Although my family had a nice stay here, I can't give this hotel 5 stars because the room cost was so outrageously overpriced. The location is very convenient for early morning trains from Tokyo station, however the service we received at check-in was less than ideal for this price range. I'm referring specifically to being informed quite directly that breakfast was not included in our ¥110,000/night room rate, when I was already aware of this and I didn't ask. It was as if I was being sternly reminded that I was being ripped off. On top of that, during the walk to our room, I was asked what time I would like breakfast in the morning...as if it was an included amenity. I felt like the hotel wanted our money only, as it's first priority.(For comparison, if you want an example of impeccable service at check-in, then check into the Shangri-La, next to Tokyo station). There are some definate pros to this hotel though...our room was 2 stories which is an enormous amount of space by Tokyo standards and the decor is very classy. The location is unbeatable and most impressive is that for being located at Tokyo station the room was completely silent. There was ZERO train or city noise, I tried to listen for it which I thought was amazing. I slept well and woke early feeling well rested and ready for my trip. The breakfast (which was not included) was very good by Tokyo buffet standards. We were given a semi-private dining room with our 2 small children which was appreciated. Although, I felt like I had a ¥110,000 sleep, my husband was not impressed and said he would not stay here again based on the level of service received at check-in for this price range.

We stayed at the Ritz in Osaka, Hotel Gracery and Cross Hotel. They were all great properties but they didn’t measure up to this hotel. It started the moment yo7 walked in, the attention to detail, high level of respect from everyone. We were escorted to our rooms and had the staff following with our luggage. The rooms were magnificent, roomy for Japan and very elegant. Shower and tub were perfect, AC was perfect, as cold as you wanted it. If you encountered any staff in the hall, they immediately stepped aside and waited for you to pass, speaking and bowing. It was just amazing the level of respect from every single person. Beds were comfortable (for Japan), large pillows and large towels. This is a great place to stay in Tokyo

Top class services with truly going above and beyond your expectations, wonderful and beautifully presented breakfast buffet, of course the best location. Will definitely come back.

I am currently staying at the Tokyo Station Hotel, and wow, what a fantastic experience. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at, and I am traveling a lot, staying at various 5 star hotels. The breakfast is outstanding, both in terms of quality, quantity and dish variation. I love the room and the style. In particular, I like the classy details -- everything is also extremely well thought out with numerous luxurious details that you might not think of at first, but that adds to the whole. The staff is very respectful and helpful (they even helped me get back my iPad that I lost in Fukuoka). The location is perhaps the best in Tokyo. I am going to be back here soon!

This is a luxury, elegant and sophisticated hotel. The services are amazing. We were here for our wedding anniversary and the hotel organized to take a wedding anniversary photo for us. The picture was put in a delicate frame and give us as a gift when check out. The breakfast is nice and you can enjoy the meal in a bright and beautiful restaurant which is on the top the train station. The room we stayed is right on the Tokyo Station and you can see the passengers walking inside the station from the window. The bed, pillow are so comfortable and relaxing. Strongly recommended.

At the lobby lounge service was quite slow. Staff were walking around but didn’t seem like they were attentive to customers and heads were bowed down more busy at their own things or looking at the floor rather than constantly observing whether customers were ready to order or not.

This hotel was absolutely amazing, it was in the perfect location right next to the station so in the mornings you can easily catch transport, the interior of the hotel was very modern and clean with the miniature version of the bullet train as decoration. I stayed at this hotel for a vacation and it was perfect. The rooms are spotless and the bathrooms have extra things like toothbrushes skincare kits headbands and more and the view from the rooms is incredible. I would highly recommend if you are going to Japan stay at this hotel 💗

Third time here and first time since the pandemic. The best location and staff. The Marunouchi location is what I like most. Miyuki and Marie attended to all my needs. They are the ultimate concierges. Breakfast is excellent, omelettes probably best in Japan. Also the Bar is worth a visit, however please book in advance as I could not get in a number of times. There is a legendary bar tender going strong after 60 years in the game.

Super convenient since its inside Tokyo station but you can't make a reservation so usually you will have to wait Many of the staff aren't too friendly Since its in Tokyo station would be nice if the staff could speak English

The service at The Tokyo Station Hotel is impeccable. It’s always a great experience for me staying here. The hotel itself is rich of history and décor shows the influence of Japan. Not to mention that the hotel breakfast buffet is one of the best I’ve had. The only thing I wish they had was prob an elevator that takes you right down to the JR train platform (🤣).

Excellent location with spacious rooms. Hotel staffs were very pofessional and helpful. The breakfast buffet was one of the best in Japan, don't miss the omelet. I have to do a luggage transferred and the staff make it really easy and smooth. Definitely would come back again!

It's right between the Marunouchi exits at the Tokyo Station, and easily accessible. The rooms are just the right size, clean and neat, and the beds are super comfortable to sleep on! Basic amenities are all provided in the bathroom. Staff are all friendly and courteous, as well as efficient and professional with their service. There is a lovely amount of attention to detail, where they use a different coloured lampshade to mark where the elevators are down the corridors, as the hallways are long. The bellhops will also take their time to introduce you to the facilities to the hotel as they guide you to your room, and will even help to give an introduction to your room! It is a small luxury hotel so expect room rates to be higher, but I find it worth the price and accessibility!

Service was awesome, everyone we met were super nice/polite. Location is unbeatable, close to everything and has access to everything. I liked how there is a Hitachino craft beer store right downstairs in the station. Atrium breakfast was insane, felt like there were over 50 items in total (each item was small so you can enjoy all of them without getting too full). My favorite were the eel chirashi with sticky rice thing, and their take on eggs benedict. Def do the atrium breakfast if you can, worth the 5250 yen when I visited (6:30AM - 11:00am). I really enjoyed my gym experience here. Just wanted to give info on gym, which is great. Its 1000 yen per use (this price is not daily/24 hours, its 1000 yen per each time you visit so you have to pay again if you go back again same day). You can charge this to your room so bring your room key. I think there are other members that go there that are not hotel guests but not too sure on that. Operating hours is different depending on weekday vs weekend vs holiday. They do close on the 3rd Sunday of the month, I believe. - bring your own clean gym shoes/shirt (they will ask if you have a separate shirt to change into). I think you have to take off your shoes if you go into locker. It's super clean and everyone likes to keep it that way. - you have to wear a mask at all times, except if you are on treadmill. Machines like the smith machine or treadmill is 20 min per use (you write your name down and then put the time 20 min from the start of use, or earlier if you won't use up to 20 min) - smith machine does not require spring collar/clip if you put on just one plate on each side, but they require the spring collar/clip if you put on 2 or more plates to use. Again, smith machine is limited up to 20 min each use. Btw the smith machine is straight and not sloped. - always wipe down your weights/machine after each use. - staff is super nice and helpful, they helped me put away weights or put on weights between sets - they do provide a towel for the gym, which you will return at reception after each time you visit. - you do have to sign a form that states you have no health issues, and that you have not been kicked out of gyms previously, you get along with other members, and you don't yell/grunt loudly haha. you keep this form if you are staying multiple days so you can just bring it back next time and don't have to fill one out each time Thats all I have, hope it helps others looking for specific info on gym. I think its worth the small fee of 1000 yen as a hotel guest since they have enough machines to get by for a short visit. Smith machine has 4 total 20kg plates, 4 10 kg weights, 4 5kg plates, 4 2.5 kg plates, and 2 small ones (think those are equivalent to the 2.5 lbs back in the states). Free weights are up to 24KG (53lbs) by increments of 2kg I believe. Two inclined benches (one for smith machine, one for free weights area). The overall gym area is a little small so I always try to go during off hours like lunchtime or late morning. I went once during late afternoon and it was more packed. But the 20 min on machines makes it so no one is hogging a machine for prolonged periods of times. Oh and the other members/people using the gym are all really respectful and nice. They always give you space if you are nearby using weights. Thanks for making my stay a great experience.

As always, the Tokyo Station Hotel provides outstanding accommodations and superior service. Rooms are furnished beautifully, with every need met. The staff is warm, welcoming, efficient, and offers personal service. The Hotel is extraordinarily convenient, and remains a highlight of each trip.

TLDR: Will return Room: Dome Side Superior King View: Restored dome above and meeting point of the Tokyo Station below Location: Very convenient - it’s right above Tokyo Station in Marunouchi. Can’t comment on the subway as we didn’t roam any further than Ginza (15 minutes away on foot). Lots of delicious food within minutes Bed: Medium Firm - very comfortable for me Pillow: Feather pillow - very fluffy and comfortable for me even though I usually sleep on a contour pillow at home Amenities: Thoughtful - thick room slippers, bathing scrub, USB + international travel plug at the bedside tables Breakfast: N.A Even Better If: the inhouse tea blend was included in the tea selection // there was more than 1 towel rack in the bathroom

The hotel is a destination. That’s for sure. And it is above the tracks so you will hear the wheels rumbling. The corridors are epic in length so use the alternative entrances and exits. And the housekeeping was hit and miss. Great location for the city transportation. And the bar makes some tasty cocktails too. ¥1000 a day to use the gym.

The Tokyo Station Hotel is one of the nicest places to stay in all of Tokyo. The service is better than almost any hotel in the world - even for a hotel in Japan! The rooms are first class. All of the amenities you could possibly want. The location is in the middle of one of the most vibrant cities in the world. Get off the train and step into your hotel. About a million places to eat within 1000M. Truly a classic hotel experience. We'll be back.

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Room was super comfortable, luxurious & quiet. Loved the location away from the crowds of the day. All staff are extremely polite, helpful & attentive. We particularly enjoyed the Bar Café Camellia, which serves wonderful cocktails, wine & offers a small menu, all items we tried were excellent. Bar Oak serves first class cocktails.

Beautiful rooms, bathrooms with actual marble (a rarity even in 5* hotels in Japan) very comfortable bed. Wonderful staff and surprisingly really quiet considering it’s in one of the busiest train stations in the world, one of my favorites hotels in Japan.

I recently stayed at the Tokyo Station Hotel and unfortunately had a negative experience. While the decor is elegant, the size of the rooms was very small and did not feel worth the price. Additionally, the service was very disappointing. The staff did not communicate effectively and even sent me to the wrong destination in a taxi, resulting in an unexpected and expensive fare of nearly 9000 yen. It was frustrating to discover that they didn't understand English but pretended to, causing this inconvenience and added expense. Overall, I would not recommend staying at the Tokyo Station Hotel due to these issues. While the location and decor are nice, the poor service and small rooms make it not worth the price. I hope that the hotel can improve their services in the future for a better guest experience.

This is vintage and elegant. Straight out of a fairy tale, next to the train station. Infact i got confused if a hotel inside a train station or vice- Vera. The skyline outside is also majestic, plenty of open spaces.

If gorgeous turn of the century architecture and boutique hotels are your thing, then this is the hotel for you. The hotel is quaint, intimate, well connected and luxurious. It has character and history. Def one for my must return list.

  • 3/5 Kevin B. 6 months ago on Google
There is no doubt that this is a special hotel being of cultural importance and history. The location is excellent, right at the station so that it is very easy to catch any train to any destination from Tokyo station. The rooms are small but are very attractive with extremely high ceilings. Ours was a dome room which, unfortunately, didn't have an outside view but looks out onto the station forecourt which made it rather claustrophobic for us. The main issue is one of value for money. At the high price we paid we did not think that the hotel offered value for what we paid. There are other hotels in similar proximity which are much cheaper. True they would not be of such cultural and historical interest but as on holiday you don't spend that much time in the room, would have been a more economic solution.

Booking a hotel at a train station, I would not have expected this! Although the hotel is huge, it feels somewhat intimate and the staff is probably the reason for that. Already before we arrived, we got extremely valuable assistance from the concierge (Marie Antoinette). The newly decorated hotel is very beautiful and full of pretty details. Food is wonderful. If you plan to move on with Shinkansen, the location could not be better. Highly recommended!

Great service. The building itself is very nice, with nice interior finishes. Our room (single queen) was small, but it had high ceilings and a large washroom. The hotel is very long so some walking may be involved getting to and from your room. Great central location.

Super-team at the concierge. They reply to every email promptly and always get the hardest bookings at the restaurants we chose. The hotel is pure class and everyone is very friendly. Room is on the small side but this is Tokyo! A+++

Best hotel in Tokyo ever. Love the character of the hotel. This hotel gave me the real privacy feeling. Great service. Nice view. Just so love this hotel and will be back again and again for sure whenever I have a chance. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎋 The hotel located in a Tokyo train station. Very easy to shop, eat and take a train.

My favorite hotel to date and it means a lot. I have been through many 5-6 stars hotels and many hostels but this one clearly standout. It is a perfect blend of a building rich in history with the great Japanese hospitality. The room was big and the facility was great. The staffs were extremely nice even I dress in street wear and I can see a big difference from 5-stars chain hotel. It might be a reason I want to come back to stay in Tokyo station hotel.

Location! Location! Location!!! Located in right next to the train platform entrance of Tokyo station. Super convenient. Beautiful hotel. Trains goes around but inside hotel was very quiet. I stayed with my husband and 2 little daughters at junior suite. It was decent size of room and high ceiling. Bed was little small but comfortable. Their breakfast and room service were delicious. Staffs were very polite and friendly. I’d love to stay again.
