This is very much a hate love place. They have the usual Costco goodness - cheap meat, cheap produce, good frozen goods, imported food at cheap prices like affordable oatmeal. However, it is always crowded and there are a good number of people that seem to think it is a good idea to bring their whole extended family with them and walk slowly up and down the aisles gawking at everything. Also, most customers have yet to master basic shopping cart skills like keeping it out of the middle of the aisle and sticking to the left. A lot of people like to come very early, wait in line and rush into the place. So, going at around 12 when that crowd has finished and is eating in the food court is usually a good idea. Alternatively, you can get there just before 12 eat and then go shopping with fewer crowds.

It is a Costco 18km far from Kyoto city. It has verity of stuff but I would recommend cookies, bread, fruits, honey and particularly fresh baked pizza. It is quite busier during weekends, and also gets really crowded in the morning everyday s, so to avoid the rush I think it would be good to visit during the closer to end of day.

The food there is awesome, so cheap compared to the quantity and quality that you’ll get! But u’ll need a membership card to get in. And the line is quite a wait but worth it! Enjoy!

Love Costco in Japan, but the hamburger in the food stand is the most expensive (except for a whole pizza) and least tasty item on the menu. The beef and sauce seemed to lack any seasoning, and the bun was toasted in away that almost perfectly replicated the texture of stale bread. Best to order pretty much anything else.

It's a Costco and just like the US Costco plus Japanese foods like sushi that are made there. Great selection of other products as well - they even have gym and camping equipment from the US at US prices! Gets really crowded in the morning. Go closer to end of day to avoid the rush.

We were turned away as a family of 4 because they do not let more than 1 additional person in without a second costco card, and then they proceeded to let in other groups that didnt follow the 2 person/card rule, including a group of 6 people using 1 card. Dunno if its cause we're tourists but its a good thing to keep in mind if you arent a native.

Just like Costco America except with different currency. Same deals. Same hot dogs. Same price. Everyone's super helpful. May as well be stepping into a US Embassy it's so identical.

I like this Costco as it is less cluttered than other ones. However, depending on the time and day it can be really full!

It's a Costco, so nothing much else to add. Staff are always friendly. The only thing I have to say negatively is the change in menu for the fast food area. They've scaled the choice to pretty much burgers, pizza or the infamous hot dog deal. Little bit disappointing, but it's still tasty and priced quite reasonable.

Costco in Kyoto. No much difference from the other country. It's very crowded in weekend and around 1-3pm after lunch in weekdays. There is big DIY store next to costco and many small stores near by. I recommend going to Super Sento ’’Suishun''(水春) 1 min to drive after shopping.

Lost the receipt for a relatively expensive item I purchased with my overseas Costco card. Took a while for them to reprint me another one but good customer service nonetheless. Always come here for gas. Only downsides are the lack of weekly sale items and parking can be bit of a bother depending on what time you go. The sushi platter, the cheese tart, and BLT rolls are a must.

I find it too crowded (we went on a Saturday afternoon), and the place is a bit small? Or maybe it was the arrangement of the shelves that made the entire warehouse seem small. So many things you can buy, best to go in a car.

Traffic is a mess going into Costco yawata. Customer cars are lined up til the next traffic light waiting to enter costco. Inside the parking lot also chaotic drivers were circling around on the first parking level and the second level which is the roof top was more then half empty. So probably a little guidance would improve the traffic flow and parking situation. Inside the costco the aisles are very narrow compared to the big side shopping carts. The variety of products is good , while range of dairy, meats, seafood and a whole lot of other items. Overall good location but the amount of customers seems to exceed the average capacity of this Costco branch.

Prices are great for bulk buying plus the hot food section before exiting the cashier has great money for value food for those that require a quick snack or meal. The only drawback is that it's not family friendly. For those that require a quiet spot for breastfeeding, this place doesn't have it. Be ready to make your own arrangements for that.

A bit far from the center of the city. Big parking space typical for a Costco store. Clean and well arranged.

Location is a little far away from Kyoto urban but compare to other Costco in Japan it’s not a big one.
