A very cozy restaurant with delicious food. Ingredients were locally sourced and seasonal, I had the weekly special (minced chicken, vermicelli with red miso) and my partner had the Oden meal (limited to 5 servings each day). Both were very filling as well as full of flavor. I loved the variety of side dishes that came with my set - stewed radish, potato salad with puffed rice + hint of mustard, and a leafy salad. Dessert was an in-house made soy pudding with dice apples and cinnamon. The food was very comforting and I imagine it'd be the type of home-style meal prepared in a Japanese household (where the family is skilled at cooking 😁) The interior was clean and cozy, a nice warm retreat coming in from the snow. The owner was very friendly and explained the English menu to us. There was a wall of beautiful bowls that they made themselves; we were asked to choose our favorite with which they served our rice. Coffee here was excellent, coffee beans are ground and brewed on order (pourover I reckon). They had Brazilian beans roasted locally (by a diff shop I believe). They also had local honey available but I didn't try it. Extremely good value and I would come again.

Amazing food and drinks. I had lunch one day and dinner next day. My favorite is “Oden”’that I ate 2 days in a row! Delicate taste, very light and healthy. It’s a great place for those who enjoys a clean atmosphere and Japanese food with a creative touch as they mix some ingredients carefully selected. The owners are very kind, explain the food, ingredients origin and you can choose the bowl to eat from his hand made pottery. Many ingredients come from the owner sister farm so they are very fresh. Menu in English available. The time I visited, there was no big sign to I missed the place. I hope they put a bigger sign to find it easier. It is my favorite place in the town and I wish to have this restaurant near my house. Definitely want to come back here again!

Homemade Japanese dishes, without skimping on the good stuff! Over two weeks of being in Japan, and this has been one of my absolute favorite meals! The atmosphere is chill, yet fun, and the dishes were beautiful. The owner was very friendly, but not overly enthusiastic- just a pleasant person. I’m hoping I come back to this area, and this restaurant just gave another big reason to try to make that happen!

Arriving in this town past noon, worrying that there won’t be restaurants opening, thankfully we found this place. It’s a very cozy, light hearted environment to spend time having meal. I can feel that the owner loves what he’s doing, so much detail is put into the food. And I’m amazed we get to choose the bowl for rice! I wish I could speak Japanese and talk to them for sure I ordered yoroshihiki set menu, gyoza, and plum soda

A new restaurant. Oden First attempt at Oden-Teishoku. Limited to 5 sets per day. The radish is so sweet. Hard boiled egg was beautifully done, tasted awesome too. Don Tried their famous Sutamina - Don. A mixed of minced beef & pork with tou fu served with rice in a bowl. Set came with a bowl of miso soup with vegetables, mushrooms. Price is reasonable at 880 yen. Gyoza Gyoza is average. A pleasant experience. Staff tried using Google translate to communicate with us. Conscientious effort. Lovely place. Washroom is sparkling clean. Shop sells their handmade rice bowl at 6000 yen each. Couple who run the restaurant are very friendly. Giving it a 5 star in view of the value. Full meal that only cost us 3900 yen for 3 set, 3 sides (oden, gyoza & potatoe pinion mash)

This gem is tucked away, but it’s a stop you must make. The owners/staff are incredibly nice, and the food is well made and delicious. The meal is set, the main dish is a single option that displays the artistry of Japanese cuisine without losing the integrity of the dishes. If you order a dish that comes with rice, you get to choose from their homemade ceramic bowls. The menu seems to change based on the reviews. It seems seasonal from what I can tell. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the design is minimalist with a touch it traditional elements that make the whole place extremely charming. Stop in if you can!

Every single dish from the salad to the Apple sorbet dessert was amazing! They were light yet flavorful. We got the teishoku set and the unassuming tofu Don - both were delicious. You get to choose your own bowl, which was a unique way to personalise the dining experience.

Stayed in Yudanaka for 3 days and this was my favorite restaurant! I ate here twice, and both my meals were delicious. The cooking feels homey and clean. I ordered the minced meat with veggie bowl and the oden teishoku. The owners were so kind and friendly! No english menu, but there is a photo page that they used to help explain what things are. A lovely touch: If you get a meal with a rice bowl, you get to choose a rice bowl from the wall of bowls, handmade by them ✨🍚 They also sell some artisanal goods for very reasonable prices near the cash register - I picked up some yuzu kosho to take back with me (they used it in the salad the day I went). A beautiful space, tasty food, and warm owners, I hope to be back again in the future.
