Stayed here for night but turned out to be a nightmare. Upon checking-in, annual lounge pass was being ignored and actually one of the staffs did not know what that actually is. Staffs need to be trained more properly regarding IHG milestone rewards. Furthermore, even though room was upgraded as a benefit of ambassador member, the room was poorly cleaned. The carpet was extremely dusty and dirty like seldom vacuumed. I didn’t aware of that until I keep coughing while staying in the room. The worst part was the wrongful information provided by staff. According to the staff’s information, the breakfast period in club intercontinental was until 11 am, so I visit there around 10:15; however, he didn’t mention that the last order time was until 10am — I didn’t have breakfast at all. I visited 9 Intercontinentals in Japan, and they would provide a club intercontinental letter with detailed service hour. This hotel is the only one that has no club intercontinental information letter. The only highlight is that the cake in the bakery was really delicious, will come buy cake and go stay at Pier8.

Great view from the window, close to the shops and the station, and I love the bathtub here, nice and big. The pillows are too soft, and the bathroom needs more lighting as it was quite dark. It would be nice if they have a humidifier in the winter as it gets really dry.

This is one of the having the best view hotel I have ever stayed in. From the room, I can see the harbour view, the Bay Bridge and the busy traffic in the bay. Both the night view and the sun rise view are stunning ! A great experience in watching it. I also took a lot of photos. The interior design of this hotel is very high class but maybe a little old style. Staff are friendly and very helpful ! I checked in on the 21st of December , maybe it's close to Christmas holiday , the check-in time took over 30 minutes, this is the only thing that disappointed me. Good on the whole. Close to subway station and the big Queen's Square shopping mall. A hotel that I want to come back again and again .

Lobby is huge; staff were polite. Room was spacious equipped with amenities including bottled water and slippers etc. The view outside was great during both day and night. A few minutes walk to a shopping mall and train station nearby. Decent wifi speed, well working air-con. The fridge was working just fine but was definitely not cold enough. The only improvement needed for this hotel is to get a convenience store downstairs. Many hotels do that.

Oh Yokohama Grand International Hotel, your name is so long, and as iconic a shape as you are, your years are getting a bit long too. The "Grand" must certainly be referring to the captivating bubble era largess that you flaunt so unselfconsciously. Good for you. Your rooms are decadently spacious and overall seem to be in pretty good condition. Naturally, they are spotless too. Thy location is good, I suppose, but only as a destination hotel. Views are quite nice. Line to check in was ridonculously long. The music box thing is either quaint, anachronistic, or passé. I suppose, like so much else here, it comes down to the eye of the beholder.

This was a filthy, smelly hotel. The non smoking rooms smelled of tobacco and there were ash trays in the room. The carpets were dirty. The food overpriced and nasty! This hotel is a low level love hotel taking up space in a beautiful part of Yokohama!

The service at this hotel was fantastic. I think housekeeping are ninjas. I never saw them but my room was cleaned every day. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. They have restaurants and shops in the hotel it self. There a train station less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. There a shopping center with multiple stores near by. The cup of noodles museum is near by and highly recommend you check it out for 500 Yen(less than 5 dollars) you can make your own cup of noodles.

It is a beautiful place to stay in, however a bit pricey. The walls in the rooms are super thin, so I could hear everything going on in the room beside us. You have to pay for the pool and the spa if you wanted to use it. The gym is for free however closes at 9 which for me is a little dissapointing. There’s a lot of things to do around the area, and there’s a great view from the room as we were looking at an amusement park. The parking is quite expensive compared to others, and the best mall around is the Lalaport mall which is 30 minutes away. The breakfast is paid separately. It’s a good hotel, however, just not for our family.

I have always wanted to try Intercontinental Yokohama. Finally did and was underwhelmed. It's the closest hotel to a western hotel. Giant rooms, giant hallways, beautiful lobby (and building in general), felt like a Las Vegas hotel. Even a mini bar. Get the room with a view of the ferris wheel if you must stay here. You can sit at the window sill and watch the view all night. Keep in mind all rooms are looking at the ferris wheel from the side. Location is bad. Intercontinental Yokohama is far away from everything. Almost all hotels are surrounded by restaurants and combinis, but at IHG Yokohama, you are stuck with the restaurants they provide which are relatively pricey. There are combinis (daily yamazaki/7-eleven), but you have to walk across the street. Service is bad. I was surprised how cold this hotel was. Even a cheap business hotel in Japan would greet you when you walk in and out. The hotel next to it, Tokyu Bay Hotel offered to take my luggage to my room and even came to the elevator door when I was checking out. I don't think I received a single greeting from anyone at IHG. My "toraberu waribiki" didn't work here and I asked why and they told me "the government said it starts on the 11th, but our hotel isn't equipped to handle it" ... ?? There was someone blasting music outside so we called the front desk and guess what... no one picked up. Pretty rare (or it has never happened) for no one to pickup the phone in Japan. I tried to sign up for the IHG credit card before booking. IHG was apparently hacked a few weeks ago so Chase stopped taking applications for IHG cards. IHG keeps telling me to talk to Chase why I can't apply and Chase is saying to talk to IHG. I'm glad I didn't sign up for theit card. Stayed at all 3 major hotels at the Minato Mirai station. IHG, Tokyu Bay and Royal Park. Royal Park Sky Resort room was the best. The service (one time I asked them to clean my room while I'm out for lunch and the maid ran to my room at 12pm to get it done on time!), view (so high up), location (go downstairs for TONS of food selections, literally just down the elevator). They also have a shuttle from Haneda to Royal Park just like IHG. Don't do IHG. It's only priced high for all the people that go to the convention there. If you can't do Royal Park Sky Resort, Tokyu Bay has good value too.

We just stayed last Saturday, it was our first time at Intercontinental Hotel in Japan. The overall quality was poor. The first impression with the Bell Captain was quite OK but the Check-in time was far too long and some of the clients have to wait over an hour. Once we stepped in our room, we were totally disappointed with the condition of the romm vs the price we paid for. House keeping was poor, Bath room and other decorations were totally out dated. The hotel room is small and Bathroom with odor smells. We had Buffet Dinner at the hotel as we do not want to spend so much time again to search for a parking space. The general quality of the food was not acceptable. The Pan Fried Steak was though and tasteless. The Fish on the Sushi looks liked something from yesterday. Even the basic bakery products like French Breads were though and not crispy. The number of food choices were limited. We had Buffet breakfast the next morning, it was just marginal acceptable with the value of other hotel for half of the price we paid for. We will never stay in any IGH hotel again.

I stay here for 5 nights, excellent services, great staffs well trained and convenient valet service. Valet parking cost 2,100yen/day. Get The water front room and breakfast. Room was a bit dated but very clean and have all amenities you need. Very recommend 👌

We only stayed for one night, but this is probably one of the best hotels we've experienced. The parking was a little hard to locate. It was underground and we need to turn around the building a couple of times before we figured it out. We booked the sea view room so we got to see the fantastic view from our window in the morning. The service was outstanding. The room was superb and so clean. The breakfast buffet was also world-class. Although it was just one night, this hotel served us right.

Stayed here for many times but first time encountered a careless staff and cigarettes-smoke room. The staff kept explaining the facility information in the hotel and ignore most of the greeting of Ambassador member. She even forgot to provide ambassador 2000¥ voucher, we later asked her to provide so. I don’t understand why she kept speaking English to me while I asked her the questions in Japanese. In addition, we received a non-smoking room with full of cigarette smell. I tried to open the window, and turned on the air purifier for three hours, but the smell was too strong to be faded. Even my coat and my dad’s blazer were covered with the cigarette smell. We took both piece of clothing to dry-cleaned after the stay. Didn’t the housekeeping staffs aware of the smell? Were they all wearing masks? Finally we changed the room successfully after 10pm, but the staff was too busy to carry our luggage during the process. After changing the room, no staff came to us explaining the issues we encountered, not to mention any apology. Hotel charges guest when they noticed guest smoking in the room for cleaning, I received a smoking room, am I allowed to charge hotel for purifying the smell in the room? I gave two stars because the food experience was still very nice. The salmon is tender and French toast is the best in Yokohama. I also wonder why they removed the big oven, but replaced a small oven that is only for toast, in the club lounge. They don’t want people to heat up the croissant??

The rooms here were spectacular, and I even had an 18th floor view. The curtains were true blackout, which helped my jet lag a lot. Absolutely loved the toilet, and the hotel toiletries were great too. Service was super polite and friendly, and if I'm ever in Yokohama again I will make sure to spend the extra to stay here.

This hotel is great. Centrally located in the heart of Yokohama and walking distance to Minitomorai train station, Queens Mall Cosmo land, Porters, Red Brick, and much more. The rooms are spacious, the linens and beds very comfortable and clean. The city side views of the Cosmo Ferris wheel and harbor. They have a smoking room located on second floor next to checkin desk. They have several restaurants on site and some shops too. They are attached to the convention center. A bit pricey but the location was worth it.

This hotel's quality and services are top level. Much better than others in the same area. I got great experience when staying here. It was very easy to access nearby area for shopping stores and good quality restaurants. I really like to visit back in the future.

Firstly the area the hotel is lovely next to the ocean. Away from busy city. You can walk down the boardwalk at night and it's so peaceful. When you walk through the doors you're impressed by a beautiful foyer. The staff who greet you at the entrance are very polite and friendly. We needed them to hold our bags for an hour prior to check in. They did that happily and at check in already took our bags to our room! We couldnt find the elevator and the concerige man was a bit grumpy to speak with which made me feel a little bit unwanted. Upon entrance to the room I was blasted with body odour from either the cleaner or the previous guests. I opened the window but could not escape the smell. My husband was embarrassed and told me not to complain but I just couldn't get comfortable in the smelly room. I went to the front desk and awkwardly told them it smelled and they jumped into action. Very apologetic and immediately gave me a new room on the club floor and sent someone up to move the bags. I was worried maybe this was just the smell of the rooms but as soon as I entered the club room I was happy. It smelled clean and it was beautifully made up. I was very thankful for their action on my complaint. The room on 28th floor had an amazing view of the ocean. We smoke vapes/e-cigarettee which do not cause any smoke or smell which was annoying to have to use a dirty little smoking room on second floor. The smoking room had no seats, the walls were dripping with nicotine and was just not nice. I think people may ignore the no smoking rule since this is such an uncomfortable space. Maybe they could make a seperate room for vaporiser e cigarettes that is cleaner as this doesn't create any filth. The bed was comfy but the pillows were too soft! It felt like no pillows at all. The little complementary items included a skincare set that was a nice touch. The bath was deep and comfortable and even had salts, the shower was big and had great pressure. The next morning we had the buffet breakfast and I was in heaven!!! I ate lots of little French pastries, strawberry and apple. Delicious!! A lady comes around constantly topping up coffee which was great. I was very happy with the breakfast. Overall the stay was nice but glad it was only one night.

Good hotel, price was cheap considering it is a 5-star hotel. The employees were good. Rooms were good as well and the view of the bay is great. Hotel is somewhat outdated but kept clean. They turned off the lights in the hallways though on the 20th floor, I am not sure what is up with that. Overall I would go again.

Please improve cleaning the finger prints on the windows from previous guests. They are more visible at night, that’s why the cleaning ladies didn’t see them during the cleaning time in the afternoon. Otherwise it’s a great hotel.

When entering my room late in the evening, I found out the sink in the bathroom was not clean at all. It had water stains, soap/greasy stains and fingerprints all over them. When I went down the next morning to ask if they could clean it (and shown the pictures) the gentleman asked if 'this isnt clean enough'? Well... No. I don't want to see how the last guest in the room before me used the soap and stained the sink. The mat in the bath had mould on it as well. They promised me they would clean it but this never happened, which is quite a disappointment for a hotel with this rating.

Big and spacious with beautiful atmosphere surrounding the hotel. The only thing I wish was the brightness of the room. It is little too dimmed with all lights on. Other than that, I love this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel but decided to check out early because the room did not meet my standards. I was in Yokohama for conference at the Pacifico and chose to stay at the Intercontinental because it was short walk. The rooms and hallways were super outdated. The hotel looks 1980s inside. The hallways felt hot as you walk to your room. The water pressure in the shower also sucked. I went to the Westin Yokohama hotel and loved my stay there.

I have stayed here twice. The service is always great. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. The hotel has many restaurants and shops. It takes just minutes to get anywhere from the Yokohama Grand. I definitely recommend this place. The views are amazing. We stayed in the city view room and had a perfect view of the Cosmo World clock.

Great hotel with a nice view of the Ferris Wheel along the straits of Yokohama. The room was a little dated but cleanliness and service was great. Close to the train station and minutes walk away to the nearest shopping mall with many eateries options.

Beautiful hotel. Beds are harder than American beds but I still slept well. Don't forget to have dinner in the Italian restaurant as well. It is great.

I’m staying with my family members including small kid at 19th floor, sea view room. The staff are professional and friendly. More than expected wonderful premise with high quality Japanese, Italian and French restaurants. There are so many shops and restaurants near the hotel within 300m distance. It’s such a nice 5-star hotel!! I recommend you guys to choose this hotel if you wanna enjoy your stay in Yokohama.

I recommend the IHG ambassador and diamond member that if you have the lounge usage privilege to come this hotel. If the room fee is under 200USD. I book this hotel total price is around 150USD. And I am the diamond ambassador with the 40N mileage stone(lounge access). So, I picked this hotel for my transit hotel. I enjoyed the dinner in the lounge and breakfast on the lobby. First, if you have the lounge access, you can having the breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and cocktails time in the lounge. I suggest you enjoyed it all. Taking about their dinner, because that day is the weekend, so they limited all customers only can enjoy 1hr at the lounge only. As you can see, they will have the handmade pizza, hot dish, salad and cocktail menu. I only disappointed with the hot dish choice is not enough. And this lounge have the Japanese style inside. They require you wear the hand cloves to take the food and the people will line up for the food. The funny things on the cocktail time that they will not provide the snacks such as peanut or cookies outside, you need to ask the people and take for you from the kitchen, I am really not understand why. About the breakfast on the morning, it is a lot of chioce. but not much Japan style food, for example the sushi or ramen. If you are the ambassador, you can have the 2000yen voucher, and it can use for the mini bar drinks. About, the diamond welcome gift, you can choose the breakfast. About the transportation, it is little bit inconvenience if you come from Tokyo, because the hotel is not near Yokohama station, you may consider take taxi from Yokohama station if you have many baggage. As the time that writing this comment, the direct bus to Haneda airport still not service to the hotel. You can only go Yokohama station to take that bus.

Great city hotel - spacious, nice ocean view, a large uncluttered office desk that’s so indispensable for me. Location is close to many local attractions. It is so strategic that we could walk to so many attractions, theme park, and food choices is abundant. Breakfast was great. They have a nice music lounge and proper gym. Highly recommended.

The hotel is old and all stuff looks like that. Some ppl might like the kind of atmosphere but I think it looks just old. Moreover, overall level of the hotel service is not good enough.

  • 2/5 L T. 1 year ago on Google
The framed pictures in my room (1143) had profane drawings behind them, the grout in the shower had black mold that I was able to wipe off with my finger, the shower curtain was tattered and seemed like it was 15 years old. I genuinely do not understand how this hotel has a 5-star rating and good reviews. The staff was helpful and accommodating (hence the non-1 star review here) but the rooms themselves were massively disappointing.

Excellent service with English speaking staff who are extremely helpful and proactive. Great location (next to Pacifico conference center). Fantastic views from rooms facing the sea.

We tried to get a place for coffee and drinks at the outside terrace and were turned away with the excuse that all tables were reserved and Dinner would start shortly. Straight lie from staff as only 2 tables of all were taken from about 14 ... see picture ... that was at 14:55 hours on Saturday. What a joke. Will not return, not even for business purpose. Bad manners, bad service. Avoid.

Good location, comfortable and specious room, good amenities. However front staff couldn’t give enough confidence about vegetarian/vegan foods availability in their restaurant specially for breakfast. Who wants to pay for the buffets with least food choices.

  • 4/5 Eoin L. 2 years ago on Google
Great location and views, some issues with club facilities during cocktail time, Breakfast and afternoon tea however, were a nice relaxing and delicious experience. Staff are attentive and helpful. Overall an enjoyable place to stay.

I had a single room because I was on business, but it was spacious enough and clean and I had a very pleasant time. The room was on a higher floor, so the view was good and the Bay Bridge looked very beautiful. The breakfast buffet has now been discontinued, and you can choose from a set menu of Japanese or Western food. Personally, I was still satisfied with the taste and quantity. The staff was also wonderful. Next time, I would like to use this restaurant for private use.

Spent one night there for Valentine’s Day with my bf. I dreamed about staying at this hotel for so long and couldn’t wait for enjoying the astonishing view from my room (and it is really amazing!). Rooms are spacious and cozy, the bed is comfortable and there’s a real bathtub in the bathroom. Unfortunately, I have been discriminated at the check in counter by a female employee who was pretty shocked by the fact we were two guys sleeping in a king size bed. This was quite disappointing, especially if we are taking about an international and high quality hotel like this. Never again. Wake up, we are in 2021.

Comfortable hotel with nice rooms and great views. However really disappointed with the lack of care by the staff. It may be a language barrier (also an issue in a international hotel chain) but two requests for help was apparently too hard, one of these was as simple as helping me translate some Japanese on my phone. Tiny gym, really not fit for purpose

  • 5/5 Puchipura J. 3 years ago on Google
THE BEST HOTEL I’VE EVER STAYED IN JAPAN. The staffs are really polite. The hotel is really clean and the explanations are written in English and Japanese. The buffet lunch is also excellent and muslim friendly. We got an upgrade for free, free skin care samples, and discount for ¥1,000 for each person for the buffet at one of their restaurants, Ocean Terrace. I really recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again.
