👍👍 This place was amazing. It gives you a chance to stay in a traditional Japanese home. With the plum blossoms in the court yard, the unbelievably comfortable beds, the beautiful shojis, and the lovely hostess Kayoko, it made for an unforgettably wonderful experience. Highly recommend to anyone. People often mention Kayoko, house, Japanese, breakfast, stay, wonderful, experience, host, guest,

Stunningly beautiful guesthouse that used to be the home and workshop of a Japanese inkmaker. Lovely host. Japanese vegetarian breakfast especially for us. Close to everything (Nara is small, though packed with sights), located in a beautiful quarter of the town. Very Japanese experience. We loved it.

Delightful to be hosted with such care and delicacy at our favourite place in our stay in Japan. An absolute treat to experience the true flavour of a traditional Japanese house. Superb breakfast which Kayoko made especially for me, being vegetarian. Arigatooooo! Loved every minute of it.

We stayed there for a night in 2019. It was really a wonderful a peaceful moment. The host was so nice with us and the place so beautiful and comfortable. Certainly one of my best ryokan experience.

Amazing ! We only stayed one night but it was a great experience in a japanese guesthouse. The host was great, very helpful and spoke very good english. The japanese breakfast was also excellent. It's also not too far from everything. Greatly recommend it !

We had a lovely stay at Sakuraya guest house. The owner was extremely friendly and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. She served us hot tea and sweets in the afternoon, a delicious Japanese breakfast in the morning, and even drove us to the train station. Our guest room was serene and comfortable with a lovely view of the garden. Shower and bathroom facilities lovely as well. We highly recommend Sakuraya guest house. Thank you for your hospitality!

The lady owner speak good English and is very cheerful and super helpful. The place is clean and the setup is slightly better than the usual guest house as there is a tea room for proper sit down meal. Breakfast is adequate and the coffee is above average. We occupy the lower 2 rooms. The shower is hot and strong. We enjoyed the stay. The only complain I had is the upper floor guest came down in the wee hours of the morning and wake most of us due to their heavy walking down of the stairs.

Can't say enough good things about Kayoko and the lodging. We stayed at her second guesthouse, Solaye, which was not only beautifully and thoughtfully designed and appointed, but comfortable, quiet, and a perfect size for our family. The host is all you could ever want, present, helpful, kind, generous, but leaves you to your own time and relaxation as well. Perfect stay, we look forward to staying there again!

We went to Nara with 3 little kids. The hostess Kayoko, who speaks English fluently, was so helpful driving us around when we were short on time, accommodating our dietary restrictions, and even entertaining our kids (who loved her!) while we were enjoying some nice tea and breakfast. She definitely went out of her way to make sure we have everything we need. The house is very nice and even has a small garden inside. There's also a public onsen a short walk away. Kayoko gave us everything we needed. She was wonderful. Thank you Kayoko-san!

This is place is utterly exceptional place. Excellent and personal hospitality is assured by Kayoko who is highly intelligent and well traveled worldwide. I felt I made a home in Nara. I enjoyed this space in 4D(even 5D) for all sorts of directions. Surely I will come back.

This was a delightful place to stay for our night in Nara. Kayoko was an incredibly generous, helpful and knowledgeable host! The house and room were beautiful and charming, with excellent facilities. We were able to leave our luggage prior to check in and Kayoko provided a map and useful tips for seeing the deer park and temples, and where to get tasty food for m Lunch and see the cherry blossoms. Later on once we’d checked in she served us tea and sweets and she was able to direct us to a nearby restaurant for us try unagi that evening. The breakfast the next morning was also absolutely delicious! A wonderful experience. So glad we chose to spend a night here - Thank you Kayoko!

Kayoko's house is magnificent, we quickly realize that Kayoko is a passionate woman. Everything was perfect, the welcome, the rooms, the breakfast, we were immersed in Nara between anciens and contemporaneous in this wonderful old house with Kayoko who was incredible nice to us. I recommend strongly!
