Great history, good service and quite well placed. But that is all. For its price the hotel really need a lifting (everything is outdated). Gym (not up the the level of a 5 stars hotel, light to no air conditioning) and Pool are not complementary (!). Breakfast at 17th floor not opening late enough (can’t enter after 9am even on weekends). I stayed for 10 days and won’t recommend or come back.

The hotel was old yet it still is elegant. Their hospitality and excellent service is next to none. The staff were really nice and courteous. They really treat you like royalties. They’re always ready to assist you whenever you need them. Although, the hotel was old, the rooms are refurbished. However, the bathroom tiles were not squeaky clean. The pillows weren’t as comfortable as I hoped they’d be. Also, It was unfortunate that we weren’t able to use their pool because it was crowded.

THE IMPERIAL HOTEL IS TOO OLD. THERE IS NO ESCALATER AT A13 BUT ONLY STONE STEPS FROM THE HIBIYA LINE EXIT. THE FOOD ALTHOUGH GOOD TO LOOK AT, WAS UNEATABLE. THE IMPERIAL HOTEL CHEF AT THE BANQUET SERVE VERY OLD FEMALE 🐄MEAT. ANY BEEF ESPECIALLY JAPANESE MEAT SHOULD BE TENDER AND A4 OR A5. VERY SHOCKED AND VERY UPSET.

This is without a doubt the best hotel in Japan. From staff service to the cleanliness to the amenities, the Imperial Hotel impresses every step of the way. They have phenomenal room sizes with modern technology while still having a traditional style decor that is absolutely gorgeous. I stayed here on my last night in Tokyo and I am so thankful and happy to have experienced this wonderful hotel. If I could have, I would have spend every night in Tokyo here. The location is great with a big park right in front of the hotel and lots of places to eat with shopping just around the corner. My only complaint was the construction slightly ruining the view from the room but nothing a little curtain fixes right up. The staff is exceedingly helpful and showed the way to the room while carrying up our luggage. They also assisted in mailing some postcards and taking photos. I unfortunately did not get the chance to try the dining, but the menu looked great. If a luxury hotel is what you are seeking, look no further than the Imperial Hotel.

- komfortable Zimmer. Preis natürlich gehoben bei *****

Had their buffet, it was one of the best food I've ever had. Their curries are to die for. Solid roast beef and they have a wide selection of desserts from warabi mochis to short cakes and sesame balls. Definitely worth the price and recommend to anyone looking for a special day.

Fabulous hotel! Friendly and professional staff, very helpful. Excellent location situated between a park and bustling city centre area with shops and (local) food. Close to metro station, always taxi's available in front of the hotel. Great rooms and fully equipped bathroom. Good in-house restaurants. Good and diverse breakfast (on top floor).

It would be excellent if we could have been provided with a king-size bed room. There was none available. I understand Japanese couple preferred twins. In other parts of Asia, couples preferred to sleep together in the same bed.

Imperial Hotel is always a pleasure to visit. The service is top class and and especially the bar/lounge area close to the reception has a super atmosphere. The only small minus is that it takes ages to check-in as they always have to fill out tons of papers.

This is one of the finest hotels in the world. I have stayed several times over the years and love it's understated charm - no glitzy, in-your-face, tacky modern 5/6* - just old fashioned virtues. Great indoor pool and excellent breakfast - more quality than variety, but no worse for that. One criticism - the buffet breakfast is by far the most popular option and as stated, it is v good, but there can be lines to get in as soon as it opens - as the hotel has grown, they need to increase capacity - in a top 5* you should not have to queue for breakfast. Also, a couple of blocks behind the hotel, under the railway line, great eating options - make sure you find them!

This review is made on the security transport POV. The staff is top notch. They know how to deal with special requests related to the needs of a VIP with a security transport team. Their professionalism and kindness always make a mission to the imperial hotel enjoyable.

It is best to get off at HIBIYA station although there are many other routes. The lounge was kind of crowded. Got free wifi by asking the reception. The coffee and cake was Yen 3300 per person. I would rather reserve a table instead of waiting next time.

I loved this place, Had a nice pool and view of the city. It is close to shops and is very conveniently located. Only thing is the rooms are a little outdated. Otherwise great place to stay while on holidays or as a tourist.

Japanese hospitality at its best. Great spaces, incredible welcoming staff, central location accessible by walking to central stations, Ginza, shopping and restaurants. Hotel amenities are excellent. Marginal spa.

Husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our month long honeymoon throughout asia in spring 2019. The hotel is in an excellent location within Tokyo with high walkability. The staff were all warm and polite. We upgraded our room but it was a further distance from the hotel lobby (i believe it was in a new wing of the building). For Tokyo standards the rooms were spacious but after staying in Seoul Korea, downtown Hong Kong and Maldives before here, it all felt a bit dated and old school.

Didn't stay here, just visited. Amazing 5 star Frank Lloyd Wright designed hotel frequented by movie stars in the 50s. Marilyn Munroe and Charlie Chaplin stayed here.

Definitely a 5 star hotel. We went during Christmas season last year and there was a very beautiful Christmas tree in the main lobby. Great for taking a few family pics.

Went back to this hotel where we had stayed over 35+ years to the roundevous Lounge in the main reception area, and had some lovely sandwiches and coffee. Great service as atmosphere and surprisingly reasonable.

4.5⭐️:the missing 0.5 ⭐️ is for the lack of better gym facilities as it is pretty old and outdated and you have to pay an additional fee each time you use it. Service is impeccable and there are staff at almost every corner of the hotel guiding/greeting you. The housekeeping service is also excellent, they come when requested and keep everything so clean and tidy. There are many restaurants in the hotel itself (I think 12) but we found it better to take a short walk to Ginza or Shimbashi nearby for more options. It is just a 10-15 min walk to the main shopping street and also facing Hibiya park. I left my medication in the room and we only realised it an hour after check out and Mr Yoshizawa kindly made sure to retrieve it safely for us.

The hotel is too expansive for what can offer. Rooms and floors are old, same with bathrooms. Gym equipment so old it is not possible to use them and not get inquiries particularly the treadmills. They took our extra blanket out because we were only two people so they didn’t think we might get cold and need them. No extra body wash and shampoo for room service. No iron in the room. We called front desk and after half an hour someone showed up. Not worth the price tag at all.

The Imperial has a long and rich history in its heyday world Presidents and Hollywood elite guested here, to this day you can see why, and it was such a pleasure to have been able to stay here, although we felt severely underdressed as everyone was in suits, gowns, or traditional attire. If vou ever staved at The Plaza in NY, The Windsor in Melbourne, or the Ritz in London, you will know what to expect here, a treat. The hotel is next to the Imperial Palace and in the middle of Ginza! It's close to the most high end shopping as well as affordable shops, food is abundant, tourists sites are within walking distance or a short drive away, there is a taxi queue at one of the entrances to the hotel with taxis on standby 24/7! People rush to shinjuku or shibuya when they visit Tokyo, but Ginza and the Imperial Hotel has everything you're searching for!

Had to stay here for six weeks on a press check at Dai Nippon for work. It's an older hotel within walking distance to the Imperial Palace, the subway and a nice park. It's a good value for the money. There was a big earthquake my very first night in Tokyo followed by a few aftershocks. The building made it through just fine.

Stayed here for a week in 2008. Decently sized room, gorgeous lobby with plenty to do. The restaurants and bakery here are quite good. The strawberry shortcake was excellent.

There is a FedEx box on the first floor (to the left when you get in) - it is not very big, be careful with big boxes! Reception staff was very helpful, showed me the box, printed an additional page and was super supportive! 5 starts - big thank you!

It was excellent to get back to the hotel after more than 2 years away. The level of service was consistent with my memory and excellent. The care of all the staff was evident through check in, dining, maintenance and cleaning. An excellent experience all round. Thank you
