Showa Memorial Park, located in Tachikawa, Tokyo, is a vast oasis of natural beauty and recreational delights, spanning over 160 hectares. Its picturesque landscape features lush forests, vibrant flower gardens, serene lakes, and open meadows, providing a tranquil escape from the bustling city life. One of the park's main attractions is the diverse flora that changes with the seasons, showcasing blooming cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant foliage in autumn. Spanning over 180 hectares. This national government park offers seasonal flowers, a Japanese garden with a pond, a Western-style garden, museums, and other recreational facilities. It is particularly popular in spring and autumn for its cherry blossoms and fall foliage.

This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in Japan. The park is huge and has many attractions and exquisitely groomed plants. But there are also some wooded areas with real ecosystem. There is an entire Children's park, a cherry blossom orchard, a ginko pathway that turns gold in the fall, and plenty of restrooms. It's also handicap accessible and most of the areas are well paved (the wooded pathways are not accessible, but they are a fraction of the entire area. The park also holds frequent special events like an evening fall colors event, and displays at the traditional Japanese garden. I highly recommend it as a place to experience Japan's natural beauty and love of nature.

Almost three months, we have been waiting for enjoying the autumn beauty in this park. Finally we visited here!!! A eye-catching scenery, many things to watch, and for it’s full of beauty, I will obviously recommend this place for seeing the best view of Autumn. I don't know how it looks in other seasons, but you should obviously visit if you want to enjoy the Autumn scenery. Though, you have to buy Ticket, obviously because it’s a beautiful place and need big amount for maintain cost, but I was shock as I have to buy ticket for two times. From 9 to 4:30, you need to buy a ticket of 450 yen(adults) for enjoying the day scenery. But for enjoying the night, which was more attractive, you have to buy a ticket of 1200 yen(adults). Though if you buy the ticket from their website, you can save 200 yen as you have to pay 1000 yen! Whatever, for it’s attractive view, I think it wasn’t a waste of money project for me!!

A must place to visit, there are several entrance to the park with small fee, senior citizen have discounts. Park is huge, you may rent a bicycle or hop and off circular bus inside the park for a fee, many resting places with toilets plus vending machines for cold drinks. Park close by 17:00 so try to arrive early as you will need at least 3 hours to see most of the park, bring your pets but needed to be leashed all the time. Depending on the season you will be able to see the autumn leaves changes!

Beautiful park. Give it 5/5. There were lot of lovely places to be visited in the park like for example; The Japanese Garden, the walk to the Japanese garden through the entrance (at daytime), etc. But you should boost the park at daytime AND night because in the day some spots are beautiful and in night the remaining spots are beautiful (like the illuminations). The park had boating, snack restaurants and Segways- (available and enjoyed in day only). There are many more places to visit but you should come in day to enjoy the whole park. Overall this park is a 4.9. Recommendation to come here- 89-97%.

This is a very huge park with a lot of flowers and trees. We went here to have the family photos of a friend. The flowers were carefully planted in various details, growing and glowing in seasons that makes it attractive to domestic and international tourists. We came here on spring and the flowers are blooming. We saw a lot of families doing picnics at the park. There are also a lot of buildings showcasing historic crafts made by the Japanese. I enjoyed my stay in this park and there are good parking also. If you wanted to spend good times with families or friends, you can always go to this park, bring food and create happy memories to cherish.

The park is huge beautiful and have many scene to take photo, many area for picnic and also good for relax or any activity with your family, friends or even your pets. You can visit and relax here for all day, I have only half day here and could not discover all the area of the park, in 2023 the Autumns color is a bit late, so it would be very beautiful when the leaf color was completely changed. The restroom is clear and enough to serve all visitor, it's not hard to find the restroom here. The are some senior staff that willing to help and give you necessaries information, there are so friendly.

Best place to visit if you want to chill on park, best to visit is during spring on cherry blossom and tulips. It's a big park, you can spend half day there. It's a good choice to escape from city to go to place that more calm.

Huge and beautiful park just an hour from Tokyo. We spent half a day there and only covered half of the park. Managed to see many different types of sunflowers and other summer flowers. We had a break at the beautiful Japanese gardens and had green tea and a delicious seasonal sweet. Met an old tour guide at the antique farm house who gave us some fascinating background on the park. We were told that the park was a former American army base before the government took it over and converted it to a park. We will come again in different seasons to see the different flowers.

We only visited the top left corner of the park. It had a huge place full of bouncy white mounds of fun, each for different age groups. There was a net area and a fun little playground with slides. The area was clean and well taken care of. My boys loved it.

29/11/2023 Beautiful huge park, need to spend whole day for visiting. You need to rent a bike to explore around the park cost 600 yen for 3 hours. There are so many Sakura, maple and Ginkgo trees in the park. Worth visit ☘️🌳🍂🌲

6 May 2023 Nemophilias, Red Poppies and mixed blooms! I highly recommend to rent a bike for every member of the family. The park is insanely big and don’t think of walking to get to different parks. Wear good shoes. Bring picnic mat or any spare blanket. You’d be tempted to lie down in the grass during the late afternoon. Allot an entire day.

This is a huge huge park that you need to use bike to roam around this park. Kid friendly and food courts are present. Boating for couples and family. Too many things to enjoy especially if you have little kids. Too many exits so try to memorize where your entrance is. Favorite favorite park.

Lots to walk and explore. Lots of Sakura trees in the spring. I went on a Sunday so it was crowded but I was still able to stay away from the crowd and view cherry blossoms, thanks to the vastness of the gardens. The tulips had just started blooming. There are bicycles available on rent as well as a small train which tours the gardens. I recommend arriving to Nishi Tachikawa station since it is closest to the park. Lots of bridges, variety of flowers. Lovely place almost any time of year.

A huge park with lots of things to experience. You can rent bicycle and a small train is available to cover up this huge park. A great park to enjoy your whole day cause we will get to see various flower beds, a calm Japanese garden, a bonsai museum, Kids playground, a lake with boat ride. Also there are food stalls available inside the park and luckily we got the halal Turkish food stall. A car parking is also available which costs 850 yen.

A really spacious park with well-designed landscape. Looks especially gorgeous with autumn leaves. The park has a free area on the east side and a paid main area. Both of them have large grass fields for outdoor activities. I saw families picnicking, playing soccers and baseballs. There were also community gatherings going on like a group practicing drum dance. Overall a nice and relaxing local gem away from the city center.

It’s an awesome park to enjoy with family and friends. A solo trip is much more interesting. Autumn in Tokyo at Showa Kinen park is amazing. I recommend to take children as there is a playground and simple rides for kids. Showa kinen park in Tachikawa, is easily accessible from Tokyo. The ticket is 450¥ which is really worth it. The ginkgo trees at its peak season is the most picturesque spots. A beautiful river and the red maple 🍁 leaves is simply super. A place to fall in love with the God for his extraordinary creation. I covered most of the places in the park. Cycles are available for rent, spicy food 🥘 items, I walked for 5 hours but not even a single moment I was tired. The places are so beautiful that they add energy to whole trip. A must visit in Sakura season as well. Am in love with the Showa kinen park 😍💕.

A very good and big park in Tokyo. It provides a different landscape in each of the four seasons spring, summer, autumn and winter. The entry fee is 300 yen. I have been there twice, both in autumn. During autumn, most of the trees are covered in delightful colours and famous ginko trees line up is the famous tourist spot. This park provides rental cycles to ride around in the park. All types of cycles, single wheel, bicycle, double cycle, etc. are provided. Separate lanes are paved for the cyclists. The rental fee for bicycle is 300~400 yen for 3 hrs.

Very huge park with variety of flowers and so many ginkgo trees. The entry fee is 450 yen per person per day. We went to see the cosmos matsuri and were very tired after roaming for more than 3 hours. Bicycles are available on rent for ease of transportation within the park however there may be a long waiting time on weekends or holidays. The photos came out very nice and my spouse was really happy. The Japanese garden within the park is really wonderful.

Best place in Tokyo to get away from the hustle of the city. We went on a random Sunday and it was free, but we couldn't figure out why it was free. However, it's fun when there are a lot of people. We rented a double bike for 420 yen for 3 hours per person, and it was still barely enough time for us to cover the place. In my opinion you can spend up to 5 hours here. You can get here by Tachikawa station. It's about a 15 minute walk.

Beautiful n colourful japanese park with very spacious areal. There's nice lake n some fountain inside this garden. You can explore this garden by rent a bicycle here with affordable price for some hours duration. Such a nice place for outdoor sightseeing, take a walk, n refreshing either. It become different view every season change. I took this picture while pre autumn season at that time. It was calm n little bit windy n so nice weather indeed. Hopefully can revisit this park soon with different season n vibe. It was easy n accessable, if you from tokyo just take a train for awhile heading nearest station beside this garden.

Showa Kinen Park, located thirty minutes outside of central Tokyo, is a national government park which covers 180 hectares of land. While Tokyo is full of parks catering to a variety of tastes, from immaculate gardens to sporting grounds, Showa Kinen Park's location in the suburbs of Tachikawa makes it a multi-purpose recreational playground for local adults and children alike. Attractions include abundant natural play areas for children, fields of flowers, long paths perfect for cycling, paddleboats, outdoor fitness groups, and nature photography classes. There is a bicycle rental service inside the park and you can cover the area using that.

This park is huge and there is so much to do in it and it's definitely a full day destination. The nemophila and poppy fields that bloom during early May are gorgeous and won't disappoint. There are bikes available for rental and a great bike path but they sell out fast on busy weekends and holidays. There's also a little train that goes all around the park and tickets for it are only a few hundred yen. The komorebi village is cool to check out and closes at 4pm. There are also multiple food stall spots around the park. The kids play area also looked fantastic for kids. Great park for families and bringing your dog too!

Too many things to do and too many things to see. This visit happened on a national holiday so there were many people but just the same, our experience was great because we had fun. The ginkgo trees have started shedding but that’s nature. We look forward to coming back another season.

This place is amazing! Huge and beautiful park in west Tokyo. Located about 10 mins walk away from Tachikawa station. There are cozy style mall in front of the park, so you can pick up something to have a picnic and get in this park. You need to pay to get in the huge flower area. For just a picnic and have a nap on the field, you don’t need to pay but if you want to enjoy great nature and blooms like ginkgo season, you must pay for the park!! I highly recommend you to come in the autumn season!!! There are foods stands! Dogs are available to get in! Nice place to relax on weekends!!! Enjoy!!

Disc golfer review Coming from the USA and playing this course. It’s a fun putt and approach course. A lot of the locals I have found just play the back 9 so the front 9 is pretty open most the time. Coming from America I have noticed the etiquette is a little different, meaning locals don’t often let smaller glorious play through and the group sized are more than 4 players a lot of times. I have enjoyed this course and consider it the best one for having 18 holes to play on. Be FOREWARNED that during the months of April and May the flower festival is going on and the front 9 holes are shut down.

Huge park with various places to enjoy, such as Japanese garden (closes at 16:30 and ticket has to be bought in advance at the main entrance gate of the building park) , pond with boats, interesting fields and buildings, as well a cafe sitting area. Good for children and big enough to lose yourself in it for hours. Once a year in November is an wood art exhibition of Sogetsu ikebana members. Great day there!

It’s actually nearby to plenty of shopping centre at Tachikawa station. However, the nearest train station is actually Nishi-Tachikawa station. You can easily spend half a day there if you’re into nature, picnic or just trying to get away from city life. A variety of food stalls scattered throughout the entire park but I suggest you bring your own instead.

(Translated by Google) It is 3km from the edge to the edge, so it is better to wear clothes that allow you to walk a lot. From any parking lot, there is a distance to the center of the garden, and if you feel like it, you just walk between facilities. There are shops and outdoor tables in key points, so you can go around while taking a break, but it is definitely convenient if you have a small tent for your family. Naughty Yugu is fun for small children. Since you can play in the water in the summer, parents can feel free to see if they have swimwear or clothes. The large zelkova in the center of everyone's field, right next to it, is wonderful and I am surprised that this location is in Tokyo. Children can be happy and adults can be impressed.

Actually 4.5 stars, but chose 4 over 5 because of the prices: affordable but you don't really want to pay them. ¥450 for adults (over 15 years old). Rented a bike for ¥420. Rode around and it was real fun, perfect weather and the leaves were out. Worth it if you visit during the fall season.

Stunning flora and fauna. A little far from the city but a must visit when in Tokyo. The bonzai exhibits were a pleasant find. Come during early November for a picturesque view of autumn and golden ?

Awesome park. Tons of families and people with pets of you go on a holiday. There are several restaurants, gardens, a huge children's area, an 18-hole disc golf and tons more.

It's huge, so if you got to Lake and think that's it, you're mistaken. You can rent a bike or come by yours and enjoy getting around everywhere fast. Autumn ginkgo trees, spring sakura, BBQ in summer. And winter is still chill and enjoyable too!

ヾ(๑╹◡╹)ノ"(((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))♡ HUGE park with many excellent opportunities to view cherry blossoms ? in spring. Easy parking and train access. Highly recommended!

The park is quite vast and has many beautiful spots for kids and adults. The ginkgo colors were quite breathtaking especially when the sun is our, but there was a ton of people. I really appreciated the different sections, including the simple open field, the various gardens, frisbee golf course, kids areas, and bike paths. The restaurants/stalls were not overly priced, though I would recommend bring your own food as the food inside the park was rather plain. There are also lots of restrooms placed throughout the park (I remember the map marked at least 40 or 50). I also appreciate that disabled and one caretaker can go in for free.

It’s truely a magical place in autumn because of the autumn ?, it’s so beautiful. The Japanese garden inside the park is a must visit. The Japanese style landscaping and the red and yellow leaves are a perfect match. The park is popular with both locals and tourist. Having said that, it’s mostly peaceful and tranquil. A perfect place to get away the hustle and bustle of Tokyo city. The park is MASSIVE, get the most comfortable pairs of shoe, prepare to walk for at least 4 hours if you want to visit every corner of the park.

Very beautiful, spacious park. You can spend there all day, walking around, playing games, or just having a picnic. There's a huge and delightful Japanese landscape garden, as well as small bonsai gallery. Visited mid Nov and all autumn colors were in full bloom, very beautiful but also very crowded especially at the entrance. Very popular park but thanks to the size (160ha) inside it's not so crowded except some more attractive areas like the Japanese landscape garden.

(Translated by Google) It was a very large and natural place. There were few flowers that I could see this time, but it seems that I can enjoy more when I go to the season ^ ^ Anyway it's wide, so it's a rental cycle or a train in the park? I recommend using something like It was hot, but I didn't have to worry about the toilets and vending machines being in the required places. Showa Kinen Park is a surprisingly vast park. The park covers a total of 180 hectares and is dotted with open lawns, Japanese gardens, pond for water birds and recreational areas. In the center of the park is the "open field for everyone", a huge playing field where all kind of activities can be enjoyed. The "Children's Forest" has giant trampolines and hammocks for family fun. The Rainbow Pool water park draws crowds escaping the heat in summer.
