A big and vibrant place for seasonal activities. Modern and easily accessible station that links everyone to other big city of Japan via Shinkansen , railway and coach . Very beautiful and stunning decoration especially during Christmas.

Seems like it's the same dazzling light installation and festive displays in front of Hakata Station year in and year out.

An open area in entrance of this major JR railway transit. Quite a few big signs around which make gathering groups of people easy.

JR Hakata Station Square is a huge and happening place. It is probably one of the busiest places in the city of Fukuoka and can get really crowded during peak hours. There is shopping place such as departmental stores, food court and restaurants. Luxury brands such as Gucci, Hermes etc can be found within this area.

This place is always good, especially during Christmas season. Many shops and restaurants are located here, which is very convenient for tourists.

Beautiful station! There was an event going on as well for Christmas, so many stalls during this time. Stunning how they make a station so easily accessible, functional and stunning.

What a great experience right outside the train station. Don't rush to catch your taxi or Subway. Come out here have a drink relax and adjust

Fun place to be. Lots of shops, especially underground. I was there when they set up the gorgeous Christmas lights. It's crowded, but in a good way.

Great building and not really self explaining architecture, noting to do a stop over in 1 hour, but in case you have time it gives great opportunity to get lost between shopping food, drink and the uncountable options in the mass of travelling/shopping Japanese people

Came here at 4 am to wait for the bus terminal to open. Must say it was quite a pleasant experience. Nice and cool. Good view of the station and plenty of seating with decent wifi strength. Plus you get to chill with friendly pigeons🤣 Wouldn't recommend petting them though...

The centre of everything in Fukuoka. You can get everything here. Don't forget to find Ken & Umino there. They will be able to help you around and they speaks English very well.

A great place to eat, shop and people watch. Many outdoor activities like concerts and food & drink booths right after US Thanksgiving (last week in November). Also 800 meters away from Canal City complex (very walkable distance away and a straight shot down one main street).

Not perfect route and sign planning, need more coin lockers since it's so busy. But really pretty during Christmas.

I loved how they designed the lightning for christmas season. This place is filled with lots of people shopping and comming from and to the offices. So lively. Transpo either subway, trains or busses are just nearby

JR Hakata is a good place for shopping or eating. It's only a 10-15min walk to Canal City (shopping!) so it's unnecessary to wait for the bus. In winter the station looks really nice with light decorations. I recommend stopping by Hakata station during December. This year they also did the Xmas market and had it roped off. It was a nice lil area to walk through.
