One of the most famous castle in Japan. Not to miss if you're in Kyoto or Hiroshima from where it takesi approximately 1hr using the Shinkansen. Entry fee to castle is 1000 JPY and for 50 yes more the Japanese garden nearby is included.

Amazing!! A few weeks too early for the cherry blossoms, but I can imagine how "B-E-A-UTIFUL" this place will be!!

A reccomended place to see if you're looking for other than Osaka Castle. It has zoo and museums too, you can easily spend the whole day here. Though, there will be hours of queueing especially in high season. The castle closes at 4.00pm and there's no lights inside the castle.

We were lucky. The day was beautiful. The castle is one of the few that dates back to the 17th century. The castle keep was struck by one bomb during WWII. Fortunately, the bomb did not explode and we have the benefit that the structure is intact albeit renovated a few times.

Climbing up the iconic Himeji Castle Tower was an awe-inspiring experience! The tower's majestic architecture and rich historical significance make it an absolute must-visit. The panoramic views from the top are breathtaking, offering a glimpse into Japan's glorious past. A true gem that beautifully encapsulates Japan's cultural heritage!

I suggest that this castle is a national treasure, and worth visiting. The stairs are quite steep, so if you have mobility issues, perhaps it would be a bit tricky. There are other elements of Himeji Castle, such as the cosmetics tower, which has quarters for ladies in waiting and Princess Sen, etc., so consider making good time for this set of structures. Himeji Castle has the most well preserved broader castle grounds I have ever encountered, and so the area can take a few hours to enjoy. If you have time for a full day in Himeji, take the combined castle and garden ticket. The gardens adjacent to the castle are lovely, and it has a nice tea spot that is very worthwhile. There is a nearby museum worth a look as well.

Very nice and spaceful garden. Historical place which is supported mainly by two long pillars. Soft breeze when you climb into the castle. Has so many long benches to have rest. The stairs are much steep. Suggest to come with non-hot travel season and cool weather.

Majestic Beauty and Educational Splendor at Himeji Castle Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stands as a testament to history and is undoubtedly a journey worth embarking on. Fortunate with unexpectedly glorious weather, we basked in the splendid sunshine while exploring the castle grounds. To fully appreciate the site, budget at least 90 minutes. The castle is impeccably maintained, offering photographers a plethora of captivating scenes that could extend your visit indefinitely. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the castle provides an enlightening experience with detailed explanations about its history and former inhabitants. Incorporating Himeji Castle into your travel itinerary is a must. Consider the combo ticket with the nearby Koko-en Garden for added savings—an excellent choice for a memorable experience. Imagining the breathtaking cherry blossoms, while acknowledging the likely crowds, this destination remains a gem. A visit here is not just a journey into beauty but also a valuable lesson in history. Can't wait to return.

Personally, this place does not depict the historical scenes as the item displays are few. Also, be prepared for some steep climbing up the different level of the tower. However, the climax after all the climbing is the panoramic view of the surrounding from the highest level of the tower. It is also a good place for some photos taking for memory. So enjoy yourself and immerse with the surrounding. Lastly please be careful when climbing the steep stairs as it is not going to be a comfortable landing should there be a misstep.

Second time visiting and it is always an enjoyable day. Best to visit in the morning when it opens rather than the afternoon as there is generally less people in the morning.

Great visit. Incredible UNESCO site. In Incredible condition. Strenuous enough to get to the top on many stairs. Mind your head if you're tall.
