All the staff there are very attentive and friendly. I enjoyed every moment while I stayed in there. The room is well maintained, spacious and modern. Each room has its own indoor bath which is extremely pleasant and sweet. Having said that, soaking in the public bath there is a must. One of the baths offers a nice view to Mount Yufu.

If you are finding reasonable place to stay in Yufuin, here will be one of the best. It is Japanese traditional ryokan that has outdoor public bath and indoor private bath. All the guestroom are located in separate houses. That will help you be free from noise at night.

Excellent service and comfortable room!! You can enjoy good view in garden, public bath room or even from balcony of room. The best choice of stay in Yufuin!!

Best ryokan so far from all my trips. Spacious room, polite staff (able to communicate in English), tasty breakfast, nice outdoor onsen with excellent view. They also offer private onsen to use, there are 8 private onsens, 3 of those need to pay, and others are free to use, just need to collect the key from the front desk. The only downside is the location is a bit far from the train station and some slopes need to overcome. Be prepared

TLDR; extremely disappointing as a japanese ryokan Booked a room and was supposed to have access to a private bathhouse that you can soak in at any time and as long as you want. However, when i went to the front desk to get the key for the private housebath, it was given to another guest. They then gave me the key to another bathhouse and was limited to only 1 hour use. The next morning, i went to the counter to ask for compensation, but was met with a patronising man who brushed off the issue and threw a free gift on the counter to dismiss me. In the end, i still had to check out early and was offered to use the bath house for 2 hours. I might as well have booked at a normal hotel, paid for a fancy dinner elsewhere, visited other private onsen and would have saved so much money instead of paying a premium price for a lousy experience. If you're looking for a good ryokan and expecting omotenashi おもてなし, head elsewhere because you're not going to find it here. おもてなしmore like おもて「ない」し EDIT after ryokan's reply: Apologies are free and do not change the fact that money was wasted. Why would I return? 😮‍💨

Nothing to say than Everything is perfect, the only thing I regrets is not booking with the dinner. 😭
