Visited this location several times already and even fortunate to witness the anniversary of the end of the okinawan war with the Japanese Prime Minister in attendence. The location is full of history as well as capturing the memory of WWII. At this very location the battle of okinawa did end. Around June 22/23. Mabuni hill was the last Japanese stand with a cave nearby where 2 Japanese Generals took their lives. There is also a cliff called 'suicide cliff' where many japanese soldiers and civilians took their lives. Additionally, the ashes of 180k civilians who perished in the war are housed in beautiful memorials on mabuni hill. This whole area overlooks the ocean with breathtaking scenery.

A monument with the names of every personnel who was killed during the war in Okinawa. The foreigners names are written in their local language such as English and Korean. The name list is still being expanded to this day.

Visit this place and Honor the fallen of Okinawa. Let us hope WW3 never happens.

Very peaceful place full of trees, the breeze is very nice under the trees. Maintenance is given continuously. Now that is state of emergency (September 2021) the only activity that you can do is to take walks around.

Impressive and immense. Very powerful feeling when one is presented with the endless monument of the casualties of the battle on Okinawa.

This is a very beautiful monument to honor all who sacrificed during the Battle of Okinawa. Groups of Japanese students mingling with US Marines set a stark, yet hopeful contrast to what happened here so long ago. We have come a long way.

This was an very well put together memorial. It was a great experience for anyone wanting to gain a better perspective on Okinawan culture.
