The best grilled Japanese eel with rice (unagi rice) I have ever had! Nippon Number One! The food is freshly prepared. The host is really friendly and won lots of memory books written by his customers. Please be nice to him as he is a really superb cook!!

Best eel so far. We ordered the regular set and egg roll. The eel is fresh, the ratio of sauce and rice is just perfect. The egg roll is a big surprise, the cooked egg flavour is strong and well balanced. Although I ordered the egg roll with eel, I think egg roll by itself would be better. Also, the owner is funny, he has a notebook that people from other country can write down their own story. It’s cute.

Had this one when i am on hibike euphonium pilgrimage in uji. they prepare the unagi infront of you so its realy fresh. Its taste really good. The people who work there is really welcoming too. I hope i can visit it again in the future. *there are yuuko merch displayed inside so its a point plus too 👍

So delicious that everyone should try🙌🏻 This was my first time eating eel but I would said everything was perfect and I totally enjoyed the atmosphere in this small restaurant! There are too few seats to sit more than 10 people, so plz tried it except meal time! And also, the eel were processed on-site.Relaxing to live in UJI, not suit for someone who is busy the chef is a passionate person, welcoming people to talk with him

The BEST una don (Japanese eel rice) you will have in Kyoto. Fresh eel filleted and prepared when you order, which takes about 20min, but well worth the wait. It does not come fresher than this. The cook is friendly and personable. It is a tiny restaurant but atmosphere is like Midnight Diner on Netflix. Do not miss this eatery if you're in the area.

Matcha brought me to Uji first time, But the Unagi brought me to Uji for the rest of times.

A reaaaaally good eel restaurant. The owners are very nice and interested in you. The eel is just amazing and we overall had a wonderful experience.

Food was super fresh and the owners were super friendly! 10/10 would recommend!
