super fine place. dogs are allowed outside seats. Seafood salad is the way to go. Burger was big and full of flavor. Meat patties were chunk grind, so it almost tastes like a steak. bit dry as seen in typical Japanese burgers.

We used here for dinner on a weekday and it was less crowded compared to breakfast and lunch time. Bakery is more famous here, but as a fine dining restaurant, meat and fish cuisine menu is extensive and both are really great... and nice atmosphere!

3.5 stars. Slightly highly priced breakfast sets around 1600yen but good service, nice natural ambiance. Coffee not bad. Premium ingredients for discerning customers. Plenty of outdoor seating. At 7-8a.m. it wasn't crowded at all. Note that only 1 hour of parking is free. French toast might've been better made with baguette bread or something sturdier as it was kinda soggy for my taste. The breads were interesting. Just to give you an idea of the prices: An apple turnover 500yen incl. Tax. The milk jam baguette - the filling was grainy, unmelted sugar granules. Strange texture. I prefer smooth one. Croissant not bad. They have also sell cheesecake, apricot jasmine pound cake, cookie sets. Interesting culinary flavor matches. Even the slug loved their food.

Famous for breakfast but it’s the best all day long. Great service and really really good foods there. Parking available next to the restaurant.

Styling place with nice terrasse. Unfortunately, the quality of the bakery is not good. I have tried the pain au chocolat and almond croissant, they were both super dry, without taste and probably baked the day before. Viennoiseries, pains, pâtisseries must be prepared on the day, very early morning. It is not worth this high price. It's a bit sad that Japanese people get accustomed of poor bakery and think it is the real quality. I hope that some of them can have a real taste in other places (sorry, i didn't try others in Karuizawa, but i can help if you live in Tokyo ;) )

Very awkward situation with cafe and a restaurant sharing a space but actually different businesses..? Order a coffee and you can sit on the second floor but not if you order a gin tonic - separate seating area for that. Also forced 500 table charge even if you only want to drink is a bit much. Plus side - Coffee was good! Outside seating is nice at first but hum of AC units ultimately disturb the mood.

I’m giving this place 4 stars for the bakery on the other side of the restaurant. The breads and pastries were all amazing and French quality standard, which was pleasantly surprising and difficult to find in Japan. As for the dine in food, the lamb was great but a little over priced. The fish and chips was just average. The baked macaroni & potatoes tasted a little weird and the potatoes were undercooked. Fortunately, the staff were all friendly and efficient. Overall, I would definitely come back here just for the fresh bakery products but not to dine in.

I think this was my favorite meal in Karuizawa. Lunch was phenomenal. Service was very efficient but friendly. The restaurant space is large, bright, and modern. We ordered the grilled chicken leg and the beef stew. The grilled chicken leg was served with a Cesar salad made with grilled romaine lettuce. The dish had a creamy tomato sauce on the side. The beef stew was melty fall apart short rib in a rich sauce with creamy mashed potatoes. The cocktails were also good. If we had another night in town we would have tried lunch. Plan ahead, even in the off season (December), there was a wait for lunch on a weekend! The cafe is also good if you need a quick bit to go!

We enjoyed our lunch there. It’s a spacious modern place and they serve simple but delicious dishes; we ordered the lasagna, a ricotta calzone and a chocolate terrine cake for dessert. The lasagna was good, maybe had too much mushrooms but it’s my taste ;-) the calzone and the cake were both delicious. We ordered a kid menu which was a success! Staff was friendly enough and comfortable with foreigners. The place was very kid friendly with high chairs and special kid menu. We all had a great time! Totally recommend it!

Nice place to sit down and have a drink or a meal. The sight and sound of the forest at the back is very calming.

The food here’s great! The dishes are filled with vegetables mixed with sauce. Perfect if you want nutritious meals. The waiters are attentive and always watch the customer’s cups to see if they need refilling. They also welcome you with warm greetings.
