大正8年(1919年)に建てられた十二銀行江別支店の建物を再利用したお店です。
十二銀行は昭和18年(1943年)に北陸銀行と合併したため、こちらの建物は北陸銀行江別支店となり、昭和41年(1966年)まで北陸銀行として使用されました。
ちなみに北陸銀行ならぬ十二銀行は、明治期に石川県金沢町にて産声を上げた銀行で、本店を富山に置いて営業しつつ、北陸地方からの移住者が多かった北海道にも進出したとのこと。
現在の北陸銀行が、北陸のみならず北海道も主要な営業地域となっているのは、この時の名残なのだそうです。
なお、十二銀行は江別史上初の本格的な金融機関だったそうですが、当時の江別は河川水運の拠点として大いに栄えていたため、銀行が進出したタイミングは、むしろ遅かったのでは?という説もあった模様。
