An amazing dinning experience available in different locations throughout Japan, but we enjoyed ours most in Osaka. Quick and tasty, but take your time enjoying the savory cuts you get to cook to your own delight at your table. Very friendly and efficient staff. Some waiting likely during dinning hours, so maybe try to make a reservation or be sure to put your name down along with your order while you wait in the stairway or around the area.

Good amount of seating area even for larger groups. There is only one thing on the menu and when you do it well that’s all you need. Highly recommend this place. Enjoyed cooking on the stone, the food was delicious and lovely service. The origami is a lovely touch 👌

I agreed with most review which food is good and worth to try. The menu available in English and with different set for 1, 1.5 and 2 pieces. I picked 1.5 for lunch which is good enough. Some improvement areas to this shop. The queue time is too long. I came on Tue 2pm and there is a long queue. I guess it should be less than 1 hour but at the end is 1.5 hour. The queue is not really moving. When I got in the restaurant, there are one to two staff responsible for ordering, food delivery and cashier. There are empty seat inside but customer is waiting at door. Also, they accept credit card but no credit card reader. Now I understood why most customer spent a long time at the cashier. Most customers are foreigner from Korea Hong Kong Taiwan and a little is local. See the picture with a long queue and most bring with baggage.

Food is absolutely delicious. The only reason why its not a full 5 stars is because its smokey and not very well ventilated. However the gyukatsu was outstanding. The quality is fantastic.

This place is a must try for those that have never had it! This beef just melts in your mouth and tastes so delicious! I would recommend going to the location right beside Tulley’s coffee shop since they aren’t as busy and able to seat you faster. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. Ordering is an easy process and your food arrives in less than 10 minutes. Large parties can be tricky and they’ll split you up into groups of four for larger parties. Give this place a try and you will not regret it!

Worth the wait! Got there 20 mins before they opened and there was already a line. The ordering was pretty quick and they had your food ready once ready to be seated. The turn around was quick and we waited no time to eat once we were in The food was sensational, great dining experience, simple but full of flavour! Service was fantastic, and the price very good for what you get!

FOOD : GOOD! PLACE : Ok. SERVICE : Good. TOILET : Clean. PRICE : Fair. A friend suggested this restaurant, its said it has the perfect cook beef and delicious. Its correct, the cutlet was perfect cooked. The set meal was perfect for me and dont forget the beer will complete it. Be patient with the line, this place is very famous. I spent 1 1/2 hours. I suggest coe here earlier. The restaurant is in the basement. Be careful when you are in the stair. The Staffs handled the line very well. Before entering the door, the staff will ask your order so you dont take too long for the food after got the seat. Overall this restaurant wide enough, so its good for small group, friend, couple. I reccommend this place, its a must try.

My favorite meal from our most recent Japan trip! The beef was high quality and was really delicious and tender. The sides sauces were really good too! Their staff was lovely and accommodating. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends visiting Japan. In terms of the wait time, we ate at around 3pm for late lunch and waited for around 20-30 minutes for a table which is not too bad.

Waited in line for like 30/40 minutes but it was well worth the wait… super friendly staff and the dishes were delicious! They make you order before taking the seat so you waste no time. Amazing food experience, highly recommend! Be prepared: after dinner your clothes will take some smoke and some smell…

Wow! Delicious, tender meat. The set meal is great value! We didn't have any wait at all, Wednesday evening around 8pm, but there was a short line that had formed in the meantime. 5/5, great experience.

We went to eat the Gyukatsu menu twice! You can grill the meat to your liking, which is great. Not to fatty and it is really delicious!

There will probably be a line and I can tell you that’s it’s worth the wait. This stuff is so good. Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the gyukatsu has no flaws. They provide a stone grill if you’d like to cook the inside a bit more alongside some salt and sauces to dip. Overall, a place I can easily recommend for lunch or dinner!

Really worth the wait, I came to the restaurant on weekdays around 5:30PM, waiting for the queue around 45 min. The beef is so tender and delicious, you can refill the rice bowl. But after you enjoy your meal, you will smell like a beef for awhile. Don't forget to scan for a free wifi because at downstairs there is no network, also they got a toilet inside the restaurant.

Gyukatsu Motomura was one of the restaurants I knew I needed to try when in Japan. It came highly recommended by friends but is also incredibly popular on social media. We arrived around 5pm and after a short wait, our order was taken and we were shown to our seats. By the time we were leaving, there was a line out the door so I recommend coming before prime time for a shorter wait. What we got: - Gyukatsu Set Menu with 1 cutlet - Set came with Miso soup, rice, cabbage, potato salad, grated yam, mentaiko, and warabimochi Final Thoughts: This was the perfect first meal in Japan! The staff was friendly and service was very quick. I loved how you were able to control the cook of your meat and it was tender while being perfectly crispy on the outside. The salad complimented the meal by providing some freshness to cut through all the meat and rice. The yam and mentaiko were okay, I personally wouldn't notice if they weren't included. The mochi was a very soft and a great way to end the meal.

Was very impressed with Motomura years ago in Tokyo; decided to try it again in Osaka. Not disappointed.

Tasty food, had it in Tokyo and now in Osaka. English menu available, price is ¥1300 and a small beer ¥350. Service impeccable and meat tender. Had about 20 people in line on a Saturday night. Their new location is 70m from the previous spot. See photo.

This place is outstanding. Be aware that your clothes will smell like barbecue for the rest of the day, but the food is great. For the price is something unthinkable. The line is big but they are quite fast. I got a huge line but it went really fast and they took the order in the line. When we sit it took literally 1 minute for the food be there. The side dishes are a bit bad but rice is good and free refil if you need it. WAGYU KOBE BEEF

Fabulous beef katsu! You get to cook the beef to the intensity you want- fully cooked, medium rare, etc. Also offer free rice refill x 1. No need to get drink set as they offer iced sugar less tea for free. Sauces and sides are nice too. If you are in pairs and both are big eaters, would be cheaper to choose 1 set of 1 cutlet and 1 set of 2 cutlets then share. Long queue forms during lunch period but it moves quite fast too. Stay patient for good food. Highly recommend this!

I waited an hour but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT. The most buttery and tender beef I’ve ever had. The breading was thin but extremely crispy. I like my beef medium rare but well-cooked pieces were also phenomenal. All the sides were fresh and delicious too. Honestly I don’t think I had anything like this before. Big shout out to the the staff. They were super friendly and kept things in order. The experience was 10/10.

The best word to describe this place is: fun! Hot stone cooking meets katsu style breaded beef cutlet. If you leave them a review you get a choice of a drink: oolong tea, soft drink or orange juice. I was going to leave a review anyways. Of course, this has the added (or intended) effect of increasing the number of reviews and therefore, more visits from google map users. But besides that caveat, this place is actually good (food wise) and worth taking your significant other for a date or for just a good experience. Cash only. Small seating area. I recommend just going with regular beef, I’m not sure what “w” beef is (presumably “w” for wagyu?)

It was a great experience, food was delicious and one of the staff, Takuya, he's really friendly, he's helped us moving our big luggages downstairs and surpirsingly could also speak our language (indonesian) which he learned himself

Food was good! The beef was very tender. Arrived at around 15:00 and went in at about 15:30. We put our order in before we were seated. Once we sat down the food came within 2 minutes. They did miss beer order initially. So we had to re-order.

Very yummy gyukatsu that allows you to cook to your preferred done-ness!! Beef is really tender, set comes with a free refill of rice for big eaters and they also provide flow iced houjicha tea. The only downside of this place is how poorly ventilated it is :(

The menu is simple with only a few choices but the food is tasty and the price is reasonable (not the cheapest though). The service is excellent and all the staff is super friendly and accommodating. They have another location 30 second walk away from their main shop hidden away in the basement that can accommodate even more people, which reduce the queue by a lot 👍🏻 worth trying!

I wish i can give more than 5 stars for the dining experience here.. 100/10 for the gyukatsu, so nice that we came back twice during our few days visit in osaka.

100 stars! One of the best meals I’ve had on my Japan trip. Queued up at 12:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon and took just over an hour to get in. We ordered two of the 1.5 cutlet and were absolutely stuffed at the end. The cutlet was crumbed perfectly and was soo juicy. The condiments on the side also complimented the dish so well and was nice to finish off with some warabi mochi. They also let you top up another bowl of rice free of charge. Highly recommend!

The food is good to give a try if you have lots of free time when traveling here. I came around at 6:30 pm and had to wait 1 hour. They have another store which few steps away from the main store. If you are not so hungry, 1 cutlet is good enough for the meal. They offer free rice (1 time as I remembered) and tea. Orange juice is not good.

One of my favorite meals in Japan. They only serve gyukatsu, which is a deep fried cutlet, and the protein of choice here is Wagyu. They offer three size options, and I went with the 1.5, which was just enough to savor and enjoy. The queue was about 40 minutes in 90+ humidity, which was painful because there wasn’t a place we could sit while waiting. Upon entering, our meal was served within minutes of seating. I really enjoyed the way the gyukatsu was brought out rare, and we can cook it to the desired doneness using a table top cooking stone. The cabbage with their special dressing complimented the Wagyu very well, chasing away the bit of fattiness from the meat. The miso soup was good too, and there was also a little bit of dessert of the tray. Overall, a delicious and well-rounded meal with sides that complemented the main dish very well.

Best meal my family had in Japan. It's amazing how the beef remains tender despite being breaded. Had to wait 45mins even though we queued early at 5.15pm. But once seated, area is spacious by japanese standards, food is served very fast, and servers were attentive and friendly, even played with my 1.5yo baby. Extremely value for money, only 2600yen for one 1.5portion (195g) set. My family of 2 adults and 3 young children shared 2 sets. Complimentary water and tea is served. It is easy to see why this place is so highly rated. We'll definitely be back the next time we are in Japan.

I have to say OMG! I just had the best beef I ever had. It literally tastes like butter and it bites away like it too. Now I really know what's it like when others say it melts in your mouth. It's so damn delicious and inexpensive. Very good quality beef with excellent value! Premium Wagyu beef. The line up actually starts downstairs but on a very hot day is unbearable to be down there for a long time.

  • 2/5 Midworld K. 9 months ago on Google
Too hot in there. Their air conditioning system was too weak so it couldn’t cool the air. It was a hot steam sauna so I couldn’t remember the taste of the foods. Foods are fine but I recommend near restaurants that has proper air conditioning system.

First time have Gyukatsu. I'm a big fan of normal pork tonkatsu, but I've always felt that beef wouldn't be tender enough for katsu, and if it were, it would be a waste of the beef. This changed my mind. The Gyukatsu were all extremely tender and flavoursome. They were served parcooked with panko, and the DIY experience cooking them was great. Order 2 1.5 cutlets (about 200g each) and it was enough to feed my family of 2+3 (admittedly we snacked on Takoyaki before this). It was also very reasonably priced at 2600yen each. I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. I started queueing at around 530pm on a Sunday and the wait was about 20+min. Service was great, and the staff were accommodating of my requests. They served us rice tea immediately upon seating us, and the order was already served very soon after as we had to order while queueing. Kids have complimentary rice and sauce, but there were no high chairs.

  • 5/5 Adam K. 1 year ago on Google
Came here around 5pm on a Sunday and waited for about an hour. Be ready to wait longer if you come later. There is only one item on the menu and that is thinly breaded, well marbled beef steaks! You have the option to choose one, one and a half or two steaks. I am a big eater and two are enough since the marbling can be quite filling. The sides are good and it comes with rice that you can refill once (small, medium or large). The wait can be long but you will be rewarded with a topnotch tasting meal (also good value, 3400 Yen for two steaks, including a beer). One thing they could improve on is the ventilation. You will walk out smelling like grilled steak after filling your belly. Definitely not a place you want to visit right before a romantic date or a club. Be warned, you will not be very popular smelling like that... Also note that each person has to order a meal (ie. you cannot split one meal between two people). Enjoy!

This beef katsu got me feeling some type of way. It is so good. I literally inhaled it. My only regret was not ordering the 2 cutlet set. If you can eat - get the 2 cutlet set. The pieces in pictures are deceiving, they’re one bite pieces. The beef fatty/buttery and it is very rich/savoury in flavour but not the way kobe/wagyu beef is. There are some greens to help cleanse the palette and you can consume more of the beef katsu. The staff are super friendly. They have an awesome system going so that once you’re seated, your food is out within minutes. Love the food. Don’t be intimidated by the lineup for seating - it is worth it. I paid 4530 yen for my GF and I (1 cutlet + 1.5 cutlet), you can pay credit card. TLDR: must try.

Gyukatsu is like tonkatsu but made with beef. After staff served your food you have to grill meat on small stove. Service is very good. It's ok even you can't understang Japanese. Staff will ask you in case you come here first time or not and will try to explain how to eat in english. If you like meat I recommend this!

Beef was incredibly juicy , soft and melts in your mouth ! 4 star given as it was a weekday and we went about 3.30pm (thinking that it is off peak) , there were about 10 people ahead of us so thinking it was really crowded (couldn't see from outside as it was at the basement) Waited for about an hour and finally got our seats , we realised that the whole place was only barely 15% full -- 85% empty ! I guess the reason was they were so understaffed. Only 2 chefs (as far as we could see) and only 1 waitress ! that was the real reason why we waited for so long .

  • 5/5 Dylan G. 1 year ago on Google
Great food! The beef was so tender and juicy, nice and crispy on the outside. Served very rare but you cook it on a hot rock to your liking. Good sides too. Great value for the amount and quality of food!

  • 5/5 Valerie L. 4 years ago on Google
Location is just right beside BIC camera but it's on the B1 so you will need to take a short stairs down. The food pricing is very affordable for 1300yen ample to fill a regular person's tummy. If you don't like it too rare, there's a stone stove for you to cook it further. Staffs here are nice, able to communicate in fluent English but best of all the beef is superb, I love it and will sure come back again!

Had a very pleasant dinner here! Came at around 7pm and I really need to wait around 10mins then voilaaa~ my dinner was served already!! The meat waaaaaas so tender *cry😭 — my recipe is to enjoy this, dip the meat in soy sauce first, then grilled it around 15 secs to get medium rare textures and eat while its hot... wow🤩 or you can try their advise with 1min of grilling. Overall, would love to comeback here!!

Been looking forward to this day. We’re finally here. Food is amazing. Exactly how the reviews are and all that. Definitely a must try when you get to japan 🇯🇵. Quality of the service is definitely exceptional as well. What else can I say?... it’s time for me to eat and eat and eat🤤

  • 5/5 Justin & C. 4 years ago on Google
Highly recommend this place!! The meat is so tender and fatty (in a perfectly delicious way 🤤) and I had loads of fun barbecuing my own slices. 30 seconds on each side was what was recommended to me and it was cooked perfectly for my tastebuds!! Definitely MUST try if you are in the neighborhood!

  • 5/5 Yudhie W. 5 years ago on Google
The beef katsu is delicious, available in 130 gram and 260 gram. Fair price. Limited seat, but fast staff response. The meat is cooked in medium-medium rare doneness, but hot stone is available, you can grill them to your liking. The garlic sauce is great. And there is lemon dressing for the salad provided.

  • 5/5 Paul 4 years ago on Google
Beef is wonderful and the cooking experience is not demanding or tedious. Many different sauces included, yam sauce is a cheap extra though (must try). Service is impeccable and staff care about your experience.
