Even if you are not coming here to buy a new Hermes bag for your collection, Mitsukoshi is worth visiting. It’s the oldest Department Store in Japan, and has been here since the samurai era. All the high-end brands are here, from jewelry to fashion to furniture - there is a lot to see and buy. The building itself has a grand feel to it, with its atrium with a huge Asian style sculpture. The rooftop has a nice garden with an amazing bonsai shop.

(Translated by Google) Postscript ∶ I visited for the first time in a long time to purchase sweets to be used for gifts. The number of new brands increased and I was at a loss to choose, but this time I bought OGGI's gateau chocolate and sliced cake. I bought it for home use and tasted it, but it was small but very satisfying and delicious. I think it is an item that will make you happy as a souvenir. --------------- It is mainly used for purchasing midyear gifts and year-end gifts, as well as souvenirs and side dishes. This time, I applied for a midyear gift at the midyear gift center, but I was a little confused about choosing a product, so I got advice from the gift concierge (who wears a red vest). Thanks to the abundant knowledge of the concierge and accurate advice, I was able to purchase a product that I was satisfied with. After that, I found "Hagi no Tsuki" in the underground Kayuan and bought it immediately with other products. Kayuan is very useful because it receives sweets from all over the country. I also bought "Fukinoto Miso" and "Marugoto Tomato Soup" at Misoan Grocery. The whole tomato soup was the first time, but it was very delicious and I decided to repeat it.

Excellent high class department store. Service is excellent and it does not seem that the cost is higher than elsewhere. Worth getting there for the 10:00 opening to hear the welcoming speech by a member of staff before the doors are opened. As well as most of the international luxury brands there is also a lot of Japanese items and standard homewear. There is about half a floor dedicated to kimonos with beautiful cloth and stunning designs. Even if you cannot afford the kimonos, and most people can't, the displays are certainly worth a visit. Staff were helpful and even wrapped the gifts up for us.

The Mitsukoshi Main Store is an exceptionally large department store with a rich history. The statue at the entrance is not only impressive in size but also quite noisy, making it worth visiting this department store even just to see it. I highly recommend checking it out when you're near Tokyo Station.

Beautiful historic building to wander around and escape the summer heat. Has all the usual luxury items/brands. Restaurants are bit pricey but the food is good. Basement food vendors Bento box selection never disappoints, lots of ready to eat deli items, gifts, gourmet ingredients, bakery, wines, expensive fruit, Wagyu, fish etc.

My review is for the basement food hall, which as I've given 5 stars, I really like! There are some of the worlds finest foods and super decadent luxury items with eye watering prices to match. But there's also plenty of more reasonably priced produce, samples to taste and wonderful staff to serve you. Plus every thing is packed beautifully.

As a tourist I enjoy visiting any of the Mitsukoshi locations, but this one is closest to work. I particularly enjoy the food hall. It's pretty unparalleled - better than Harrods for sure! And after 6pm they discount the prepared foods.

Magokoro Tennyo (Goddess of Sincerity), 1960 by Gengen Sato Weighing nearly 7 tons, this massive sculpture was carved from 500-year-old wood and decorated with thousands of jewels. Sato and his apprentices took 10 years to complete this sculpture stands about 11 meters (36 feet).

Excellent upmarket department store. Amazing decoration, with a food hall that seems without end. Many items here are very high end, although there was quite a range at cheaper pricing also. The roof terrace provides a quiet place to sit and relax.

Filled with a lot of high end Japanese designer stores and fine dinning restaurants. Perfect for some classy shopping and unwinding. The building has a classic architecture unlike the modern buildings of Tokyo.

On my first visit, I felt the history, atmosphere, and dignity of a long-established department store which is different from that of Ginza. I would like to come back again.

Best Ginza Department store...Food plus shops... Wonderful Soba/Udon, Sushi on 9-11th floor restaurants Food Hall Floor (Level B1). !!!you should't eat while walking or standing around.!!! Best eating areas are on 9th Floor where people can sit with chairs in relative harmony. !!!Reminder for Tax/Duty Free with your passport.!!!

I bought several teas and teawares at B1 and F5. All employees had real passion to inform me about their products and teach me how to make a nice matcha. Those were very delightful experiences.

Visiting the store was like visiting Macy's in New York City or selfridges in London. As this was the original store. You can see the grandeur of the pass with the marble staircase in the old part of the department store. I really enjoyed visiting this store and seeing parts of the store which resembled its past. I wish I had more time to venture through all the levels in both the new and the old parts of the store.

A strange addition to most tourist agendas but I would recommend it as a place to visit. Top quality the food hall in the basement is a fascinating insight into Japanese tastes. The statue of the Goddess of Sincerity is astounding! We ate in the restaurant at the top of the main building and I had a lovely traditional Japanese Kaiseki meal and my wife had the eel speciality dish.

Great selection of luxury brands and unique clothing items. Worth a walk though. The roof garden is I nice place to sit and eat any for you aquior on the lower floors. It very similar Harrods with less food and technology available. The fashion available is eclectic with floors dedicated to traditional garments.

It's the main Mitsukoshi store and as such it's worth a visit only if to experience the grandeur, drink some nice tea, buy amazing traditional snacks, check the huge statue at the main entrance and drop by an exhibition at the exhibition space upstairs.

I bought some bread and sandwiches and a cup of coffee in the Mandarin Oriental gourmet shop. I spent 2,000 yen on four items so I think it was a little expensive but it might be a good place to get some sweet gifts for your family.

This is the original & most impressive store - even though Ginza Mitsukoshi might attract more cusyomer traffic. Take your time & leisurely browse all kinds of merchandise, for all tastes & levels of income. Do take advantage of any seasonal fare & get some high quality food market items for a bargain price - just like in majority of department stores.

It’s really old and managed in a old fashion way. Try taking the elevator! That’s an experience back in time…! you’ll find gems in terms of choice of food and other local item. For the rest (fashion/cosmetics/jewelry) go to Ginza 😉

A big department store with a lot of products, ranging from western and Japanese sweets, dairy products, smoked meat, food, though a bit pricey. It is underground, connecting with the Mitsukoshi Mae station entrance gate.
