Amazed by the flavor and texture of the soup curry here. Go for the 38 billion years style based curry. The chicken leg is well cooked so the meat literally fall off if you try to cut it open. Had to wait for half an hour during weekday lunch. And the kitchen ventilation is not well, the cafe is full of waste smoke.

Here we go… Two locations in Sapporo. I went with the North 13, West 3; not the other locations although I’ve been to all. This location boasts a very comfortable atmosphere. You can come and stay for a while or eat on the go. They’ve got booths, sofas and counter seating. The lighting gives off easy vibes…and then you get to the menu. It’s got it all and it is far beyond the basics of soup curry. I’ve been to Suage, Okushiba Shōten (that wasn’t good. At all…), but this one has it all. Flavor. Size. Price. Atmosphere and? STAFF!!! The manager is incredibly kind and always comes out for a chat. The owner is a musician and phenomenal. Picante has opened up a few new locations around Japan. They ARE foreigner friendly, contrary to other reviews, but due to the tables being connected to the floors they will have to split up larger groups. There are two choices of flavors of soup: 35 OKUNEN NO KAZE is the more flavorful of the two. They have an array of toppings. Their roast chicken leg usually sells out quickly, but there are a lot of options. My favorite is the YASSAI NO SUSUME (Vegetable Recommendation). I top it off with some cheese on top my rice with deep fried Camembert on the side. Wow. They’ve never faulted in service, quality, speed, cleanliness or taste in the years I’ve been going. Definitely an awesome treat! If you’re a snow rat? This will warm you right up. Mmmm, and hit ALL the spots!

Soup curry is not bad, I got the rich soup flavor. Took about 30 minutes for food to be served. Pretty good but honestly prefer suage or soup curry garaku

It was okay, nothing extraordinary. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this place, unless you are in the vicinity of Hokkaido University anyway. The wait time was about 30 minutes during lunch.

Not the curry that I had thought it is. Definitely worth trying out. Service staff very patient explaining each item to us.

Famous and delicious restaurant. The main dish offered in this restaurant is soup curry. Very special dish from Sapporo, if you are traveling to Hokkaido make sure to put this dish on your list. If you like curry, it won’t disappoint you.

Oh my goodness! We waited for over an hour for our turn to come. And honestly speaking it was worth waiting an hour or so. We ordered 3 different dishes. All of us really loved them. If you are going to Sapporo and not having this, then you are missing something extremely special. I highly recommend this one.

Solid. Don't expect too much since all of my group members were overhyping the dish and didn't get the most out of it. It has nicely charred veggies and a choice of protein. The lamb was very nice. I'd recommend no more than spice level 4. The herbal rich soup is not much different than rich soup.

Slightly off the beaten path, a longish walk from the JR Station. The restaurant is situated in a mostly residential zone and not crowded with tourists when i visited. The soup curries are very tasty and satisfying, it's a Japanese fusion stew. Choose the soup, (different varieties available, from a medicinal herbal flavour to a more standard stew like flavour), choose the meat, and the degree of 'heat' you want. Down it with a nice bowl of Japanese rice, with or without cheese 😄 Quite a unique flavour experience, I would rate soup curry as quite high on the list of food to try in Sapporo. I enjoyed my meal there. They have english menus for non Japanese speakers. The toilet is an amusing Austin Powers like experience.

Awesome! Actually spicy, one of the best broths I’ve had. Chicken was extremely crispy and juicy. Perfect meal on a cold winter day

The return of the restaurant that came over 10 years ago. There are many choices such as soup, spiciness, and toppings, and the menu and interior are fun. It can be said that there is more fun than taste in that it incorporates entertainment into eating. Then, the taste is acceptable in that the soup enhances the deliciousness of vegetables, but the soup is the most orthodox soup curry taste. I don't know anything else because I only ate a light Japanese flavor called "Kaibyaku".

My favourite soup curry restaurant to visit every time I visit Sapporo. Soup is flavourful and their crispy chicken is a must-try for first timers. Portion is big and filling. There is also parking space outside the restaurant but limited to 2 or 3 cars. Be prepared for a long queue and waiting time near lunch and dinner hour but it's worth the wait.

Very nice soup curry, the recommended spicy level is slightly spicier than the other soup curry i've tried in Sapporo but I guess it's still acceptable to most people.

I ordered the crispy chicken soup (1250 yen) and it really is crispy. Completely different from KFC if you know what I am talking about. Curry is very good and the soup is very tasty. I finished all the soup. One thing to note is that it take very long for the food to come. It is like 20 to 30 minute wait. I almost fall asleep when the food come. The guy kind of wake me up before he walks closers as the soup is hot. There are 5 levels of spicy level and you need to pay extra for more spicy food. Of course I ordered the 2nd least spicy becasue it is free. For those who care, this place is cash only. No credit card.

Soup curry, try the beef and pork, with light curry (Japanese style) and herbal style, will more prefer the light one. This is not a special food in Hokkaido, and I’m not like cloth and coat smells after finish the curry.

Best soup curry in this city! the rich soup is very tasty and smells nice. I had dinner at this restaurant twice and tried crispy chicken and beef tendon. the chicken was very crispy. I really recommend beef tendon, it was so soft that you don't have to chew at all.
