The quiet enchanting experience offered by this quaint little animal cafe is truly unique. If you have any love of animals I highly recommend a visit. You get to touch, hold, and relax with the owls in a calm soothing environment. The staff (and many of the owls) are very friendly. Guidance is available in English. FYI, they don’t serve food here, so don’t come expecting owl themed food. And don’t eat the owls, please.

The best, most amazing experience ever!!!! I'm so glad we got to go here. It was absolutely lovely and super cool. I do have to warn that it's not really a cafe as there's no food, but it's a place to see and have an amazing time with a whole bunch types of owls. You get to hold two owls of your choice and they take a professional picture and give it to you as a souvenir. Plus, you can take photos and make videos as much as you want as long as you don't use a flash. Also, we have to be as quiet as possible not to scare or disturb the owls.

This was truly a unique and memorable experience in the Akihabara neighborhood of Tokyo. My parents were a bit hesitant at first having wildlife to close to them. But they warmed up to it when they saw how peaceful and well trained the owls are. My kids ages 10 and 14 loved it the entire time. The couple are very friendly, professional and patient with you. I’d you are respectful of the owls and listen to their instructions it is a very peaceful and relaxing respite in the middle of a crowded and chaotic neighborhood. What a great break to the middle of our busy and full day running around Tokyo. I’m glad I found this place and it came highly recommended. As mentioned in other reviews, this isn’t a traditional cafe in that you don’t get any food. But you get a great photo souvenir included in your entry price and a really calm break from a long day. The owls themselves are so obedient and well behaved and fantastic creatures. I’ve never been so up close to such a majestic creature. They may be my new favorite animal now.

You get to have about 2-3 owls stand on your arm during the time slot depending on availability. Of course you can freely walk around and take pictures of the owls on their perches prior to making a selection. Rules are set in place about which owls are available and how to gently pet/touch them in order to protect the owls. You even receive a professional style laminated photo card with the first owl you choose as part of the experience. Even watching other customers interact with the birds can be funny. They’re a bit groggy at first since the time slots are in the daytime when they would normally be asleep. Nonetheless they get a little more curious and energetic once they get picked up. Overall a fun experience to admire and interact with owls.

This was such a fun experience! When you get there, you have to wait outside but while waiting you can read about all the owls you are going to meet. There's guides about what the atmosphere will be like and how to approach the birds. Once you are inside, the owl concierge will go over the rules about how to best take care of the owls. You can tell that they really care for the birds and make sure that their environment is optimal to keep them happy. After that introduction, prepare for some quality owl time! The concierges will help you hold an owl and they will take quality commemorative photos for you to take home. It's a great experience and I would definitely recommend!

This place was just amazing! The whole family absolutely loved our time there. Just when we thought we were done with our experience here, the owners gave us a special surprise. What a great touch! I'm always a little iffy about going to animal cafes, but after going through the website and then actually visiting you can definitely tell the people who run Akiba Fukuro Cafe care for their owls. The website had a ton of information on visiting the cafe, the owls at the cafe and even getting information on becoming an owl parent. I really liked the reservation system and only having a limited amount of people inside. Helps limit anxiety for the owls. The thing that sold me the most was the break time for the owls. There were signs posted around the cafe that said owls were on break and to please no disturb them by touching them. That was the first cafe I've seen to have signs like that posted. They also request you speak in a quiet tone to help limit any extra anxiety. It seems like the owls have quality care. I am very pleased with my visit and would definitely recommend this owl cafe. I will totally try to come visit again.

Amazing experience, truly. First time being so close to owls and plenty of time to observe them up close. Can also pet them a little, and they are so fluffy!!! The atmosphere of the whole space is cozy and relaxing. You get to pick 2 owls to stand on your arm so you can really stare at their round eyes. ☺️☺️☺️ There is no food or drinks though so dont come in thirsty or hungry. They even give you a photo in the end as a gift. A highlight during our trip to Japan for sure.

This owl cafe is just amazing. The owners are wonderful, friendly people who genuinely care and love their owls. The owls are well looked after and are adorable. The venue has the most calming and quaint vibe to it, which is relaxing for you and the owls! You get to gently touch the owls and have a turn at holding a couple, and have your photo taken with them. Before you enter you get to read a booklet on each of their owls and their story - there is English and Japanese booklets (can't recall if any other languages).

I had a great time with the lovely owls!! Like some other people mentioned in their reviews. I hesitated to go because I would rather see them in the wild. But I love birds of prey so much I want to have a closer look at them. I read the reviews and found they are very well kept so I reserved anyway. My friend told me he went to another owl cafe before but the experience was very different and he totally preferred this one more. We had a great experience at Owl Cafe Fukurou. It's a very nice setup with a great atmosphere. The owls all have different personalities and the staff worked hard to match owls to each person in our family. Our 7 year old daughter hasn't stopped talking about the owls all day, it was time well spent. We highly recommend it.

This was one of those experiences that we had not planned for but at the end of the visit, can truly say would not have missed it for the world! Interacting with any owl, let alone the numerous owls there, was a fascinating experience like no other. At first glance they did not even look real, until one of them turned and looked at us. It's so cool to hang out with over 30 well behaved and well trained different types of owls. You can take photos and videos as much as you want but not allowed to use flash. Being quiet and gentle is a must to not to scare or distract the owls. You can touch and hold the owls the proper way, the staff will assist and give instructions. The place is clean and the staff were so attentive and well dressed. There is no feeding of the owls and no food is allowed. A must add on your want to go list in Tokyo. Children will surely love it here too.

One of the best activities of my trip, got it as a recommendation from a friend. For a decent price you get to spend 45 minutes with a bunch of owls. I like that they are very thoughtful about the owls and make sure they take lots of breaks. There are so many owls and everywhere I looked I saw a new one. You get to pick two to hold while you are there and the pictures they take for you are amazing.

You get to choose two owls to sit on your arm and they definitely all have their own traits. Some are more sleepy, some more active, and some you cannot touch. The little owls were my favorite, they are so cute, but the big ones were also very cool to interact with. Overall would highly recommend!

I had a great time! We started promptly at 17:00 and got a quick introduction on who (pun intended) the owls are, how to pet them, and how to request to hold them. The owls span from smaller than a football (small) to the size of a stool (big). I held Queen of Hearts, Cracker, and Gorilla - all big owls to work out my arm. Each owl has their own attitude. Queen of Hearts is a women only owl and is aggressive so you can see her scanning the room for confrontation. Cracker is aggressive and lively; he likes to fly and does fly between your arm and his post. I forgot what gender Gorilla is but Gorilla is very chill and is a great weight to work out your arm with. The hosts took everyone’s photos in the meantime. I also got a laminated photo of me holding Queen of Hearts! The place was clean and peaceful. It is what I expected from an owl cafe. I’d like to go back!
