It looks like a great hotel and the desk service is very friendly, but you're being fooled by false hospitality. They charge extra for: the gym, pool, etc. Great hotels don't have to nickel and dime customers. Plus, it was odd that only Japanese customers had reservations for the buffet and restaurant and they were "fully" booked when foreigners wanted to eat there. It seemed like foreigner discrimination. The host at the restaurant had this nasty smirk on his face when he told me and my brother they were fully reserved while Japanese customers sat in the waiting chairs for tables. Don't be fooled by elegant remote curtains. There are way better hotels in Osaka. Keep looking.

I attended the "IMPERIAL JAZZ 2023" event. It was a unique live performance experience that allowed attendees to freely move between live performances at four different venues within the hotel. The event ran from 13:30 to 20:00, providing ample time to immerse oneself in the music, savor delicious food, and enjoy a variety of beverages. It was a wonderful opportunity to indulge in the trifecta of music, culinary delights, and refreshments. The setting was exquisite, with a blend of excellent music, delectable food, and the perfect ambiance. It truly was a luxurious experience, offering a harmonious fusion of entertainment for the senses. I didn't stay overnight at the hotel, so I can't provide feedback on it as an accommodation. However, the staff members at the entrance, lobby, and banquet hall were courteous and made the experience all the more pleasant.

Super elegant hotel. The staff is kind, courteous, and extremely helpful. This is exactly what I look for when I approach the counter at any hotel. The fact that they make a solid effort to make you feel welcomed says great things about the establishment. The complimentary breakfast had more than enough selections to keep most people happy and the cooks are fantastic. I was extremely surprised by how clean the lobby, the restaurant, and the restrooms were.

Simple yet very luxuriously showcased. Friendly English speaking staff. Fully stocked mini bar with an array of choices. Was awestruck with the silverware cutlery. The lady playing her violin during meals and a few minutes after that was soothing. Made my first trip to Japan so memorable. A must stay upon my next return ❤️❤️

This is what a true 5 star hotel and true 5 star service looks like! Other 5 star hotels could learn a thing or two from these guys. We were given a free upgrade to a better room. There were free goodies in our rooms with free chocolates. Amenities in the room were fantastic. Experience of a lifetime! Will be back.

Location is not great for tourists not easy access to a metro station or main landmarks. The restaurants in the hotel are very expensive and not that great, also they close very early, room service also closes by 9:30pm.

A beautiful hotel with outstanding service. It is a bit far from the centre of the main areas. It would have been more convenient if the hotel shuttle bus started earlier. Overall a beautiful hotel

The Imperial Hotel Osaka is right next to the scenic Okawa river and, based on weather, sitting on a bench behind the hotel is a tranquil experience in the otherwise very busy city. While the surroundings are nice, the location is somewhat isolated and requires a taxi or metro connection to go almost anywhere. The closest metro station is about an 8-10 min walk from the hotel. If noise is an issue for you, be aware that the rooms are noisy in terms of transmitting sound through the concrete walls. The room doors also have a substantial gap at the bottom and will transmit almost any hallway sounds. This may not be a good option if you find yourself jet-lagged and in need of an afternoon nap, as banging will guarantee interruptions. Finally, I found the service throughout the hotel lacking and not always very responsive. I was not the only guest who would wait to get some coffee or a refill on the coffee at breakfast time and then would proceed to get it themselves just to find the sometime mingling staff be embarrassed by that situation. Everything else at the hotel is as one would expect from a higher end 5-star hotel. The breakfast is ok but not noteworthy and may be a bit lacking for this type of hotel. Still, the scenic location at the river can make one overlook those glitches.

This hotel is better suited to business than vacation. It is well located for visiting Osaka castle, but the rest requires long train rides. The beds are overly firm for my taste, but the pillows and blankets are soft and comfortable. The rooms have a coffee maker and electric kettle, but no microwave. That makes food tourism a bit tricky as it is hard to bring food back to the room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They even speak a little English which is very helpful. The rooms could be a bit more sound proof as well. The restaurants in the hotel are nice, but overly expensive. 4900 yen for a buffet breakfast is a little outrageous, no matter how good the food and coffee is. I didn't even bother with the dinner restaurants after seeing their prices. Tldr; a nice hotel for impressive business, but not a great hotel for families or tourists.

A hotel with a high reputation, very friendly and service oriented staff in a good location in Osaka. However the hotel is more classic than modern and the rooms are a little dated. Still, the bathrooms, bathroom equipment and towels are nice and of high quality. Also for sightseeing you should consider choosing a taxi as the next subway Stationdirektor in front of the hotel.

This hotel is definitely a 5 star hotel, no doubt. Walking in, you could feel the elegance in the air. The staff was indeed helpful, the rooms were very nice, and they had just about everything you needed. And the view from the 15th floor are absolutely stunning. However, there are 3 reasons why this place deserves only 3 stars: 1. Location: Finding the “front” doors to this place from the Sakuranomiya station is near impossible. It’s about an 8 minute walk from the station to the hotel. You will be dropped off by the river where there is a door to the first floor which isn’t the main lobby area. You will have to go to the second floor for that. If you’re wanting to explore Osaka, you’ll still have to take the train out which is a 30 minute ride to anywhere. 2. Temperature: We were visiting during the hot and humid season (July), so when we entered our room and set the A/C to 20 degrees Celcius/64 degrees Fahrenheit, we expected it to be that. However, it not only took forever, but did not get close to that temperature. It said it did, but definitely did not feel like it. 3. Extra Costs: Unlike other hotels, not everything is complimentary. The only things that are are the first round of in-room bar top items (coffee, tea, and water) and the shuttle service to Osaka station. If you want to use their gym, pool, room service, laundry, or any meal, it all costs extra (¥2,000~5,000 each). Overall, if you’re looking for a gorgeous hotel to use all their restaurants, shopping, and glamour, this is it. However, for a couple of honeymooners wanting to experience Japan and just needing a place to stay at night, maybe find a smaller, more central hotel.

This hotel and its staff definitely understand what it takes to deliver 5 star service. Rooms are very well maintained with lots of amenities that are unique and useful. My friend and I both utilized the massage service that is arranged through the hotel and it was the perfect way to wind down after walking all day before getting some great sleep. The view we had from our room of the river was incredible and the rest of our interactions with staff were all very professional and courteous.

Exactly what we expected from a 5 star hotel! Great service, very welcoming and helpful staffs, big and comfortable rooms and a beautiful view of the city and river below. We asked some questions with an email in English and they replied almost instantly. They have everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and if we needed anything else there area few convenience store nearby. We were slightly disappointed that there was a fee to use the gym and pools but it may be due to the room plan we chose which was the cheapest on the list, not sure if it may be free for the more expensive plans. The closest station is a small walk away (through the riverside garden and across a bridge) but free shuttle bus services are also available to and fro Osaka station which is more convenient.

We chose this hotel for the river view which was supposedly adorned by Sakura trees in spring. Overall we had a pleasant stay, room was spacious. We had some trouble locating the bus pick up point upon arrival at the Osaka station. We end up taking the train instead. The pick-up location should have been updated in the website.

Nice place for sightseeing. The fee is higher than the other. But it's worthy.

I went there for a ball-room event I was hosting and it was beautiful ! Very traditional hotel and very woody taste mixed wirh modern. The ball room was very big and I loved the chandelier!! The setting and food was good too. Probably one of the best place to organize large amount of people event in Osaka ! Staff was very nice too.

The Imperia Hotel Osaka is a decent place to stay for those looking for a 5 star budget option in the city. While the hotel may not have the luxurious amenities and facilities of more expensive options, it does offer a comfortable and convenient base for exploring Osaka. Unfortunately, it seems that the staff at the Imperia Hotel Osaka may not provide the level of service that is expected from a hotel. If the staff is consistently described as rude, it can greatly impact the overall experience of guests and make their stay unpleasant. This is certainly not what one would hope for during a hotel stay and it is disappointing to hear about negative experiences with the staff.

The hotel is quite grand on a large scale. Rooms are very comfortable. All members of staff are very professional and helpful. The minibus to and from Osaka station is very useful.

True five star hotel. Faced with riverside. You can follow the river and go to Osaka castle. Covered shopping street is also 10min’s walk. Loved the swimming pool though they charged.

We booked the standard double and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. Check in was relatively swift and attentive with staff doing their utmost. The room itself, cosy, tastefully furnished, maintained to a high standard and housekeeping was spotless. River views from the room were also a highlight. Breakfast was adequate, but no more than that. In my opinion, the breakfast options could be much more innovative and more international. Many guests seemed to be from different countries so it would be nice to have more selections to cater as such. Other competitors (e.g. Conrad) are way ahead of the Imperial hotel in this aspect. Next time, I’ll skip breakfast. I’d like to return at some point to try out the Imperial floor rooms and the club lounge experience. I’d recommend this hotel to those inclined as it represents value for money, depending on the room rate offered.

The rooms are VERY large, even by international standards, but for Japan, AMAZING! Service is just over the top GREAT. Breakfast included is a great way to save time and the food is good. Walking distance from the Imperial castle, and about 15 minute walk to a couple metro stations. Lastly, the view. Just fantastics.

The hotel is just a short bus ride (complimentary) from Station but it’s right along the river and about a 10 min walk to Osaka Castle. The rooms are large and have great bathrooms. Staff is fantastic super friendly and helpful.

This traditional hotel is one of Osaka branch of Tokyo Imperial Hotel, so the quality of the service they do are corresponding to that of representative hotel in Japan, so no complaint at all!

The breakfast is very good with a lot of quality food. The service is very good and helpful. The rooms are good, a little bit dated but the bathroom is more modern. You also can for example close the curtains with a button from the bed. There is a free shuffle from the station. The subway is 10 Min away

We had a really pleasant stay. The room and the bed were really big and a wonderful bathroom. All was clean and sparkling. The shuttle bus brought us a few times to the Osaka-station. The service was always nice and never get tired from greeting us friendly and heartwarming. Thank you for a great stay. We would love to come again in the future.
