Tiny specialty coffee shops with a great selection of beans for pour-over. Unfortunately, the Panama Gesha that is on the menu was not available, but the black honey from Ethiopia was a worthy substitute. It had the almost jam-like sweetness of a naturally processed Ethiopian but much more elegance. Moreover, the café mocha was the best we've tried in Japan. There's no food. The place is tiny, with space for five or six people. Although it feels a bit cramped, it's still a pleasant experience. The owner is playing music from his vinyl collection. During our visit, we were listening to the The Byrds' final album from 1973.

Always in search for good oat milk lattes in Japan and this has got to be one of the best I've had so far. Swamp does it like a dirty latte where the espresso is pulled directly into cold milk - no ice used, resulting in an extremely velvety and smooth finish. The beans used here go so well with the natural sweetness of the oat milk! Believe me when I say its addicting! The pour over seems popular with the other guests. Will give it a try next time

Let me tell you about coffee swamp. Your first reaction at the location is going to be “am I lost” followed by “I gotta get out of here” only to coclude with “oh there’s the coffee place!” The venue is cozy, hidden, unassuming, yet somehow magical. One man behind a counter making espresso drinks next to his vinyl machine playing American classics. Now on to the espresso: legit! If you’re like me, you like your espresso pure with the sour acidic taste. Then this is your spot! There other coffee options like pour over or cappuccinos. No food, and no pastry, just pure coffee. Overall, I’d give this swamp a 5/5 for it’s completely different vibes and quality espresso.

13th cuppa After seeing the Van Gogh exhibition, I wanted to grab a cuppa since I was feeling fancy. This hole-in-the-wall-ish place is smack in the middle of a residential area in Shinjuku just 8 minutes from the Sompo Museum of Art. The space is relatively small, but that's all in its charm. Legroom is much to be desired, and for a big guy like me, it's definitely desired, yet the sultry tones of the vinyl playing overhead more than compensates the lack of one's maneuverability. Prices are fair given the location, ambience, speed of service, and quality of coffee. Speaking of service, this is a one-person operation, so keep your expectations in check. The coffee was better than I had expected. Ethiopa Temiru Tadessa Chilaka Process: Honey Anaerobic. Don't ask what that means. I have no clue. It tasted divine. A sweet juicy body with slight citric tones finished off with a flowery aftertaste and a tea-like scent. To top it all off, the temperature was just right and the texture was so smooth that you'd think you were drinking soft mineral water.

A can't miss coffee shop in Tokyo. There's some chill music playing in the shop. It's extremely small with some tight seating, but the coffee is easily some of the best I've ever had. I ordered a simple cappuccino and it was the perfect blend of bitter and sweet. The owner is truly a master of his craft!

This was the best latte I had in Tokyo, simple, minimal, and so smooth. I would describe the vibes and atmosphere to be the same.

Had an oat flat white. One of the best coffees I've had and I'm a Brisbane snob. Texture and flavour was perfect.
