Boat tours every 30 minutes. It’s a smallish boat that goes quite fast. You can see a lot of interesting rock formations and hear about the stories people have attached to them (this is called “the bear” etc.) It was all in Japanese but there was some English reading materials which pretty much explains everything. Kids liked it too but the younger one got a bit restless and was probably a bit annoying for the other tourists in the boat. But when the boat starts moving you can’t get off so we just dealt with her. We would probably advise bringing some snacks or something to help smaller kids stay relaxed the whole time. Think airplane ride (albeit for just 20 minutes). A nice little boat ride.

The valley by boat is scenic. There are some interesting rock formations. However bear in mind even if there is English tape as guide, they won't play it if you are the only English guest (mid April in the morning I was the only one).

I wish if its open, it goes through a very beautiful lake/river with emerald green water but you can not enjoy or sink in the environment as you sit in closed jet liner.

2020.11.14. We arrived at 10 and we got seats on the 11:20 boat. It's during "corona" so they load at half the capacity per one boat. For a foreigner it may be confusing to buy tickets. They have one line for boarding and one for the tickets, but you need to write down your name, contact info, before that. "corona". The ride was beautiful, but don't expect to see the famous "momiji", red japanese maple tree, on this ride. The parking was free. Was difficult to find a place for lunch, without getting in the car again.
