Very nice hotel, with super good hospitality and welcoming atmosphere. We stayed for one night with 2 meals. and the dinner set was amazingly beautifully crafted with all the local fresh ingredients. Breakfast was arranged no less than the dinner set. Really enjoyed the variety of food sets. From the hotel we could see Mt. Fuji, and was close to the areas for boat and cable car riding, either by walk or the shuttle bus. Highly recommend for everyone!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Asafuji during my trip to the Mt. Fuji area, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided exceptional service that truly made our two-night stay with our 1-year-old baby enjoyable. First and foremost, the staff at Hotel Asafuji deserves special recognition. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay. From assisting with our luggage to providing helpful tips and recommendations for exploring the area with a little one, their warm and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home. The rooms at Hotel Asafuji were immaculate and well-maintained. The cleanliness and attention to detail were evident as soon as we stepped into our spacious and cozy room. The comfortable beds and thoughtfully arranged amenities provided a relaxing atmosphere for both us and our baby. It's worth mentioning that the hotel staff made sure to create a safe and baby-friendly environment, adding an extra layer of reassurance for us as parents. One of the highlights of our stay was the dining experience at Hotel Asafuji. The dinner and breakfast served at the hotel's restaurant were simply outstanding. The wide array of delicious and beautifully presented dishes showcased the finest flavors of the region. The culinary team deserves praise for their culinary expertise and the impeccable service provided by the attentive waitstaff. Additionally, Hotel Asafuji's location amidst the picturesque scenery of the Mt. Fuji area added to the overall charm of our stay. The serene surroundings and breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji from the hotel were truly awe-inspiring. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Asafuji for anyone looking for a memorable stay in the Mt. Fuji area. The friendly and accommodating staff, delectable dining experience, and spotless rooms exceeded all our expectations. They made our stay with our 1-year-old baby not only comfortable but also truly enjoyable. I cannot thank the staff enough for their genuine care and attention. Hotel Asafuji is indeed a five-star gem that I would happily return to in the future.

We had a high expectation in this hotel since the reviews are so positive. We love the shuttle bus service, and the taxi driver was so passionate which made us feel warm. Yet, the Chinese speaking staff who served us was quite bossy and with bad emotions in him. The thermal bath area was quite small which was unexpected as well. The breakfast was perfect btw. Highly recommended for the meal.

Apart from the impressive view from the rooms and onsen, the staff was also very friendly. The kind receptionist lady helped us navigate a route to our next stay near Kofu (had to take a local bus), as well as gave some souvenirs! Ps. Don't forget about the free shuttle bus service to and from the hotels to the train station

We're from HK, and we just spent two days of wonderful time there. It may not be a very big and luxury hotel, but just because it is small, the hotel staff can recognize, talk and take care of you. Thanks for good suggestions to our itinerary every morning, and thanks for the small gifts to my little boy, they were big surprises to him, and he still keeps the paper hat after return HK. Highly recommend the meals to everyone!!

There are 5 star hotels around the area, this is a three star hotel with similar views and a 5 star service. The place is accessible and just beside the lake. The staff speaks English and Japanese. The onsen is a bit small but considering the size of the hotel its fine and you get a view of Mt Fuji. On check in they made a pickup from the tourist information center at Kawaguchiko station and even gave some beautiful photos of Mt. Fuji on our checkout. Would come back again.

Nice small hotel at good price where you can view Mount Fuji on a clear day. Overall good experience. Would be better stay if the sink in bathroom is clean better. We stayed for dinner and breakfast. They serve both meals at fixed session. Somehow felt a little rush dinning.

Words cannot express how lovely this hotel was. From the staff who waited for us to arrive to show us where to park, to the lovely rooms and Onsen, the the final good byes by the staff waving us on to our next adventure. The hospitality was second to none. Everyone was so lovely. My daughter burst into tears! She was not use to strangers being so kind and thoughtful. The rooms were wonderful. Traditional Japanese and had a lovely view of the lake and Mt Fuji to the left. The dinner and Breakfast was straight up AMAZING!, especially the dinner. You must have a traditional dinner there! Mt Fuji and the country was Incredible and this hotel took our experience to a hole other level! THANK YOU HOTEL ASAFUJI. We look forward to the next time we come to stay.

Phenomenal. Can't begin to describe how wonderful this hotel was. Staff was so warm and welcoming and gave us the rundown of how everything worked. Spacious room with beautiful view of the lake and Mt. Fuji (which came out from behind the clouds for us while we were there!) Beautiful onsen, also with a view of Mt. Fuji although the timing didn't work out for us to see it from the bath. Lovely traditional touches like being taught how to wear a yukata. Beautiful tea set to make green tea in the room. I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel! The hotel provides a shuttle to take you to and from Kawaguchiko station, you just need to call when you arrive. This hotel is also a nice 15-20 minute walk along the lake to the restaurants/shopping/station etc.

Stayed here over a weekend. Very friendly staff and the hotel is very cosy and not too large. Food is excellent and the onsen is on the 4th floor overlooking the lake and with a view of Mt Fuji. Hotel is in a great location with plenty of free parking next to the entrance. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in Kawaguchiko.

Exceptional food, best we have had so far. Service was also meticulous and thoughtful, and the staff offered us helpful advice on travelling during the typhoon season.

Great view of Mount Fuji from the room and from the Onsen on the top floor and right by the lake! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the breakfast and dinner were both tasty! They also offered a free shuttle to and from the station which was useful! The futon mattresses were comfortable and the traditional styled rooms were beautiful. I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to visit again!

One word - amazing. Low key Hotel that amazed us with food, service and comfort. For food, it’s simply amazing like what the other reviews mentioned. Must try their nabe soup which is so good! The staff were really friendly and were open to help us call/book activities. They even spent time to help plan our itinerary. The futon beds were also so comfortable and lying on it made me fall asleep so quickly.

Great staff with a lot of heart! I didn’t bring my chargers with me, they had a bunch to loan FOC.. it was a life saver especially on the first few days.. Also, I am very appreciative they are so good with kids! Our daughter had such a great time and they were so accommodative. Kudos to Hitomi San, Onedera san and also the Vietnamese lady who spoke such fluent Japanese. Giving biscuits and origami samurai hats to make her entertained!!! Highly recommended!!

One night stay - Beautiful caring staff who do their best to accommodate your needs and make you feel welcomed. The Japanese breakfast was delicious! I’m so glad I booked a reservation at this more traditional Japanese style hotel whilst in Fuji. I will never forget it! I highly recommend

Stayed here for a night. The view of mt fuji is beautiful and the food is excellent too. Can tell the chef has heart in preparations of the menu and food. The staff was so friendly especially the auntie who treated us like her family as well. The onsen is great! Nice and clean. Just remember to close the door! Otherwise male companions may accidentally stepped in and you may not want them to see you nude. My only 2 complaints are 1. the pillow…. Just too flat and some stains were on it. 2. The room was freezing at 3 deg at night and i fall sick after that night. They also have nice souvenirs for you to bring home. Everyone is nice… Also sorry to help on an english spelling error on your instructions and noticed the staff was unhappy after that. Should just kept quiet.

Amazing views of Mt. Fuji from the rooms to the onsen. The owners and staff are very courteous, polite, and friendly. The dinner and breakfast service were phenomenal; best meals in Japan this far. I would come here again and recommend it to family and friends.

One of the most beautiful accomodations I’ve ever stayed in. We were picked up from the nearby train station by their shuttle and was welcomed by the most welcoming and friendly staff at the hotel. They all spoke very good English and ensured that we had the most comfortable stay possible. The room was quite spacious with a stunning view of Mt Fuji from the window, the toilets and amenities were perfect. The onsen was small but as it wasn’t busy, we had it all to ourselves and you are able to enjoy the view of Mt Fuji from it as well. We had dinner and breakfast there, both meals were stunningly presented and tasted as good as it looked. We were both very full after each meal. The location is also amazing. Not only do you get a stunning view from your room but a short walk along the river will give you a perfect view of the mountain. There is also a bus stop immediately in front of the hotel to provide you access to nearby attractions. Overall I would definitely recommend staying at Hotel Asafuji. With amazing food and hospitality you definitely won’t be disappointed.

Hotel staffs were friendly and helpful! Super yummy 😋 dinner (I’m a very petite lady but I can finish all even the rice)! Nice view (can see Mount Fuji 🗻) from the hot spring and room! If we have a chance come back to Mount Fuji, we will stay here again! ❤️

So kawaii! The service here was absolutely exceptional. They served fresh Japanese sweets with hot green tea on arrival, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The room was spacious and clean, with tatami mats. Hotel Asafuji even offered pick up and drop off to the nearby station which was incredibly helpful.

A very good traditional Japanese hotel, first time staying at one. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The shuttle driver took us to the station when we went to sight see. Beautiful view of the lake and Mt.Fuji from he hotel room. The blankets are very comfortable but the pillows were a little bit thin, but overall it was a really nice stay.

Extremely nice staff. They might not speak perfect English but they try communicate with you to find out exactly what you need. Outstanding meal quality way over my anticipation. Delicious and beautifully presented. Recommend for anyone who like to try hotel experience similar to traditional Japanese style.

Everything is just so perfect in this hotel. The room is spotless, the most comfortable futon I have ever slept on, bathroom smells amazing and has a view of Mount Fuji. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Staff at check-in even brought us up to our room and explained all the facilities to us. They even prepared green tea with Japanese sweets for us right before we went into our room. Free parking spot for guests who are driving. We had our dinner and breakfast included during the stay. They serve traditional Japanese meal and everything wasn't just delicious, the display of it was so pretty as well. Yes, it is expensive, but it is definitely worth the experience. Even if you don't plan to have meals included, there are many restaurants in the area as well. Location is great as it just a short walk to Lake Kawaguchi. They have onsen with a view of Mount Fuji too.
