Fugendake erupted in 1991. Heisei Shinzan, which was created at that time, While I can feel the momentum, I also feel a little eerie. After the cherry blossoms have finished blooming and mid-May, Nita Pass is in the season for Japanese aquarium (the prefectural flower of Nagasaki prefecture). It was hard to believe that this was the place where the eruption occurred. Beautiful flowers spread all over the slope. There is a ropeway from Nita Pass, You can easily climb up to Mt. Myoken. It's like walking in the air. Goldin week is a little early It's a shame, but you can enjoy the lush scenery at that time of year. In autumn, it is designated as a national natural monument. Autumn leaves spread all over the place. That's admirable. There are no obstructions around the ropeway, You can enjoy it almost 360 degrees. We highly recommend that you take a video of the scenery along the way!

The power of Heisei Shinzan right in front of you, the mountains around Unzen, the Ariake Sea...it's probably the best. It's a perfect mountain to work up a sweat on. It's been a long time since I went up there to see the autumn leaves. This time we went around Nita Pass Ropeway Entrance - Mt. Myoken - Mt. Kunimi - Kijintaniguchi - Pigeon Hole Divide - Tateiwa Peak - Kirihizawa Divide - Fugendake Summit - Momiji Chaya - Azami Valley - Ropeway Entrance. The weather was sunny and we were able to see some wonderful views up until the middle, but unfortunately the area near the top of the mountain was covered in clouds and the world was completely white. Well, I was able to breathe in a lot of delicious clouds...but this course also took about 4 hours with lunch and a break on the way, so I recommend it as a day trip course. There are also places along the mountain trail where warm steam is gushing out, so be sure to look for them. However, during this season, the parking lot at Nita Pass is full and traffic jams occur, so it may be better to climb from the bottom or from Mt. Kunimidake. I climbed it for the first time in a year and a half. We arrived at Nita Pass in the light rain of the rainy season. This time, the course is clockwise from Mt. Myokendake. If we go in the opposite direction, we will mostly be climbing. Now that the rain has stopped, there are hardly any muddy spots, making it easy to climb. However, the descent from the area where Mt. Kunimidake splits is quite steep, so please be careful. We arrived at Momiji Chaya without any difficulty. We worked our way up the last climb and reached the summit. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see Heisei Shinzan due to gas, but the wonderful view of the sea of clouds was amazing. Lunch with a view is especially delicious. Next time I will come again during the autumn leaves season. There were many people, young and old, men and women with children. It's easy to climb, it's thrilling, and the view from the top is spectacular. Please give it a try. I recommend it. Don't forget the minimum mountain equipment.

You can see Heisei Shinzan still smoky in front of you. Plants are slowly starting to grow on the mountainside. It might be fun to record it in photos every year.

We recommend a plan that takes you clockwise from Myoken-dake Station on the Unzen Ropeway and takes you to Myoken Shrine, Mt. Kunimidake, and Mt. Fugendake. You can aim for the top of Mt. Fugen from the direction of the wind cave, or you can climb from Momiji Chaya. From the top, Heisei-Shinzan can be seen right in front of you.

The Nita Pass circulation road was closed, but people who had come to climb the snowy Mt. Fugen were unable to enter the Ikenohara parking lot, so they parked in the golf course parking lot or on the side of the national highway. . Climbers will be happy if they can access the parking lot around the first station, and there will be no more street parking!

The top of the highest mountain in Nagasaki Prefecture⛰ It looks beautiful, but it's not easy to climb. There are several steep stone steps, and the view after climbing is amazing. The view from the top is recommended!

You can see the sea and the city, as well as Heisei Shinzan, but there are restrictions due to gas restrictions. The closest parking lot is the one with the ropeway, but there is a toll fee.

Ikenohara Garden → Nita Pass → Fugen Shrine → West Wind Cave → North Wind Cave → Hot Spring Cave → Fugendake → Kunimidake → Myokendake → Nita Pass → Ikenohara Garden Course This is a safe course that can be completed in less than 5 hours.
