The largest car manufacturer in the world has the best car museum in the world to match. Everything you ever wanted to know about cars from all over the world is here.

Beautiful museum which shows the history of cars. It not only displays Toyota cars but also a lot of cars from different brands. I actually visited this museum because I mistook it for the Toyota Commemorative Museum, which you need to be careful about because it’s in the opposite direction. The other one is closer to the main station and it’s cheaper and has more interactive displays. But that’s more about the history of Toyota as a company and manufacturer while this one has a bunch of fancy old and new cars. It shows you how cars changed over time.

Great memories and impressive old models of cars of the beginning of last centuries. But the second floor with so many ordinary cars, was more like a parking from the 90s. As italian I am a bit surprised to see only two versions of fist 500. What about Ferrari? Maserati? Alfa Romeo?

Any car person that is around the area or planning on visiting Nagoya should definitely visit this museum. It's not just about Toyota, but any cars that have had historical importance in the automobile industry. The main hall has all the cars separated by era and then another hall with a bunch of trinkets, defunct brand logos, small car models, license plates from all around the world, and car brochures on display. They also have a library where every book is about cars. This includes but is not limited to magazines, novels, repair guides, encyclopedias, and brochures from when the car was being sold brand new. Super cool and would recommend up to an entire day if you really like your cars.

Great museum with plenty of cars/history to see. Easy to get to, 5 min walk from the station. Huge building so hard to miss. 1200¥ entry fee which was good value. Also a souvenir shop and cafe to check out afterwards. No need to book, which was a nice change.

An excellent car museum, but very few Toyota cars and perhaps only a dozen Japanese cars in total in possibly Japan's best car museum. Most of the other cars I've seen many times in many museums around the world. Lots of American cars. America has great car museums stuffed with American cars. What we don't have much of in the world are museums with Japanese cars. It seems that the Japanese don't rate their own cars too highly, and that is a shame. The cars are all very well looked after, presented in bright studio lighting with photographic backdrops, and some really interesting items including President Roosevelt's 1939 Packard 12. But the museum is a long way out of the centre from Nagoya - about an hour on the metro with two journeys. It took up an entire day of our Japan trip, as a stopover between Tokyo and Kyoto. You'll need to decide if it's worth your time when you can see the same things probably at home. There is a great toy display, and you can buy lots of the cars you can't see on show as die cast models in the gift shop.

(Translated by Google) At the Toyota Automobile Museum, the exhibition is not limited to Toyota cars, but cars from manufacturers around the world are arranged in chronological order, making it easy to understand. When I went there for the first time in a long time, not only cars but also exhibition corners for goods, books, games, music, etc. related to cars increased. There is also a restaurant famous for selling goods and curry. The parking lot is large and easy to access by car, but if you are far away, you can reach it within a 5-minute walk from Geidaidori Station in Linimo, which is also convenient for public transportation. If you have a one-day ticket for Linimo, you will get a 200 yen discount.

This place is less of a museum and more of a heaven for petrol heads. The collection of Automotive history here is truly staggering. The most impressive by far is the Bugatti 35B, a very famous racing car. In addition, seeing Colin McRae’s Impreza was also special for any Brits who grew up watching him race.

I thought there would just be Toyota cars but actually much more. Totally worth the time visiting and endorsing yourself in the automotive appreciation! Ranging from 1900s to the latest car models. Quite a collection of cats really. Parking is easy and getting here is a breeze by car.

Good way to kill time if you happen to be in Nagoya area for some reason. Honestly there doesn't seem to be much else to do in the area, touristically. I was a bit pleasantly surprised that it's not so much a museum of Toyota but includes many other influential auto manufacturers, Japanese, American, and European. There were surprisingly few Toyota cars actually. The cafe restaurant has absolutely the worst food I've had in Japan and I think they should be ashamed of themselves.

(Translated by Google) Be prepared for ladies and gentlemen who like cars and machines. Since the exhibited vehicle is a famous car among famous cars and a rare car among rare cars, it does not allow omissions such as passing through and fast-forwarding. (Crying) I entered the museum at the same time as the museum opened, and after lunch, I noticed that it was 4 o'clock. The eyes are shabby and the knees are jerky, and the Toyota Automobile Museum is terrifying. Among the famous cars of Kokontouzai such as Rolls Royce and Ferrari, my favorite was Fuji Cabin, a small two-seater midget car made during the postwar deficiency period in Japan. It has a unique appearance as the nickname of "Hitotsume Kozo", and if you run on an unpopular road with lights at night, you might really mistake it for a youkai. Please check the interesting shape at the museum.

The Automobile Gallery has around 140 vehicles on display that tell the history of automobiles from their creation at the end of the 19th century to the present day. In the Cultural Gallery, you will find over 4,000 posters, car parts, car mascots, and other cultural materials related to automobiles on display in the Automobile Culture Showroom. Besides being full of materials on automobiles, the library also has a vehicle picture book room for children.

Okay I saw a review here criticizing there were not enough Japanese cars and they had all these other cars first of all there were tons of extremely rare Japanese cars more than you would expect second of all the other cars they had I'd say about half of them are so rare you probably won't see them anywhere else maybe even 75% of them they were ridiculously rare and they were historic for a reason the first electric car the first front wheel drive car things like that they were amazing the place was exceptional the only thing I would criticize about that museum is it was so hot in there why they have to have the temperature up that high is beyond me when it's winter outside and most people are dressed for winter

If you’re visiting Nagoya, the Toyota Automotive Museum visit is a must. You can get here easily via subway - super easy. The museum is an automotive history, so you will see cars from different manufacturers from around the world. The collection of cars is incredible and you’ll remember certain cars that you just don’t see on the roads anymore.

An amazing museum - not only for Toyota vehicles but for cars in general. It displayed basically all key car models in history from all brands for how cars have evolved and developed (of course, with more Toyota cars). It could be worth a day in this museum. The staff was really nice as well.

Enjoyed a lot to roam around this museum. I went on a Sunday afternoon expecting it to be slightly crowded but to my surprise it was not at all crowded. Enjoyed my time here by reading about each car displayed. Audio guides are also available for more precise information regarding the subjects. Very clean and helpful staff around there always looking to help you navigate all the different zones of the museum. Would definitely love to see some more cars in future!

This large museum is devoted to the history of cars. There are many different cars from all sorts of brands, not just Toyota. I loved the short films of staff driving some of the cars. If you are a fan of old cars, plan to spend a few hours. The museum was not crowded, which made it easy to enjoy the cars.

Really great place to go to if you’re a car fanatic. Especially if you love cars from all eras. However there is a lack of cars from after 2000. But the cars on display here are amazing and rare cars, some gorgeous cars are here, the gull wing merc, thunderbird, Mazda cosmos are just 3 of the many cars here. Really worth trip and cost. Spent: 3 hours here

Wow what an awesome display of cars. But it’s not just the super shiny automobiles themselves, it’s the history and impact call Charlie and economically. This has been beautifully designed. And the staff are obviously very proud of it. It goes in depth with number plates, slot cars, model cars to build or buy, and all the car associated accessories, such as badges and emblems, upholstery and racing, and everything in between. You think this is just for Toyota, but it’s features all car brands. Of course one of the stars of the show is the DeLorean car that was made famous in Back to the Future movies.

The Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagoya offers a captivating journey through automotive history. With a stunning collection of meticulously maintained vehicles, informative displays, and passionate staff, this museum is a must-visit for car enthusiasts. While lacking interactive simulators, the exhibits provide an immersive experience, showcasing the evolution of Toyota and the broader automobile industry. Don’t miss the excellent facilities, including a gift shop and a pleasant café. Five stars well-deserved!

(Translated by Google) I think it is a very rare museum in the sense that you can learn the ideal way of automobiles from the very rare things to the present age in the museums run by companies. It is also very good in that it can be enjoyed evenly by adults and children. In addition, the cars in the collection are not tied to those of our own brand, and many famous cars of the past, east and west are stored, which I think is a factor that attracts many fans. Curry that can be eaten at the light meal corner (which seems to be refraining from corona now) adjacent to the souvenir corner of the Toyota Automobile Museum will be a hidden souvenir, so please buy it when you stop by. We are proud that Aichi of manufacturing is a corporate museum that can represent the world, and there is also a facility called Megaweb in Odaiba, Tokyo, which is operated by Toyota, so you may come to Kanto. If you have one, we recommend that you go there.

Very well done museum and am glad I came here as a last minute add-on to our trip. Had other cars other than Toyota ranges from past to present. They also gave my kids a paper to find car stamps throughout the museum and they enjoyed hunting for those. At the end when they found all of them, they gave them a carboard cutout of a 2000GT to put together. They also had a section with tons of old car toys, models and many hood ornaments. Overall, very good museum and we didnt even see everything. Had a nice giftshop that had models, snacks, and some cool keychains I have not seen before.

(Translated by Google) It is a museum with many cars in the world. How the car has changed is divided by age, and you can see how the characteristics of the car are changing. For those who want to know more, there are also attendants, so I think it will be more enjoyable if you explain. I think it's a dream space for Tomica collectors and car lovers. Since you can see the history of the emblems of automobile manufacturers, you can also see that the emblems that you are familiar with now have changed over the years. There are also limited edition items at the shop, so if you buy them as souvenirs or souvenirs, you can leave them as memories, so please drop in at the shop. Priceless collection of past and present automobiles. Reminds me of the Peterson Automobile Collection in Los Angeles. Gives the history of how the Japanese auto industry was shaped by Mr. Honda and Mr. Toyota who pioneered high quality Japanese mass auto production. Even have Mr. Benz's first automotive prototype.

Great museum for any motoring enthusiasts with a large number of cars displayed in showroom fashion here, along with other exhibits on car culture and media. There were a surprising number of American and European cars on display, though there were certainly a number of Japanese classics too. Concept is on the evolution of automobiles throughout history so that makes sense. Location wise it's kind of in between Nagoya and Toyota city so may take a bit of time to get there from either.

Spent about 2 hours there. You could spend longer or shorter depending on your interest in cars. The exhibits themselves may be a bit boring for young kids but the culture exhibit is more kid friendly. They have student discounts (need to check ID), and senior discount. Washrooms were very clean and spacious. The gift shop was smaller than I had hoped. I really appreciated how they laid the exhibits out in chronological order to tell the story of the automobile industry in Japan. I liked how they included the history of other Japanese car makers and not just Toyota’s. I would’ve liked more information about Toyota cars and models specifically. Easy to get to by driving. Plenty of parking. Easy enough by transit. A short walk away with clear signs at the station to lead you there.

Beautifully curated car exhibition from the early days till now. Bit depressing to see how we went from driving super cool cars to the dasai buckets we have now.. You’ll need a couple of hours if not more to go through the whole thing and it’s totally worth it. You can see from up close all kind of car brands not only Toyota, complimented with art deco posters from auto exhibition etc of the past. The only bad thing is that the museum is in the middle of nowhere with no decent food options around and the cafeteria food didn’t look edible so it’s something to take into consideration.

For any car lover you need to go here. We arrived at opening hours because we had to go to Ghibli Park. We spend a total of 2 hours there, could have spend 2 more, but our main attraction that day was Ghibli Park. The museum has old historical cars and modern, the museum consists of 2 buildings one they display cars and one that has rally/WRC and other “random” car stuff. I would have loved even more cars from Asia in general since I as a western are not familiar with car history of Asia, but not in anyway negative. If we come back again I would spend longer time.

Best to visit if and only if you are a car enthusiast and history of the Japanese automotive industry excites you or enlightens you. Kids may like it because of the display of a lot of cars in different shapes and sizes ranging from the early 19th century to recent decades. Max 2-3hrs to cover if you are walking average and taking a few pics of selected car models in the display. A 1200JPY for an adult entry ticket is expensive in my opinion for this museum.

Excellent museum which showcases the evolution of Toyota from a cloth weave machine manufacturer to the powerhouse automobile manufacturer it is today. The museum recreates how the founder Toyoda moved from automated loom machines to robotic car manufacturing. Well worth the visit. You can complete the visit in an hour or two which makes it a great short visit to escape the summer heat. You can get a discount for entry if you buy the Me-guru pass from the bus station.

Lots of old vintage 1900s cars. Wished they had more Toyota lineups that show their progression considering they are one of the most recognizable names in the automotive world. Probably only worth checking out if you are in Nagoya. But it's about 1 hour train ride out of the station.

One plus star for great maintenance of those grand grand parents old classic cars. Little disappointed that they have more collections from other brands instead of showing the Toyota cars history. Maybe you can find more types of Toyota vehicles in an used car shop than here. University students 1000yen, commercial museum is cheaper better access and still more interesting.

A collection of fantastically maintained cars from the dawn of automobiles to present day can be found in this pantheon of automobile history. The Toyota Museum made a great effort to bringing cars from all over the world, even from their domestic competitors. What’s more incredible is that almost all of the cars on exhibit are still drivable. A must-visit site when visiting Nagoya area.

(Translated by Google) It is a museum in Aichi prefecture, which is familiar to Toyota. I think it's an irresistible place for car lovers. The parking lot is very large because it is an automobile company, probably because it is located a little outside the city. Famous cars from prewar to postwar are lined up in the hall. There is also an ambulance, so I think your child will be overjoyed. In addition to cars, there are places where you can see various materials and memories of your car written by visitors, so it's fun just to read. It was fun to see a lot of mini cars lined up. Kiccoro and Moriso are on the bus of Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan outside, and there is melancholy lol (Original)

A must visit if you’re in Nagoya, Japan. If you’re a car enthusiast this is the place to be. It’s huge and filled with automobile history with a fine collection of cars from all over the world. And it’s not just Toyotas. It’s everything the automotive industry has ever gone through.

Cool museum showing the history of the evolution of the automobile. It features vehicles from various auto makers and outlines each vehicles unique factors as well as production dates.

Nice collection of cars from around the world from the beginning of automobiles to current day. The museum seems to be out of the way a bit and wasn't very busy when we visited. The cars are displayed in a way that allows close up inspection and there were many video monitors showing the cars being driven around the museum grounds. I was surprised that the collection wasn't more focused on Toyota though there was a good bit of the companies history and cars included. I was staying by the main station in Nagoya when I visited and spent quite a bit more than the museum entrance fee getting back and forth by cab. I think you can also get there by train which is probably much more reasonable.

I made a stop in Nagoya for one night just for the museum (and the Toyota factory tour), and it was totally worth it. Where do I begin? The museum has an amazing assortment of interesting cars from each decade. So many brands and models are represented (see pics). Gull-wing 300SL? Check. Cosmo Sport? Yup. Pink Cadillac? Yes. An Isetta? Sure, why not. It even has a Tucker! The museum recently opened a new wing that houses automobile-related memorabilia such as hood ornaments, posters, and models. In addition, it has periodic live demos of the cars. The environment is inviting, welcoming you to appreciate and enjoy each car. Even though some, if not most, of the cars are worth millions, they are only cordoned off with low-slung ropes. Probably unique to Japan: Instead of intimidating security guards, there are young women in uniform at each floor, who answer questions, unobtrusively keep an eye out for misbehaving visitors, and gently step out of the way when you take pictures. Given the low price of the admission, it’s as if Toyota is running the museum as public service, to share their passion in automobiles. Great job!
