Visited on April 9, 2023. It is read as “Amakashi no Oka”. It is a gentle hill with an altitude of 148 meters, and from the observation deck you can see Asuka Village and the Yamato Sanzan. It was after the cherry blossoms had fallen, but I think it would be even more beautiful during the peak viewing season. It is said that the Sogano Emishi and Iruka family once built a residence at the foot of the hill to demonstrate their power to the world. Parking is free and there are restrooms. Although the park is huge, the parking lot is small. It was evening when I went, but it was still about half the time. The entrance is a slope, so you have to turn right immediately, making it a little difficult to enter.

(Translated by Google) Amakashi-no-oka in the Amakashi-no-oka district of the National Asuka Historical Park. The parking lot is free, but the number of cars that can be parked is small, so be careful during the tourist season. Rest assured that there is a toilet next to the parking lot. If you slowly climb the slope from the parking lot, you will face the hill and there is an observatory on your right that you can see the surroundings. Mt. Miminashi can be seen firmly in the northwest of Mt. Unebi in the west. In addition, you can enjoy the vast scenery of Mt. Nijo, Mt. Katsuragi, and Mt. Kongo. Asuka-dera Temple can be seen beautifully at the foot of the mountain on the east side, and Okadera Tower can be seen beautifully in the middle of the mountains. During the cherry blossom season, this observatory is covered with cherry blossoms, and the contrast between the nearby cherry blossoms and the cherry blossoms at the foot of the mountain or in the distance is beautiful. Immediately to the east, it is said that Mr. Soga's residence was on this hill, and there is the head mound of Iruka, who was beheaded by the strangeness of Otomi. It's good to just make it a landscape, but if you climb this hill after visiting many historic sites of Asuka, there is no doubt that the story of Asuka will add color and depth to the landscape. By all means, everyone.

(Translated by Google) I visited the Amakashi Hill Observatory for the first time in 50 years. The rows of houses in Asuka village on the east side were the same as before. Compared to the photo taken 50 years ago, the trees in front of the hill were much larger. The mountain range of Tonomine was also beautiful. I could see Yamato Fuji in the distance. I could see Mt. Wakakusa in the distance to the north. You can also see Mt. Ikoma. If you look around the west from the north side of the Yamato Basin, you can see Yamato Sanzan. In order, I could see Mt. Amagaku, Mt. Miminari, and Mt. Unebi. Mt.Futagami could be seen in the distance of Mt.Unebi. I could see Mt. Katsuragi and Mt. Kongo to the west. It is a wonderful view that makes you feel the romance of Manyo. I also went to the Kawahara observatory in the west. The view was a little narrower than Amakashi Hill Observatory, but it was a good view. After walking around Amakashi Hill, I visited Asuka-dera Temple.

I went here in June. I rented a bicycle (regular bicycle) at Kashihara-Jingumae Station and parked it at the bicycle parking lot on the north side... It was a long way, and there were a lot of stairs, so I climbed up with a whimper. It was a great effort! ! (lol) The road on the way to Amakashi Hill (the road just north of Ishikawa Pond) is quite steep and tough, and I think I'm not getting enough exercise and a regular bicycle would be fine. I deeply hated my arrogance (reflection). However, once I got to the top, the fatigue was completely gone...although I was surprised to find that the view was worth it. I sat on a chair at the top for a while, relaxing my body and relaxing my mind.

2023/07/27(Thursday) After leaving the bicycle rental shop, our Japanese friend Mrs. Morikawa took us to ride all the way to Ganqiao Hill. Ganqiao Hill is also the place which the Asuka National Historal Park is. We parked our bikes at the foot of the hill and walked slowly along the hiking trail to the viewing platform. There were lots of flowers and trees planted on both sides of the trail, which was particularly cool under the strong sun. It was really a good place to escape the summer heat. No wonder there were many locals coming here for a walk along the road . After walking for about more than 10 minutes, we arrived at the observation deck. From the observation deck, we had a sweeping view of Asuka Village and Kashihara City. We also overlooked Three Mounts of Yamato in the distance. Mrs. Morikawa specially wrote an article in Chinese and explained to us the historical events that occurred in the area during the Asuka Period. There also happened a romantic love story, which was very interesting. If you come to Asuka Village, I strongly recommend you to come here to enjoy the beautiful scenery. 2023-10-06 Kochia was blooming beautifully Some of them were a little brown, but I think they'll last a long time. I don't know if the slightly raised observatory can be called an observatory, but... You can see the scenery

Offers a nice view over the more famous spots in Asuka, while the more distant mountains between Nara and Osaka are also in clear view. Suitable for rests while you go hiking.

A perfect view from Asuka. The cherry blossoms on the top of the mountain are perfectly located. Standing under them looking at Nara prefecture is unique and simply remarkable.
