Food was average. Atmosphere is very nice. We were given a private room. Service staff were friendly but speaks only Japanese. The soup for the unagi set was missing and came only after we called for the bill (ironically)

The Unagi rice was perfectly cooked. The waitress do her best explaining the different ways to eat the Unagi Rice. Can select from a wide price range. Recommended.

Unagi thats fresh and affordable, when i visited the shop, it was filled up with locals grabbing a good lunch on a weekday. if the locals love it, it must be good! the unagi was soft and tasty, i especially loved the rice when it was paired with the tea.

Good food but a bit expensive for this quality and quantity. There was a big line up. You should book your table beforehand. It’s called hitsumabushi. Cooked eel on rice in the bucket thing. There are 3 ways of eating. 1, You just put it in a bowel then into your mouth. 2, You put some seasonings on it. 3, You put some seasonings and “dashi” stock over it.

We waited for about 2 hours to eat but it was Obon and I think you could expect that anywhere! There are small portions for 1850¥, but the main set is about 3000¥. It was delicious...I kind of like eel, but not that much, but this changed my mind- I really really enjoyed it. So flavourful and fulfilling.♥It was a good experience and I recommend it to anyone who goes to Nagoya.

Had to try the famous Nagoya speciality of hitsumabushi, and this place had good reviews. We were not able to book, but they have a ticket system where you register then wait. Luckily we did not have to wait at all, this was about 6pm on Friday night. They provide an English menu and explanation of how to eat/mix the condiments. I also recommend a little sansho pepper on top-gives a tingling sensation! The pickles are also yummy.

We are a group of 13 people with 7 kids. It was the national holiday and no prior booking is accepted. So we went there at around 8:00 to try our luck. We managed to get inside by 20min queuing time. Food is excellent. Best grilled eel ever have had! The waitress is very nice too. She provides excellent service.

The service was excellent as their staff was really nice and considerate. I find the unagi tasty, but my mom didn't like it. I guess it depends on people to like it or not. Personally, i always wanted to try hitsumabushi, so it was my good first time. We had it for dinner so the price could be quite higher than that for lunch. This set of mini hitsumabushi and normal histumabushi and fried chicken was 5980¥.

Waited over an hour for this place and the eel was good but the wait times put me off. Am sure there are other places where you can get hitsimabushi from that have less wait times and the same quality. It is cheaper than other places though. We got hitsimabushi for 2,500 yen most other places do it for around 4000 yen and up

Crispy eel and rice, and having them with dashi(stock) is so tasty.
