Husband and I visited this place since it was close by and my husband has always wanted to try Wagyu beef. He loved it. Says it was definitely the best beef he has ever had. It is pricey obviously but well worth it if you are visiting. He had a "Premium Kobe Beef set" which came with Corn soup, salad, a drink, the kobe beef, garlic fried rice and some ice cream. I went with something a bit cheaper which was a sirloin steak by itself. Everything was really good (he and I shared the other sides like the corn soup and stuff). I was more of a fan of the corn soup since he doesn't like corn all that much, salad was a salad but was still good, we had our meats cooked as Medium Rare and it was so smooth and soft. They give you 3 little sauce to dip your meats, a soy sauce, something orange and some salt. Both were delicious! They also cook everything in front of you too minus the soup and salad. The garlic rice was awesome and it was matcha ice cream as the finisher. Really nice and fun and as people who don't speak or read Japanese, there wasn't a problem since the menu was Japanese with English below.

Serious props to this two-man show that provided excellent service from making the reservation the night before, to the whole steadily run kitchen operation, to handing us our coats and bowing goodbye when we exited. Came on 11 Feb 2023 and there is only one Chef cooking with the other more focused on service and behind prep. The chef cooks for one group a time and there is such a mastery to his teppanyaki skills: how he handles and cooks the prized Kobe Wagyu, chopping the egg with his spatula, frying the sliced garlic to golden-brown perfection and stir-frying the rice in the end…I felt like he did the ingredients justice and all the food was so satisfactory. There’s an English menu and the chefs know a bit of English too. A very memorable experience in Osaka.

Lovely experience. We tried all three of the highest end cuts, observing the fat and meltyness of each as we worked our way to the A5 Wagyu.

Extremely pleasant experience with a great chef serving us. The food was amazing and well priced. We went for the cheaper lunch special, but it was still amazing in term of both taste and presentation. The restaurant has a really soft and quiet atmosphere with few seatings so it’s really relaxing to watching the chef. Beef quality was amazing with certificates of authenticity that says where it is sourced from. Even the vegetables were cooked really well.

Limited course Kobe beef course is great. The black beef one is not bad at all. Great experience, great staff

It is straight up a teppanyaki place, no frills. Beef of the highest quality, and seafood super fresh. It was a really good meal and how they keep everything so clean, prim, and proper adds to the comfort of knowing you're in good hands.

The chef is young but culinary skills is fantastic. Every dishes from salad till dessert are perfectly cook, presented and served in what we have requested. But price is on high side. Reservation is a must else may need to wait for an hour or more.

The kobe beef looked perfect and the atmosphere was good. However, the taste was only OK - considering the enormous price of the meal (we had two 170g steaks). There is a very big difference between what we expected to what we actually tasted. Maybe it's just the kobe beef which is overrated in general, but we really felt sad that this was our first (and probably last) kobe experience in Japan.

Always wanted to try Kobe steak and glad we went here. Yes, it is not cheap but it is an experience too. The service was top notch the chef spoke English so communication was no problem. English menus too. Food was expertly cooked. Corn soup to start was fantastic. The steak, we had two types of Kobe steak....both absolutely the best steak I have ever had and yes it does melt in your mouth!!!! Highly recommend this restaurant on 2nd floor but sign outside.

It was an experience. Had the course around 16100 yen, included 120grams of kobe a5, soup, salad, rice, and dessert and an alcoholic beverage. Sake was my choice. The experience , service and atmosphere is exceptional. The food was good but i wasnt blown away. It was good. I will not repeat. Just a one time thing.

We booked 24 hours ahead for this experience but unfortunately it was a disappointment. The sign on the door (pictured) suggested it was a packed house so we were looking forward to some good Japanese atmosphere, but they were fully booked because they only had 2 people working and so they limited the amount of diners. The chef was the also the maître d’ and the waiter!! I had the Kobe beef and my partner had the sirloin but you couldn’t really tell the difference. It tasted good but then we did pay over $300 for it. It was included in a set menu that also offered soup, salad and ice cream, but they all tasted like they were out of a packet. Overall a very underwhelming dining experience.

Great experience ! The staff is very friendly and the food is delightful. We had different cuts of kobe beef and all were wonderful. There is a great selection of wines and other drinks. The only tiny downside is that due to the heat from the teppanyaki grill, the ac is very high, so it is fairly cold inside.

I loved it. It's really good steak. Please don't expect like life changing or breathtaking experience. It's just really good and worth its price in my opinion. And service is perfect 😊

Amazing in every way! The chef was extremely skilled and tried his best to speak English with us. The entire meal was prepared with love and high quality ingredients. The Kobe beef was presented with a certificate. Thank you so much for the best meal ever!

The steak just melts in your mouth like butter. Everything else was also good. An excellent meal, expertly prepared in front of you, that lives up to expectations. We were able to order the Kobe steak cube, limited to the first 4 arrivals. It was excellent. Reservation is needed. For the best value, go for lunch and order the lunch sets. I would suggest that the restaurant end the meal with a sherbet rather than ice cream. Ice cream is good, but an acid based sherbet would have been better.

Been to this place twice each time I visited Osaka. Still the best place for Kobe beef in Osaka, nearby Dontobori. Busy place so reservation is highly encourage.

Great place to eat. Steaks were amazing and service was excellent. We came on one day but they were booked out but were able to book us for the following day. Great meal would come back

Dining at Steakhouse Kozai was definitely a unique experience. Outstanding service, exceptional food at a reasonable price, simple as that. We had the Premium Sirloin Steak course, really well balanced. Would visit again if I happen to return to Osaka.

The meat was very good, but I find the price quality ratio not so great. A few things bothered us: * the rice was ready 10 minutes+ after the beef so the beef got cold while we waited for the rice * the chef doesn’t speak english so we didn’t learn much about the Kobe beef during the experience

Opted for the 6000+ yen set with the black beef. Incredibly fatty and tender cut of meat, and the chef’s preparation was immaculate. Was a blast to watch as he expertly handled all the different ingredients and serving them fresh to us. The beef fat was also a highlight.

This place definitely offers the best quality food, starting from the appetizers to soup and salad, and of course, kobe beef cooked medium rare!! 😋 Best paired with freshly fried garlic chips and their fried rice. And don't forget to order the hot sake. Best combination indeed! Excellent service too. The place can accommodate 12 persons only, so better to call them for reservations.

The restaurant is located at the second floor. The food was great. The restaurant only has 2 chefs that’s why you need to reserve ahead of time. Service was great! We ordered the set which includes: Corn Soup, Salad, Garlic Rice, Kobe Beef, Sherbet, and your choice of drink. The beef was so good it melts in your mouth like butter. The rice and soup we’re also great! We also ordered the hamburg steak, scallops, and shrimp which we also loved. The sherbet was a like a lemon or something taste. It’s a unique taste but great palette cleanser. Overall we loved our dinner. Thank you to the chef! We’ll surely comeback.

Wow, wow, wow. Melts like absolute butter. The meal of a life time. The chef was so professional and the ambiance felt so luxurious as the chef caters to you. And the kobe beef is amazing. Be prepared to get addicted. It's $$$ but worth it. I also cannot stop dreaming about the fried rice and garlic chips TDF!!!

Incredible attention to detail during the entire service. English-friendly and accepts credit cards. This was my first experience with Kobe Wagyu, and it was as melty and tender as everyone says it is. I'm glad I had the experience at some place that is clearly very good. That said, give me a dry-aged USDA Prime tomahawk any day. 😅

Excellent quality, very nice and friendly chefs. Only 12 seats so you will understand that the dishes will be prepared with maniacal precision. Lovely minimal venue. Excellent wine and certified A5 Kobe meat, highly recommended !

80s atmosphere and feel. All beef is impeccable… melt in mouth, juicy and tender with the chef cooked in front of you. Wonderful experience.

Food was delicious. The beef was cooked extremely consistently despite tending to our large dinner group of 9. The team at Kozai was merticulous and extremely attentive to us. Highly recommended!

I loved it! It was a great experience to have the chef cook in front of us, a first for us in Japan. The meat was juicy and tender and there was an interesting mix of flavours from the vegetables and the sauces. It's definitely worth the price. We went there for lunch in May and we waited only 10 minutes. There were two chefs but it's understandable that you need to wait because they treat every customer with the highest attention. Highly recommended!

This place is a cozy sit down restaurant where a reservation is needed. There are only two chefs who are experts in what they do. I got the Kobe beef tenderloin course set. Started off with a delicious corn soup. You can tell the chef loved cooking in the way he prepared everything. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing and buttery.
