museum and tea place with Japanese sweets served based on the pieces showed in the museum... That's just great. It's a place to remember... I mean literally because with a no Photography nor note taking allowed in the museum... A bit sadden by that, because there were several pieces I enjoyed and wanted to remember and show friends but they were not available as postcards at the museum shop.

¥1300/person—extremely overpriced museum. The gallery is very small and only B1 floor. It is not worth going all the way here. I bought 3 items from the museum store and they still told me not to take a photo of MY OWN ITEMS inside their store.

Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon and breezed through the current exhibits in under an hour, so we walked through a second time. The museum was smaller than I expected but I still felt it was worthwhile. If you’re in the mood for more art, head over to the Nezu Art Museum. We had time to kill so we stopped at the museum cafe and enjoyed the tea and sweets.

Hidden spot for small, well curated exhibitions, usually under an hour. Bonus is the cafe with sweets crafted like the artwork. They taste pretty good too.

The Yamatane Museum of Art is located about a fifteen minute walk from Omotesando station in the basement of an unassuming building. It’s a smaller museum so you should be able to see and enjoy everything in about an hour. The museum is currently featuring an exhibit by the artist, Uemura Shoen. She is famous for her paintings of beautiful women, mostly from the early Showa period. To be honest, I prefer the beauty standards of today’s Japanese women, but nevertheless, the exhibit was well worth the visit. If you have some free time afterwards, the Nezu museum is close by and is a fine museum as well.

One of the best art museums I’ve visited. They have an amazing collection, and the current exhibition is fantastic. There are clearly marked routes to prevent crowds and there is some info provided in English about the pieces. Also has a great little merch shop. Staff were lovely even when I made a mistake with payment. Definitely worth checking it out even if you don’t consider yourself a museum person.

This museum can really open one's eyes to the diversity of nihonga, or modern Japanese-style painting. They prepare free English pamphlets for their changing exhibits too. The exhibition space is small and can quickly become crowded on Sundays and holidays, plus it is a tad expensive at 1200 yen. The cafe has matcha green tea and Japanese sweets specially created to match works in the exhibits, so can make for an interesting rest stop.

(Translated by Google) This time I went to see the four seasons of Kaii Higashiyama. The exhibit is in the basement, but I bought it because there was a Japanese sweet of Kaii Higashiyama in the coffee shop on the first floor. The kindness of Japanese painting and my heart calmed down. It was good. (Original) 今回は東山魁夷の四季を観に行きました。展示物は地下にあるのですが、一階の喫茶に東山魁夷四季の和菓子があったので、購入しました。日本画の優しさ、心が落ち着きました。良かったです。

It's a very small museum and I feel like it's a bit too expensive compared to the size. For a cheaper alternative you can visit the Sato Sakura museum in Meguro (very small museum as well, similar style of artworks, but 800¥ cheaper) I do recommend the cafe though! It was a bit expensive too, but the wagashi was so beautiful and tasty and the tea was delicious!

The building was large, so I was surprised to find that it was only one floor. For anyone wondering, tickets were 1400yen. No English translations on display, only audio guide. Tbh, I like the elevator more than the exhibition. For us, it wasn’t that interesting, and def not worth the taxi + ticket price.

(Translated by Google) It's a little far from Ebisu station, but you can get there in just 5 minutes by taxi. The exhibition of Japanese paintings is a masterpiece, and visitors are very satisfied. The coffee shop inside is also delicious, so it's fun to stop by. In addition, Yamatane, Nezu, and The National Art Center, Tokyo are very close to each other, and many people go to the ladder. Museum with rotating (often seasonal) exhibits of modern nihonga (Japanese-style painting). Not a huge gallery: you can see everything in a little under an hour. At the cafe you can get a tea and wagashi set.

There is a special exhibition at the moment focusing on two famous Japanese artists - Kobayashi Kokei and Hayami Gyoshuu. They have a cafe that serves food and Wagashi (sweets). The Wagashi are themed with the work of the two artists - for example the Wagashi here is a lotus flower inspired by Kobayashi's painting.

(Translated by Google) Although it is an independent museum, it is a recommended museum if you want to see modern Japanese paintings. Every spring, there is an exhibition where you can see cherry blossoms with Japanese paintings of flowers. There is an exhibition of cute animals. Anyone can enjoy it because they have planned and exhibited Japanese paintings with various tastes. The exhibition room is on the first basement floor and you can get off at the basic stairs, but there is also an elevator. There are no steps in the exhibition room, and the exhibition room is barrier-free, so even people in wheelchairs can see it. There is also a Japanese antenna shop where you can purchase catalogs for each exhibition. There is a coffee shop with about 20 seats on the first floor, and you can relax with Japanese sweets, tea, matcha, coffee, etc. that are inspired by the exhibits. It's a 7-8 minute walk from Ebisu station, and you can walk to Shibuya and Daikanyama if you do your best. It's a small, cozy museum. Loved the exhibit. The staff were polite and welcoming. We even met a guy who explained some facets of Japanese culture to us while we were speculating. I didn't have a very good impression of what the entrepreneur's current attitude towards the works of art collected by the founders was. I think they showed me a lot of the collection, but I'm still attracted to the Kawai Gyokudo exhibition.
