One of the best meals we had in Kyoto! The naan was insanely delicious and huge! The curry’s were so tasty and full of flavor. The server took great care of our huge group. The mango drink was very refreshing. Best Indian food I’ve had in Japan. Glad we went.

The staff here are very friendly and were accommodating to me and my friends who hadn't made a reservation. The food was delicious, especially the garlic naan and mango lassi! A great little Indian restaurant in Kyoto

Highly recommended. All the food we ordered were great! You can have biryani with Japanese rice or Indian Basmati rice, which costs ¥200 more. The food came quickly, and the complimentary lassi and ice cream were amazing! They have a lot on their menu, so we’ll probably go back and try the others.

Probably the best Indian food I had for a very long time. Mutton(very tender) Basmati rice Biryani, Samosa's and a draught Japanese beer for less than ¥2500, quality Indian food in Kyoto and a reasonable price I asked for it to be medium to hot spicy and it was spot on! Delicious and very enjoyable too! Who would expect to find such good Indian restaurant here or am I just surprised... Well recommended

Authentic Indian restaurant run by a Chef from North Indian region of Garhwal. Food is delicious and portion size is large in compared to usual. Non vegetarian variety it large and vegetarian options are also ample. Their pizza naans are loved by locals in the neighborhood. Very rare to have butter naan served with cubes of butter floating in it. Utterly buttery delicious 🤤 Friendly staff and good service.

Delicious Indian food including vegetarian dietary preferences, Jai San and the chefs made sure we are comfortable and the meals were yummy and wholesome. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone who wants Indian food in Kyoto. Dhanyawad! A home away from home indeed. 😊

You can choose the spicyness level of the curry which is great. Their food sets are such great deals and the cheese nan was so delicious. Restaurant is nice and clean. The server is so friendly and kind. Hospitality is out of this world! Highly reccomend. I wish they had a restaurant in Tokyo and Toronto too :)

What an amazing surprise! An incredible Indian meal in Japan with delicious flavours. I had the veggie set meal which comes with salad, three curries, rice, samosa and a huge fresh Nan. It was all delicious and great value.

A clean and reasonable-priced Indian restaurant with many options for non-veggie North Indian cuisines. It is around 15-20 mins walk from the tourist attraction and not in the market street, so it won't be so crowded with bunch of tourists here. I believe it is a really nice place talking and sharing our thoughts on food with the restaurant staff and family without hurry to finish the food. Actually, I did not expect much authentic Indian food before I walked in since I knew not many Indian people here. But it was indeed make me and my family satisfied after finishing our lunch. I would recommend to my Indian colleagues who plan to visit Kinki region in future.

The most authentic and tasty Indian food in Kyoto!! I was really missing good Indian food and it has vegetarian options too! I returned for a second time because of the flavourful food. Must try for Indian food.

Great food, casual, friendly for kids, and attentive service. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant. We were looking for a place to eat near Nijo Castle, and this one came on our radar. We're so glad we came! Every dish was delightful. We had the tandoori grill set, the cheese naan set, side orders of samosa & pakora, and kids curry sets. We was happy with all of it. They have excellent vegetarian options including the veggie curry: it had several types of vegetables in it, not just potatoes. The butter chicken curry was also awesome. We wish we lived nearby so we could come back. Note - credit card is not accepted, we paid cash.

We came here twice during our short stay in Kyoto because it was so good! The curry plate is great it came with 3 curries, a huge naan, and tandoori chicken. The mango lassi and ice cream are also delicious! This place is always packed but you should be able to get a seat pretty quickly. The owner is very friendly and works hard to deliver great service. Definitely stop by if you’re in Kyoto!!

The "New Delhi" restaurant in Japan is a heartwarming culinary gem that perfectly marries authenticity with hospitality. The staff treats you like family, creating a homely atmosphere that complements their exceptional Indian cuisine. The 'Vegetarian Set' combo meal is a joy to the palate, showcasing the diversity of Indian flavors. Particularly notable were the chef's special curry, a symphony of well-balanced spices, and the surprisingly delightful samosas that exceeded expectations. If you're craving Indian food in Japan or looking for a quality vegetarian meal, don't miss out on this authentic Indian dining experience. It's not just a meal at "New Delhi," it's a taste of home and a celebration of Indian culture. Highly recommended!

Food is so tasty and authentic. I was visiting Japan from Australia and believe me, food is way better than the indian food i am eating in Australia. I went here 3 times in 5 days, highly recommended. And staff is also nice us. We love overall experience.

The food was as good as expected. I ordered a curry set with tandoori chicken and a children's menu. I could choose draft beer and drinks for the curry set, and all the food was good and I was satisfied. Curry ordered a butter curry, which is as soft as butter and spicy as level 4 is similar to hot sauce sprinkled on pizza. However, even though it is Tuesday evening, there are too many customers for one waiter to serve so customers should be relaxed. Only cash available!!

This was my first time trying Indian food and I was not disappointed. Naan and lamb curry were a good combination with the sweet of meat and the chewy texture of naan bread. The size of naan was so big beyond my expectation. It was longer than 30 cm which enough to make me full. Salad was also delicious. I really want it to be bigger in size because I enjoyed it a lot. Ice cream was a special desert for this period. Its taste and texture combining with a bit mango suace topping were great. The owner was so freindly. He can speak Hindi, English, and Japanese. He also recommend me how to eat naan and curry in Indian style.

I grew up in Delhi and like to go to Indian restaurant in every country and city I visit. Today we went to New Delhi Indian restaurant for dinner. We order veg Pakoda as an appetizer and 3 dishes about 8 minute later. But they bring everything together. Veg pakod- 2 cauliflower 2 eggplant 1 onion and 1 gigantic mash potato Tikki fry for some reason and served with tomato catchup after I asked for chatni (Indian sauce) he said we don’t have it. Kadai Chicken- The Kadai chicken was tasty and fair portion. Aloo Gobi- Aloo Gobi was good. Aloo Mutter- Aloo mater was not tasty at all. Service- Service was mediocre. A guy was holding my pakoda order and standing on the kitchen door and had no idea which table they supposed to be served after checked with 2 other stuff member and 5 minutes I got my Pakoda. I asked green chilies; they took forever after ask The Indian guy said he totally forget. Payment- In the end when we give then card to pay the said cash only. (there was no sign for mentioning that) for full sit-down restaurant I wasn’t expecting that.

“If we (I) are (am) lucky, we go for dinner one day and breakfast another. The dinner menu is varied enough for a family like mine that has only one seafood eater. The food is delicious! The breakfast menu is equally varied. I could have ordered at least 6 items on the menu. The service is great, prices are reasonable. The dining room and restrooms are clean and well maintained. Two thumbs up and 5 stars!”

Was a great experience, service was excellent and food was amazing, will come back again when I visit Kyoto. Tandoori chicken came on a hot plate. The spinach chicken was also very flavorful. My friend ordered the spinach curry which was delicious. I forgot to take a picture of mine because it looked so good. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

A hidden gem of Kyoto. You CANNOT miss this place. Best Indian food I’ve had my entire life. Butter chicken and garlic naan were perfection, samosa were generous and liberally spiced. The owner and staff are extremely humble and nice as well. 5/5

So fabulous we visited twice in one week! We stumbled upon this place on the first night of our weeklong trip. It was amazing!!! The staff were very happy and friendly with our one year old child. We came for dinner the first time and lunch our last day in town. We tried various curries: butter chicken, chicken, pork, and mutton. All of them were delicious! We also had many types of naan: plain, honey, cheese, and pizza. Both meals ended with small servings of ice cream! We will definitely visit again if we ever come back to Kyoto.

Food was super average. Specially all non veg curries tasted generic and I meant all as I had a non veg thali. Veg (chole) was pretty decent. Place needs some upper fixes, rest room was looking dodgy. I got dissuaded by the 4.8 stars tbh!

The restaurant met our high expectations from the reviews we had seen prior. For 5000 yen, my friend and I were stuffed to the brim with quality and homely Indian cooking. Butter Chicken was arguably the best I’ve had, along with fluffy rice and delectable Aloo Naan. Service was very quick and friendly. I had only one complaint, I wish I had found this restaurant earlier! If you had any interest in Indian food, definitely recommend if you are in Kyoto.

Was craving Indian food out of a whim and did a Google search to find this place. Went here based on the review. I was strangely surprise on a Friday evening @ 9.30pm there was no one in the restaurant. We still decided to eat here and it was WOW! My daughter who is not a big fan of Indian food said it was the best Indian food ever! She wanted to come back for breakfast! The owner was very kind and a accommodating. If we had a few more nights in Kyoto we would definitely be back. If your craving Indian food like we did you will not be disappointed!

A mind blowing experience on all fronts, from the service to the tastes to the atmosphere. I have allergies to all nuts, eggs, and coconut which makes being able to even eat Indian food difficult at most restaurants. Here, they made a special, separate batch of curry base just for me. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants across the world (being Indian) and this is the first time such a service has both been offered, and actually been free of said allergens. Beyond this, the gentleman who attended to our party of 6 was courteous, warm, friendly, attentive, and helpful. When we left, even the chef bid us a good evening. The flavours were beyond compare. They reminded be exactly of what my mother and grandmother used to make, in the best possible way. A perfect balance of spices across all of our dishes. Two of our party cannot eat any spice and even they were happy, which is another rarity for them and Indian food. We went back a second time before leaving Kyoto, and the experience was just as good as the first time. Overall an excellent experience that everyone should try out at least once if you happen to be in the area.

CASH ONLY, NO CREDIT CARDS BEWARE: OWNER RESPONDS TO ALL NEGATIVE COMMENTS WITH "LIES." THE FOOD IS DISAPPOINTING. We went based on the amazing reviews. But the food was disappointing. The pakoras looked and tasted like they were bulk frozen, from a bag. They were served with plain ketchup. The curry was mediocre. The spice level is achieved with off the shelf chili oil. When I asked about the ketchup, I was told that's what Japanese people like. I'm not sure how this place rates all the good reviews unless people just don't know what good Indian food taste like. Or maybe they pay people in India to provide good reviews every time someone gives them less than five stars so they keep their average up?) 4.8 stars is outrageous for the food they served me! Thankfully, the portions are quite small (think kid size, not for adults) so we didn't suffer much. The Japanese rice was very good as was the mango lassi.

They have a bunch of “off menu” items, so if you know what you want, feel free to ask. I had all vegetarian food. Daal Makhni was really good, one of the best I’ve had. So was the garlic naan. The kadhai paneer was slightly sweeter than what I’m used to, but the paneer itself was really good and perfect texture. The roti could have been slightly more crisp. I’m sure you can tell them the way you like things and they’d be happy to cook it to your liking. Overall, I ordered way too much, but enjoyed it!

Good Indian food in Kyoto. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a lovely ambiance. The menu was extensive and offered a wide range of traditional Indian dishes. Overall, I would highly recommend this Indian restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and flavorful dining experience. The food was exceptional, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was perfect. I will definitely be returning soon!

Seriously some of THE best Indian food I've ever had. Best price for the amount of food. The naan was light, airy and with a hint of sweetness. Curry was full of flavor with the right amount of spice and the chicken was tender. The staff is just as amazing. Coming back for sure!!!

Excellent authentic Indian food in the most unexpected place (Japan). The naan is absolutely delicious, perfectly coomed and huge! Portion sizes are large and all spices are imported from India so the flavors are rich.
