Good value for money! Certainly very fresh seafood on offer here. 2000 yen for twelve tickets (one ticket will likely be used for rice, but it’s up to you if you decide to forgo rice), and you get a bowl full of freshest seafood!

Build your own seafood don! 12 tickets for 2000 yen where 1 ticket will be used for rice. It’s fun to see what combinations you feel like having for your don.

Tickets system was quite unique from others fresh seafood market around Japan (I have been in all region by used Jr pass for bullet trains for several years ago before Covid-19). Recommended the end corner with elderly gentleman shop, this is the only place I could get firm uni and it was my last stop too. If I knew at the beginning I would rather went directly to this elderly gentleman and spend 90% of my tickets.

Nice small fish market which a block and a half from a bigger morning fish and vegetable market. An interesting place of building your own seafood don. You buy coupons sheet - 1100 yen for 5 coupons, 2000 yen for 10 coupons. A bowl of rice is 1 coupon and sashimi small plates are either 1 , 2 or 3 coupons. You just walk around to different stalls and exchange your coupons and build your own donburi. Soy sauce, wasabi, hot tea, napkins and chopsticks are available at the seating area. Clean up after you finish eating. The 2 bins are for clean bowls and all other garbage respectively.

Proceeded here after visiting Hirosaki Castle in 2019. This is a must seafood market if you are in Aomori. Traded my 1500 yen coupons with just one vendor and she gave me some stuff free.

We did the essential Aomori experience of a ¥2000 rice bowl with fresh seafood here. The small bowl of rice was more than enough and the vendors all spoke enough English that we did not need to use a translation app. Will be eating here again when we are back in Aomori later in the week.

The ticket prices has increased. 10 tickets is now 2,000 ans 5 tickets is 1,100 yen. It's more of an experience to make your own kaisen don when visiting Aomori and adding your own toppings so it's still worth it!

The place quite small and suitable for those sashimi lover here ~~~~ "mostly raw fish no cooked dishes here. But still not bad as they manage the place very well and clean. Totally doesn't have smelly fish market place

Really cool concept for a fish market. For 1300yen u get 10 tickets. And you make your own seafood rice bowl by going to each shop and pick whichever sashimi you want. Most cost one ticket but some special one cost two. The rice cost two.

Very unique take on how to enjoy fresh seafood in Japan. Buy some tickets, get a bowl of rice (1 ticket) and use the remaining tickets to find the freshest seafood in the market and have the vendors place them on top of your rice for a personalized Chirasi-don. Brilliant concept =)

Surprisingly quite a few locals eating here. You buy a booklet of 10 token's for 1300 yen and go around the market picking what you want after you get a bowl of rice for 1 ticket. Some items are worth more than others ie scallops over salmon but you can get everything that you like into your bowl. Not the cheapest way but pretty fresh and it's got the novelty factor.

I’ve read reviews where people said it is not cheap/gimmicky but my friend and I found it very worth it. 2000 yen for 12 tickets, 1 for rice and the rest for whatever dishes you want. It is only “not worth it” if you select from stores where they are not offering the freshest seafood. Otherwise, most items are a ticket only with uni up to 2/3 tickets. It is honestly fun and worth coming and you’ll see lots of locals there too!

Excellent place to make a customized seafood rice bowl. You buy a set of tickets that you then use to select a variety of different toppings. 12 tickets costs ¥2000. First you get rice small 1 ticket or large 2 tickets, and then you walk around the different booths choosing your seafood, each item costs 1-2 depending on what it is. You can also get miso soup or beer with your tickets. While we were there a man was at a booth selling and giving out samples of a variety of Aomori apple juices. There is a free water machine as well so you don't have to purchase a drink if you're okay with just water. Overall I think this is a great value for the money to get this fresh of sashimi.

A sashimi-don place run under a coupon system. You get 12 coupons as your “currency” for 2000 yen. Or you could do 1 coupon for 170 yen. First you proceed to get your bowl of rice (1 coupon) from a designated. You can also get miso soup (1 coupon, optional) from other shops. Some shops include seaweed while some had clams. With the bowl of rice, you then shop around for your sashimi and dishes. Each item cost about 1 to 2 coupons. My favourite shop is this (pictured). The saba (blue mackarel) from Hachinohe is the best. Unagi is good too. On my second visit, i literally spent all 10 coupons on the shop, and the lady included an extra slice of salmon. Appreciate the nice gesture.

The market is well-organized and easy to navigate. The fish is, of course, delicious! All of the vendors are really welcoming as well. Keep in mind, the price has increased (the ticket seller said since August 2022). 10 tickets is now 2,000 yen. Still, highly recommend for the experience!

750yen for 5 tickets and 1500yen for 10 tickets. You purchase the fresh seafood toppings with the tickets and make your own kaisen don. Super fresh and delicious, a must visit spot if you come to Aomori. 😻

Great breakfast place. The fresh fish are more or less the same among different stalls, but there is one that sells tamagoyaki and miso soup together. That is really good.

I have put up a photo of the store at the back which has the fattiest ootoro!! Look at the fine marbling of fat on the tuna 🐟 🥺 This concept is amazing. Buy tickets, get fluke fin, rolled egg, giant ebi, salmon, octopus, giant scallops, snow crab and more 🦀 ✨everything was sweet and fresh. Free hot hojicha on the side too 🍵 ❤️

Self made for only 4000 yen! Contemplating on getting another 1000 yen for prawns but decided not to be greedy. Definitely will be back again in next trip! NOTE: for 2023 new year travellers, this place is closed from 1 Jan to 3 Jan.

AMAZING PLACE in Aomori for fish don!! It’s extremely delicious and it’s a must try place while you’re in the city, the fish is super fresh and you can make your own don.

10/10 - very well organized and friendly fishmarket. You buy tickets at the entrance and trade them for items. I recommend you do one circuit of all the stalls first (it’s not big) and scope out what you want. Some people are selling generous portions of scallops for one tickets, others less generous. Top quality experience for seafood lovers.

Touristy fish market where you can try creating your own kaisen don. At ¥2,000 for 10 tickets, you are paying more for the experience then value for money. That being said, it's still something interesting to try if you happen to be in Aomori.

Quality of sashimi want as great as expected for a fish market in a coastal Japanese town. Most visitors at the off peak hour (330pm) we visited were tourists and prices reflected that too. JPY 2000 and JPY 1100 respectively for 10 and 5 coupons. Not terrible but not unmissable either.

Even a bit pricey but it's a good experience to adjust your own bowl

Unbelievable delicious fresh seafood nokkedon. Highlight: squid - sweetness and fresh aroma, no tough at all, salmon roe - salty and sweetness, good aroma, go well with rice, hotate - marvelous sweetness juicy and fresh aroma. Recommend

Here is the fish market center that serve fresh ingredient to your bowl. You can buy a lot of ticket to customise your dish and sit nearby to try a fresh sashimi bowl. This is a new experience of us to design our lunch. So much fun, must be try!

Nice little Fish Market. A must try when in Aomori. Very Fresh. Head over to the counter and purchase some tickets. Use 1 to get some rice and walk around to the many vendors and select what ever toppings you like. All the vendors are very friendly and very helpful.

Fresh seafood market. Buy ticket first. Use each ticket to get rice on bowl at first, then exchange ticket to get any of your favorite sea food ingredient combo from seafood vendor you like. Make your own seafood mix rice bowl. Have fun there.

Freshest fish! This rather small seafood market is a must do if you love seafood. Buy a ticket costing 1500yen, pick up a bowl of rice and go trade your coupons for beautiful fresh seafood. Tuna belly here is superb. There's seating areas where you take the bowl, pick up utensils and condiments then enjoy your food. Terrific and happy vibe from the vendors at this market.
