Tokyo is huge and will surround you all around as far as the eye can see. When accessing the roof, you must leave your bag in provided lockers for a 100¥ deposit which you get back after, so make sure you have a coin available. In addition, if you view the Moro Art Exhibition then you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how interesting it is. I thought I would just complete it to make the most out of my ticket, but ended up enjoying the whole thing. All in all a FANTASTIC experience and very highly recommended.

Once you're inside, you can ask for some directions from security and they will guide you to an elevator that takes you to the 33rd floor. Amazing view of the city, and we were able to easily see Mt.Fuji (due to nice weather) and Tokyo Tower. Its not a 360degree viewing platform. There's also a cafe at the top, but we were unable to get a table, so a reservation may be needed.

We arrived at around 1800hrs, and the restaurants on 5/F of West Side were fully booked and did not accept any walk-in customers (not even bother to let you wait, which was something I didn't expect). While other restaurants were located at the food court and not suitable for visitors looking for fine food. The mall was full of luxurious brands that you can find elsewhere while the mall design was a complete chaos - everything was dispersed and was hard to find your way round. Asahi TV and the Roppongi Illumination are nearby too.

This is a must do if you are interested in viewing the sheer size of Tokyo. I highly recommend going in the later afternoon and watching the sunset from the roof. It does get extremely crowded, so you are best off going early and waiting. It is very cold and windy at the top, so be sure to dress appropriately. The museum below is not very noteworthy, and is not worth a visit in my opinion. Although, it is a good way to kill time while you wait for the sunset.

Nonetheless it was a bit of a letdown. The shops are pretty high-end and so are the prices. There are only 2 or 3 floors with shops and they aren't very big. There is a restaurant floor which is also quite pricey, and it didn't look all that special. You can visit the observatory on the 52nd floor for 2200 yen, which also gives you access to the actual (outside) roof and helicopter platform. The latter is actually quite unique, as other high platform in the city (skytree etc) don't let you go outside, but that's way higher up. All in all I wouldn't recommend going out of your way for a visit here. If you're in the neighbourhood be sure to stop by though.
