The stay was great! Very knowledgable staff, great breakfast, comfortable beds, good rooms, heaters work well, and breakfasts are delicious! There are shuttles that will take you to all ski resorts, just ask the staff! They speak good english, and I would recommend this place to anyone. Be warned, the menu prices did not match what we paid for food and beer there (50 Yen extra). Ask what additional charges they might have before buying food and drink.

Good place to relax, staff was great always helpful and friendly. Restaurant and bar located in the same hotel made it very convenient and comfortable atmosphere and meeting new people. Look forward to staying again for the next Niigata Spartan.

Great place and nice staff, I highly recommend it ! We loved our 2-night stay here: the room is clean and comfortable, Sansan is only a few minutes walk from the train station where a shuttle bus will bring you to the ski resorts. Special mention to the chef who cooked us an amazing dinner :)

The owner is a Japanese woman and a Chinese Mongolian. The attitude of Japanese women is not too friendly, at least for many hotels in Kansai and Kanto. Mongolians speak Chinese, but they are not friendly to the Chinese. This homestay has a private room and dormitory. The soundproofing of the room was not good. If I come back to Yuzawa in the future, I will still live here, but if there is airbnb, I choose airbnb.

I was here for two nights and would stay again. Quick and easy to get to, on foot, from Gala Echigo station. The owner and her employee, Ross, were both very helpful and able to give me all the advice and help I needed.
