The art park contains the art museum, sculpture park, art and crafts centers. The park and art centre are free to enter. The entrance and immediate area outside the art museum have several outdoor sculptures. These areas are also wheelchair accessible.

Great place for a different adventure in Sapporo if you like art and the weather is nice. Art sculptures outdoors. Great for a date or for taking children.

It would have been better if it was sunny. I truly enjoyed it even in the rain

A great place to just relax and take in some wonderful examples of outdoor art and sculptures. The grounds are sprawling! Some parts of the park are up dirt trails and bumpy slopes so it's not entirely wheelchair accessible.

It's very pleasant to walk around the woods and green pasture among different art statues. It's very easy to follow the recommended walking tour printed on the visitor's guide. Too bad it was raining all day; otherwise, we would have visited other parts of open-air museum.

No card machine (in 2023!). Member of staff sent me to an ATM about 15 minutes away that didn’t work (in 35°C temperatures, no less). I ended up not visiting. A real shame.

Worth visiting in winter to walk around with snow shoes (kanjiki). It took about 2 hours of meandering to see the 70+ art pieces. Some were partially or completely covered in snow but you can still see a lot of them. Half the fun was walking off the intended path in the snow shoes since you are allowed to roam freely.

This review is for the open-air “sculpture forest” only. I had high hopes to see some inspiring artwork only to find sculptures that were mostly created in the 80s. It reflected the same poor aesthetic quality as hair styles and fashion from that period and felt incredibly dated. After finding out that the one artwork I was looking forward to seeing (by Susumu Shingo) was closed for renovation it was a net loss of time and parking/entrance fees invested.

This place may be the best-kept secret of Sapporo. We stopped by on a whim without expecting much, and pleasantly and thoroughly surprised.
