素敵な雰囲気！ 渋川市方面から岩井堂をすぎて中之条町に入ってすぐ。 春祭りにいってきました。素敵な雰囲気の空間に素晴らしい出展者で楽しく過ごせました。 裏手に素敵なゲストハウスが誕生していました。ちょっと見るだけでもワクワクな空間ですね。休憩もできてありがたい！

うた種 (Utatane) is a charming little tea cafe zakka-ya that overlooks the Agatsuma river. They have a delicious selection of teas and also offer french-press coffee as well. You can add a light tea cookie to your order to compliment your beverage. Order a cup and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and gorgeous view of the Agatsuma river valley. The building, a former restaurant, uses exposed wood and whitewash to exude a cozy charm that, with the help of large picture windows, blends wonderfully with the forest. While waiting for your tea you can peruse a fine selection of made-in-Japan small house goods, or head over to the "sewing corner" to find a nice addition to your next project. Utatane is a great place to pull off the road and enjoy a moment to yourself before continuing on up the valley to Kusatsu or Shima onsen. It serves equally well as a final place of refuge before you head back to the bustle of the Kanto plain. (There is no English menu that I am aware of. But the Japanese menu is light on Kanji so it is not too hard for a learner to read. If one is friendly and polite you will have no trouble here, no matter the language.)

JR小野上温泉〜市城駅間に存在する素敵なお店です。 車道から見ると一見入りづらそうな雰囲気がありますが、実際に訪れるとウェルカムな居心地の良さがあります。 店内では裁縫の教室、雑貨販売などしており、眼下に流れる吾妻川と、せわしなく車が走る県道を見ながらゆったりとした時間を過ごすことができます。 店内は賑やかな音楽もなく日当たり良好で、日々の喧騒を離れボーッと過ごすことができました。 最近忙しさや焦燥感で余裕のない日々を送っている自覚があったので、もっとゆっくり歩けばいいんだよと教えてくれたような充実感がありました。 名前も「うた種」というのがなんとも言えない素敵さがありますね。
