered were just OK nothing special, tasted very bland. The only positive is they speak English and have an English menu but I don’t recommend this place. The service wasn’t the best either- they forgot our drinks and it was hard to get their attention.

We had three hours to spend in Osaka and I’m so glad we ended up here. I’m a mackerel lover; their pickled mackerel was out of this world good. Fish broth ramen and homemade apple vinegar soda were delicious. Sake glasses filled above the brim. Allergens/ingredients list was very helpful. Super friendly and attentive staff.

Meh. The restaurant is very well rated on Google, but it’s not worth it. First, the restaurant is made for foreigners. There were no Japanese customers in the venue, which is quite telling. We ordered the gyoza, the clam soup and the soy aubergine. The gyoza were quite small, but crispy. The flavour was average. The clam soup was very good, but came in a very small bowl, for ¥600 which far toi expensive. The aubergine was okay. Overall, we paid +¥3000 for two people, which too expensive for a light diner in Japan. The staff was nice and welcoming. They had vegetarian options, which is rare in Japan. I guess this is a restaurant made for tourists and foreigners and it adapted to their needs. You will not find a authentic experience here.

Vegetarian menu and service are awesome! We ordered both vegetarian and pork gyoza which are lovely. The girl tells us which sauce is best for the gyoza. And the vegetarian Raman is full of flavored👍 Definitely recommend this place for vegetarian🌱

A really fantastic ramen place in Dotonbori with some of the best ramen I had over 2 weeks in Japan. The vegetarian options were just as great as the pork based ramen. Nice selection of Osaka Sakes to drink with your food. Highly recommend this place if you are in Osaka, the only disappointment you'll have is if you can't get in.

Lovely quaint little international bar. Lovely snacks that's reasonably priced. This place accepts credit card and servers speak English as well. Do go early cause it's really small. Would visit again! 👍👍👍

Tbh I m impressed the shop is run by foreigners. If it is a shop in a western city outside of Japan I would have given it 5 stars. But comparing it with other Japanese restaurants and food options, nope the taste is not authentic enough. Food quality and taste standards in Japan is high…so it’s really steep competition here. It’s good if you are a westerner. Not so for Asian/Japanese people. 4.5stars is more for familiar western vibes/communications etc.

Had one of the best meals in Japan here! Their choices for vegetarians is pretty vast in comparison to a lot of other places and the taste-delicious! I would highly recommend this place to all- whether you are vegetarian or not, it doesn’t matter! The ambience, the food, the staff and service- all wonderful!

One of the best gyozas we have ever had! Very friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. Gyoza was succulent, juicy and crispy on the outside. Great value for money as well! Highly recommended!

Great restaurant for foreigners! In fact, we had a full house and everyone was foreign. The staff speak decent English and there's English menus. The food is great! I'd eat here everyday if I could. Service is a great as any Japanese restaurant. Don't be afraid to speak up for service as this place is izakaya style.

My husband and I arrived in a Osaka and picked this place on a whim. It was DELICIOUS! Staff were very accommodating and kind. Try the Nomikurabe for the Plum Wines. Food and drinks were great. 10/10 recommend!

Amazing Customer service. The staff speaks English very well, they are incredibly friendly and kind. The food is great if not amazing, the prices for sides and Gyoza are unbeatable and the conversations in both Japanese and English will make this an unforgettable experience that will make you want to come back whenever you're in Osaka. Highly recommended.

Delicious gyōza, with a vegetarian gyōza available as well as some other veggie options. Most of the food was pretty good although the vegetarian ramen was a little bland. Staff were very friendly and although there was a queue (mostly of other tourists seeking vegetarian food!) the wait was worth it. Some nice sake options too!

HANDS DOWN THE BEST RAMEN IVE EVER EVER HAD. Was almost about to give up walking around that late Sunday night (I came on 12 Feb 2023!) and noticed this gyoza place on the corner of the street. The restaurant is full of foreigners when I went but I think that shouldn’t be a deterrence because the food here was so on point and so incredibly delicious. I had the spicy seafood ramen which I instantly fell in love with. The broth had this natural seafood sweetness and the chillies made my tongue tingle and the noodles didn’t taste alkaline and the clams added that extra oomph and oh my gosh it was a big bowl but I couldn’t help finishing it. Gyoza was perfectly crisped and juicy as expected and the chicken karage was okay. If you want to try something a bit out of your comfort zone, have the rice with raw egg! It has a creamy mouthfeel with the spring onions giving that bit of texture. Chefs were humble and so nice as well! They have fluent English-speaking servers so don’t be afraid to step into this shop. Highly highly recommend! I would’ve come again if I didn’t have a million other things to eat haha

Delicious gyoza to a very reasonable price. Service was very friendly. Also, I contacted them earlier via google chat function and got an immediate response. The menu includes also vegetarian gyoza. We tried both the vegetable ones and the ones with pork.

Delicious gyoza, great vegetarian options (with the menu highlighting all meat/fish/dairy/gluten), and a wonderful flight of plum wine. Bottles of local plum wine are available to buy to take out, too. Staff were friendly and helpful - would highly recommend a visit!

Loved this place. Apparently, it's always packed so be prepared. Staff was friendly and fast. The gyoza was crispy with a solid crunch. Coupled with the vinegar and soy, ITS AMAZING. Be careful with the spicy soup. I like spicy, but 3 was an overkill. The apple soda had a sharp apple flavor, but get it. You won't regret it.
