Great value for the price. The food is amazingly tasty. We ate both lunch and desserts. The latte is the first coffee I enjoyed in Japan for a week! Fun and quiet atmosphere, very welcoming service in English.

A Delightful Ramen Experience for the Whole Family at Moon and Back. My family of four, including my two young children ages 6 and 7, recently visited Moon and Back while in Kyoto and were incredibly impressed by the warm hospitality and mouthwatering ramen. The passionate owner took the time to personally engage with my kids, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Every dish we sampled, from the exceptional bowls of ramen Overflowing with umami flavor to the tasty takeaway snacks, exceeded our expectations. Though I opted not to partake, the whisky menu looked intriguing as well. To accompany our meal, I savored an expertly-crafted cup of coffee - the best I've had since arriving in Japan. Moon and Back offered a best-in-class culinary experience paired with genuine hospitality that made our family feel right at home. My 7-year-old is already asking when we can return so he can learn boxing from the talented employee who is a Japanese championship boxer! Moon and Back is an absolute must-visit gem for anyone traveling in Kyoto.

Absolutely incredible. The pictures I've posted below will speak for themselves, but you will not believe how phenomenal this food is, especially considering the price. A lunch set is roughly a little less than $20(USD), and it is worth every penny/yen.

Very good ramen. We tried the Vegan (delicious! And thick broth) and the wagyu ramen (amazing, more like the traditional ramen). Price is ok for the dish. We ordered gluten free noodles (they come at an extra 200 yen) and were very good.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while wandering through Nishiki market. My 8 year old was craving ramen and she enjoyed it. The chef was kind enough to make a kid size portion and plain for my daughter’s picky palette. I had yummy and beautifully played hamburger omelet rice dish with sauce. Glad we stopped by!

The food was very tasty but I thought the portion was too small and there could have been more tea. I also don't like it when people give me a QR code before eating and ask me to rate the restaurant with 5 stars. I also like to have peace and quiet while eating and don't want to make small talk.
