Koganei Park is the perfect place for anyone who fancies flowers, wide open spaces, a leisurely stroll, or even a bit of history. Its proximity to downtown Tokyo makes it a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. I visited this park today for hanami with some good friends. It's about a 30 to 35-minute bike ride away from where I live (Higashikurume), but it is also easily accessible via train or bus. Koganei Park features spacious grassy areas, which serve as a perfect spot for picnic and games. A children's playground complete with various amenities (swings, slides, small zip-lines, sledding hill, etc.) are also available, which are sure to entice kids and kids-at-heart alike. And of course, the famous sakura trees in full bloom elevate the place into a captivating view. There are sakura trees in most parts of the park, but they are mostly concentrated on the left and right sides facing the museum. Benches, public washrooms, and a snack house with vending machines are also available, so you surely have everything you will ever need for fun and comfort if ever you get to visit. The park is a must-see in any season of the year, but it shouldn't be missed when the sakura are in full bloom at the peak of spring!⁸

It’s worth making the trip out to Koganei Park and if you live nearby - lucky you! The cherry blossom trees are seriously impressive. Definitely checkout the huge sakura trees with hana daikon planted at the base on the east side of the park, see if you can find the weeping sakura alley (hint, it’s by the azalea hill) and the museum is great value for money and an awesome place to take visitors, both old and young.

The park is very nice and kind of understated. My child enjoy the facilities, especially in playground area. In spring, we enjoy full cherry blossom here. I more enjoy sakura here compare other place in Tokyo Area. It is very easy to reach by bicycle or bus. Koganei Park Sakura like Sakura forest, very beautiful.

There are plenty of nice spots to have a picnic here especially during the spring. There are several types of cherry trees in the park, including those that bloom later in the season. I love biking over and lying on the thick green grass once spring comes. A few short bikes trails as well.

You can walk or take the bus from Musashi-Koganei Station (2 kilometers). You can enjoy the refreshing air. There is Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum.

Huuuuuuge awesome park, especially for parents with small kids. Large playground with tons of different games to play. Highlight is the all-season sledging hill. Pls bring your own sledge. Large parking lot available too.
