If you are going to Japan make sure that you go to Hiroshima. Catch the bus from the station and get off at the A Bomb Dome stop. It is quite confronting but everyone on earth should see it, to make sure that it doesn't happen again. Stop to look at the eternal flame, the flame that will not be extinguished until all nuclear weapons on earth are gone, and wish for the day that this will happen. Then, our earth will live in peace. Exploring the Museum.. It is opens for 24 hrs everyday. The wander through Hiroshima peace Memorial Park to put into words. Sadness engulfs the area and a strange aura exits 73 yrs after the atomic bomb, "The Little Boy", was dropped. A reminder of suffering, a memorial for the dead, and a strange overwhelming calm shimmers across the park. I visited with my friends there. We walked together and talked about the repercussion after any war. Really Horrible..! About the A-Bomb Dome and the Museum.. This is one of the must-see sights of Hiroshima. There are many lovely statues and memorials within the park. All paying respect to different things, some are decorated with colorful origami cranes.Really lovely place. Facts.. It is enormous history told very effectively which left high impact on all of us. If history is not really your thing, or all the war memorials make you too sad, the park is always good for a stroll or to relax. so font worry. Go and mesmerize the beauty. I hope this information will be useful for you.

Perfect blend of history, culture, and nature. (+) The park itself is quite expansive. It could definitely be a full day's event, especially if you visit the museum. (+) There are loads of statues, towers, and significant markers spread across the park, so there is something to see / read / learn at every turn. (+) There is so much open space, it's an ideal place for a picnic. Bring a blanket and pick up some food and enjoy the scenery. There are also many benches along the river facing the Atomic Bomb Dome. (+) There are clean public toilets throughout the park and a few vending machines with drinks. (+) Even thought the site has a horrific historical significance, it's remarkably peaceful and beautiful

Peace Memorial Park - Hiroshima is a park dedicated to commemorating the victims of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. The park is located very close to the center of where the bomb exploded, and inside the park, you can find lots of monuments, museums and ruins related to this tragic event. Although the park is well maintained and beautiful, the visit is definitely not a relaxing journey. Instead, I would say I learned a lot about the event from this visit. I feels sad and moved by the stories and testimonies of the survivors and the victims. If you want to learn more about the event, I highly recommend you to visit both of the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. They have exhibits and displays that show the impact and aftermath of the bomb, as well as some of the personal belongings and artifacts of the people who were affected. Overall, I would say it is a very meaningful place for people to remember what happened in Hiroshima and learn from the mistakes we made in the past. You could spend at least half a day to explore the park and the surroundings. Lastly, please be respectful and quiet when you are in the park, as it is a place of mourning and reflection.

One can’t help but be touched when visiting the museum. I’d say it’s a must see, however acknowledge it may be too difficult for some. The exhibits and grounds are well done. A big downside is the crowds. There are so many people it is difficult to fully appreciate and have time to reflect.

A must visit place in Hiroshima, a landmark not only in Japan but for the entire world. A heart wrenching tour takes you through the pain people of Hiroshima went through during the nuclear bomb explosion in world war ll. You will definitely find peace as it’s name says. I request people to not visit this place just like another tourist place instead spend atleast an entire day roaming around, sitting on benches, or even cycle around the place to see the beauty that it has turned into over the past years. Thanks to the management and team for preserving such important historical objects and memories.

This place is one of the most human locations of earth. The museum and the memorials in the park are a must-see for every Japan trip, no matter where you are in Japan. It is a quite place where you are in the mood for deep thoughts, which is a really really valuable experience for me. Sending out peace to the world from Germany.

Very beautiful park a great place to brace yourself before you enter the museum or to collect yourself after you have left the museum. Everything is very tidy and kept neat. It is a very big area so even if there are a lot of people it doesn't feel very crowded. I saw some people jogging as well 🤷‍♂️ There are various memorials around the park with small plaques explaining their meaning. The park is also pretty well connected to the surrounding area 👌👍

The atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki are blots on world history and the Peace Memorial Park serves as a reminder to the human race to always strive for peace and stay away from war at all costs. The park is designed around the Dome which is the remnant of the main community building in the city. The skeletal remains of the centre portion of this building have been preserved exactly as the day of the bombing and gives you a frisson of sadness when you view it. There are various other installations dedicated to the children who lost their lives in the war as well. Each memorial and cenotaph reminds you of the horror of war yet gives you a feeling of peace now. The colourful paper cranes hanging from each monument are symbols of peace and break the feeling of sadness and fill you with hope. The museum is stark but what I loved was the memorial prayer hall with its simple design of the clock stopping at 815 when the bomb hit the city. It can move you to tears. The river flows peacefully, school children ask you questions in English for a school project and people from all over the world look thoughtful as they contemplate the horrors of war and decide perhaps to find more peace in Thier lives. The Peace park serves it purpose with this manifestation. I think every single person in the world should be made to visit this memorial and maybe the world will be as one.

An important visit and deeply moving. The museum itself is really emotional and so are the monuments, especially the children's memorial filled with origami cranes from all over the world. The setting is beautiful too. You can spend an afternoon quite easily to really give the park the attention it deserves.

Somber, beautiful, peaceful, introspective, humbling. What a demonstration of resilience despite a ridiculously horrific event. Make sure to take time to tour the museum. I've been to dozens of exhibitions but this is something entirely different. Informative, respectful, emotional, and inspiring. Let's not do this again. This area, in general, is a convenient area to stay with close access to the water taxi to Miyajima, a local food/shop forum, football stadium, and hotels.

Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima is a poignant testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of devastating tragedy. Established to commemorate the victims of the atomic bombing in 1945, the park serves as a serene oasis amidst the bustling city. The park's design seamlessly blends natural elements with poignant memorials, creating a contemplative atmosphere. The Peace Memorial Museum within the park provides a comprehensive historical narrative, offering visitors a deep understanding of the impact of the atomic bomb. The A-Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a haunting reminder of the destructive power unleashed on that fateful day. Visitors often describe the experience as emotionally powerful, with the Children's Peace Monument and the Memorial Cenotaph evoking profound reflections on the consequences of war. The park's commitment to promoting peace and nuclear disarmament is evident through various events and activities held throughout the year. While the park is a somber reminder of the past, it also inspires hope for a future free from nuclear threats. A visit to Peace Memorial Park is not just a historical exploration but a deeply moving and educational journey that encourages contemplation on the importance of peace and unity.

There are three major places to see in peace memorial park all are in one park. The best way according to me first go to the museum to understand what exactly happened in past and then go the other places. One may understand that after darkness there is always light. I would say this is “Motivational City”

So much history, so much empathy and so much of let's never let this happen ever again. It's a must visit if you are visiting Hiroshima and it's located right near the water and surrounding central city area. Make sure you stop by the A-bomb dome, the Hypocenter and the Peace Memorial Museum. I met lots of friendly locals who offered their time as free guides and walked me around the grounds which was very humbling as an American visitor.

A solemn reminder of why nuclear armament should be banned in this world. The park itself is well designed and there are several points of interest that is within walking distance. If you’re a history buff, it will take around half day to explore everything in the park. Easily a must visit when you’re in Hiroshima city. Accessible by many public transport options.

This place would mesmerize you and will make you cry if you are a compassionate to the victims of World War 2. In 1945 total population of Hiroshima was 350 thousand of which 140 thousand died in the same year. Can you believe a single bomb had wiped out almost 50% of the total population? This park is well maintained and visited by thousands everyday remembering the curse of World War II. There are several monuments that depicts the history and culture of Hiroshima in 1945. The park, musuem and everything in here is totally accessible. So this place could be a great place for people with disabilities. I have seen school students in groups with their teachers visiting the park. This is good to create a sense of saying NO to nuclear weapons. It's a lifetime achievement if you paid a visit to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.

So much history and emotion here. Dome, museum, garden, flame, ponds, children’s peace monument, sculptures, monuments. Powerful and reflective memorial to one of mankind’s darkest days. Peace bell that you can ring, and hear it echo throughout the park. The one thousand origami cranes exhibit and the statue of Sadako Sasaki holding a crane in the park is not to be missed. A-bomb dome is a sombre place to reflect.

Quite a peaceful and humbling experience. Should visit at least once if you’re in Japan to experience the peak of human atrocity that was caused due to this. Monument has a lot of sections with literature, museum, infographics all over the places to explain their significance, and many of them will move you.

I couldn't keep my eyes from watering as I was looking at the destruction caused by one small bomb. There is no excuse for using such weapon against human beings. Some will say that it stopped the war. Absolutely incorrect! There was no need for it, in my opinion, and the US government just needed a show of power to others and used the excuse of war to do so. There is a bell in the park that anyone can ring, but not many can hear it...

I'm not even sure where to start other than to say that I was absolutely lucky. Unfortunate to be able to visit and experience the park. Whether or not you're a history buff or not, this is definitely a place everyone should visit to truly start to understand how lucky we are to live in peace and how precarious that peace definitely is. The best thing is that everyone in the area is so respectful and understanding and taking the time to read and understand what happened less than 80 years ago.

Set to one side is the bomb museum. Near by is the victims memorial museum that contains the stories, history, and names of 400,000 people who were impacted by the bomb. Then there are various other monuments and memorials, set in lovely park grounds. You can return to the main museum to catch a bus or proceed out the other end to catch a street car. All in all, a very somber place for reflection.

Very moving and peaceful. Takes a good 3+ hours to see everything and walk the park and peace memorial. Took the hop on hop off bus from Hiroshima train station (200Y one way - and you can use your JR / suica card if you have one for the bus). 200Y per adult for the peace memorial as well. It's a beautiful city.

Such a chilling place to visit and experience the history. I highly recommend the actual museum as well. It’s only about ¥300 admission and features so much: artifacts, stories of locals during the war, post war era, and more. The park is lovely too with lots of walking and things to see. A beautiful place to watch the sunset and reflect.

Definitely one of the most thought-provoking places I've visited. The park itself is very clean, neat and calming. The museum is obviously heartbreaking, but I think everyone who has the chance should visit. A very important place, and it's quite special seeing how the city rebuilt itself into such a welcoming and beautiful city. Just beware of the crowds - if you show up to the museum later on in the day you may have a very long wait. I would also recommend paying a visit to the Atomic Dome.

Have a relaxing walk through the park, thinking how about 80 years ago everything around was destroyed by the atomic bomb. Pay a tribute to the numerous monuments remembering the different groups of victims. Hear the bell calling for peace in the world, look at the only surviving tree, visit the museum and memorial. This place is a must see for raising awareness about nuclear war. Make sure to get enough time.

Learn a lot about Hiroshima's nuclear bomb disaster from the guide that accompanied us through the park tour. This park should be a reminder for us to maintain the world peace and avoid the armed conflicts. Hope all the impacted souls can rest in peace.

We did not set aside the appropriate amount of time to fully appreciate the entire park. The day was very cool and windy and did not help since we didn't dress for the weather. I absolutely intend on returning several times to be able to see all of the park. Initially, upon arriving, I could tell parking was going to be an issue. We were fortunate enough to find a space in a lot very close. I imagine on a day with warmer weather parking, it will be very challenging.

Definitely worth a visit. You cannot enter the dome building and its not the exact location of the bomb hit (approx 400m away) but it's a humbling experience. I highly recommend visiting the museum but go very early in the morning or later in the afternoon as it was extremely busy.

Visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Site during cherry blossom season was a moving and beautiful experience. The cherry blossoms added a poignant touch to the site's historical significance. It was busy when we went on the weekend around April midday but there was a huge amount of respect for the memorial park despite a lot of people. The museum was free entry and pretty quiet. It was very moving confronting being there but I also think it's important to remember the terrible history and reflect. The A-Bomb Dome stood as a powerful symbol amidst the serene park. The visit offered a moment of reflection and a call for peace. Highly recommended going if you're interested in history or curious on the events that took place OR wanting to pay respects to the ancestors who's lives were sadly taken that day.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is a tribute to the victims of the atomic bomb that devastated the city in 1945. The park features a number of monuments, including the A-Bomb Dome, which stands as a stark reminder of the destructive power of nuclear weapons. Visitors can also explore the Peace Memorial Museum, which offers an account of the events leading up to the bombing and its aftermath. The park is a powerful symbol of hope for a peaceful future and serves as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of tragedy. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, located in the center of Hiroshima city, is a testament to the devastation caused by the atomic bombing on August 6, 1945, and a symbol of the desire for world peace. The park is a vast area covering over 120,000 square meters, and it contains various memorials and monuments that serve as reminders of the horrors of war. One of the main features of the park is the Atomic Bomb Dome, which is the ruins of the former Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall. The dome, which was almost directly beneath the explosion, has been preserved as a reminder of the atomic bombing and the destruction it caused. The skeletal structure of the building stands as a powerful symbol of the resilience of the human spirit in the face of tragedy. Another notable monument in the park is the Peace Memorial Museum, which displays exhibits and artifacts that convey the horrors of the atomic bombing. The museum is a somber yet informative experience, with exhibits that include personal accounts of survivors, photos, and artifacts that tell the story of the bombing and its aftermath. The park also contains numerous other monuments and memorials, including the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, which houses a register of the names of the people who died as a result of the bombing. The Flame of Peace, a symbol of the hope for a world without nuclear weapons, burns perpetually in the park. Visitors to the park can walk around and reflect on the solemn atmosphere of the site. Many people come to pay their respects and offer prayers for the victims of the atomic bombing. The park also provides a place for people to contemplate the horrors of war and reflect on the importance of working towards peace. Overall, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is a poignant and moving experience. It serves as a powerful reminder of the devastating consequences of war and the importance of striving for peace. A visit to the park is a must for anyone interested in learning about the history of Hiroshima and the atomic bombing, as well as for those who wish to pay their respects to the victims and support the cause of world peace.

REALLY PEACEFUL! The design of this park is fascinating. You can see everything ordered in one line, and recap all of what you've listened to and seen inside the muesum.

A lovely place to visit! The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is a large park surrounded by greenery and the Motoyasu River which flows along the side of the park. It is a lovely park to stroll around and is very well-kept. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is located in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park itself. The peaceful Memorial Park of Hiroshima located in the center of Hiroshima City is situated not too far from Hiroshima Station. It is recommended to travel by tram to the park and the ride would take approximately 15 minutes.

A beautiful part to remember an important lesson in history. A must see in Hiroshima. All of it, was just beautiful. The memorial hall has an elevator to aid wheelchair access.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park was very beautiful and haunting at the same time. There are many statues and signs dedicated to the victims of the Atomic Bomb from world war 2. The area is very beautifully kept and maintained. The Bomb Dome was very hard to look at and imagine the horrors of what happend on those spots during the war. There are many things to look and see when at the park, including the remains of the Bomb Dome, the Memorial to the dead, the eternal flame for the victims and peace. As well as a very large and moving museum. When my wife and I visited there were many Japanese high-school children doing tours there and we got the chance to help them with some of their English work! It was a very great and moving experiance overall. This is a recommended place when visiting Hiroshima.

Fantastic place to visit - it's a must visit for all peace lovers and also wanting to come close to history of the Hiroshima nuclear bomb and it's impact/ effect on people's life. Remains standing remind us of our human existence and how peace is important to seek and maintain. HIROSHIMA A-BOMB DONE and all the peace museum and parks is a MUST SEE in Japan.

What could I say that has not been already said by any person that visited this impressive place and museum ?! Perhaps could I mention that I just could not stop my tears from falling during the 3 hours I spent visiting this superb museum, a museum that was built and though so that humanity never forgets. An english friend of mine told me that it's a kind of duty to get there. I agree. In these times when destruction awaits us, where the atomic threat resurfaces, realizing what it really means to send nukes on other humans seems to me a good thing, especially for the younger generations who did not even know the Cold War . The surrounding park, the memorials and the remainings from the bombing are places worth taking the time to visit. They are in addition very well included in the modern architecture of this wonderful town of Hiroshima. Half a day is necessary to visit all places.

(Translated by Google) Due to the influence of the corona, the museum is closed and the dome cannot be seen due to renovation. It can't be helped because I went there while refraining from doing so. I could only reach out to the memorials for many victims, but I would like to come back after calming down. The rating will change when you visit again. Please understand that it is not a malicious evaluation. (Translated by Google) First of all, if you go by car, there is no free parking lot, so there are about two parking lots opposite the Peace Memorial Park, so I'd like you to stop there. It's right in front of you, so you can get there immediately even if you walk. There were various statues and it was a place that made you feel the history. We pray for those who died in the atomic bomb, those who died in the war, and those who died from the bottom of their hearts.

This is probably the most valuable sightseeing location in Hiroshima. From the museum down to the park, the wreath location, memorial, cenotaph, and the A bomb dome; I was impressed with everything I saw. Even though this area is entirely suitable for great photoshoots, it is important to understand the profound reason for it's existence and the need for the world to get to that point when nuclear weapons would be just a distant memory.
