For
first-timers,
the
outdoor
baths
can
be
scary.
As
soon
as
you
open
the
front
door,
it
feels
like
you're
in
a
bathtub.
My
wife
and
child
didn't
like
it,
so
I
parked
the
car
right
next
to
them,
asked
them
to
ride,
and
went
in
alone.
It's
within
10
minutes.
Even
the
outdoor
bath
had
a
lot
of
sulfur,
and
the
area
around
it
smelled
like
Jigokudani.Even
when
I
went
in,
there
was
a
lot
of
sulfur,
and
there
was
apparently
no
running
water,
so
I
just
came
out,
but
my
wife
complained
about
the
smell
of
sulfur
in
the
car.
Crying.
In
the
past,
Japanese
people
were
small,
so
I
guess
that
was
enough.
If
you
are
a
foreigner,
I
think
you
will
be
even
more
scared.
Young
women
may
be
reluctant
to
take
off
their
shoes
and
take
a
bath
immediately
after
opening
the
bath.
The
bathtub
is
so
small
that
four
men
can
fit
in
it,
so
it
might
be
best
to
avoid
bathing
during
the
bathing
hours.
It
wasn't
too
hot
and
went
in
easily.
