Came on a warm and sunny Saturday summers day - it wasn't too busy, though there were quite a few people. It's basically a nice Forrest trail. My kids enjoyed it as they could find numerous bugs - they found rhino beetles, stag bettles and smaller beetles. Quite a few people taking pictures of butterfly and dragon flies. Overall it's a nice walk. 320 yen entry for adults and kids are free.

Nice park with lots of greenery in Tokyo. Great for a back to nature trip. The park will turn brown and red come late autumn with a very different ambience

Nice place for escaping Tokyo concrete streets. Expected more something like botanical garden but it was more just like a small natural piece of forest, nice and peaceful but nothing really special in terms of views or blooming flowers

Great park in the midst of Tokyo. Enjoyed bird watching there. Highly recommended for Tokyoites who are seeking nature as well as for tourists.

Wonderful natural setting, great place to remove yourself from the city. Follow the "Nature..." signs to the proper location from the Station. There is a beautiful garden you come to prior to reaching this place. At first I thought the Japanese garden was this location and visited it first, just kind of stumbled upon this. Both are well worth the visit.

Quite a nice place for a stroll. We walked very slow observing the nature and stayed around 1h - 1.5h. Though it was a hot summer day of 32℃, the trees covered the light so it felt much cooler :) There are nice benches too so you can take your kids there and have lunch box probably ☺️ Entrance fee is ¥320 for an adult.

Sort of oasis in the metropolis. Kingfisher is very much highlighted in the park. Great place to roam around.

This is a nice place to walk around the trees in the middle of Tokyo. There were lots of families having picnics and serious birders with big lenses taking photos of a bright blue bird.

Good place for getting away from center in Tokyo. But there is nothing special for plants and birds. I guess less visitors usually come there, I mean here is not farmous spot, so if you walk slowly in garden with less people, you should go there.

For people who love botanic gardens or natural forest, finding a nature reserve can be rather difficult in metropolitans, but visitors and residents can find a huge nature reserve in the heart of Tokyo, and it is Institute of Nature Study, which is actually a national reserve, quite like a large forest park. This nature reserve is located near Megura Station in the center of Tokyo. Institute of Nature Study was formerly an estate of noble and then imperial family from 500 years ago and it is open to the public in 1949. It is an ideal place for lovers of bird-watch, trees and flowers, and natural trails. But it is also an excellent educational ground for showing young students about nature. This forest reserve has pond, marsh, grass lands, pine and oak forest, in addition to plant gardens. The nature reserve has various wooden posting signs to explain how tree-leave color changes, soil use, and other natural elements which affect our life and our earth. Entrance fee is $320 Yen for adults, but free for seniors over 65 years old and for high-school students and younger.

A small forest in the middle of Tokyo, this lovely park offers a nice nature experience for those who want to enjoy sone greenery without leaving the big city. The path leads to different woods and ponds where visitors are able to see native trees, plants, insects and birds. The koyo season (autumn leaves) is a great time to visit, with momiji trees scattered all over the park. Entrance fee: ¥320 per adult.

A great place if you need to take a break from the city but don't have the time to actually go hiking. Very nice momiji colours in the autumn (best bring your long lens for these!) It takes about 1.5h to walk around the park (you can only walk on paths). There are no great views but it's enough to get a "Nature fix" because the plants have a "wild" look about them and there are no vending machines or shops apart from the ones at the exit/entrance. If you plan on having a picnic, there are benches and toilets in various places around the park but no thrash cans. The paths are not paved and can get muddy after the rain.

Great park! Has a few ponds, ducks, trees, plants, weed. what else do you need? wasn't so crowded even on a nice fall sunday. i would recommend this place to grab a book to read or have onigiri in.

My first experience of shinrin-yoku. Its in the city, though you can see and hear the city is some part of the forest, its still a great experience and reminds you of the stark city hustle-forest peace contrast. Trees planted in 1950 stand tall and strong. We got to see Eastern Spot Billed Duck and several turtles. Entry fee is 310yen/ head and the trail takes 45mins to 1 hr but we spent about 4 hours. We went with a toddler and it was very safe. Prams may be difficult to use in some parts.

Beautiful piece of preserved marshland in the middle of Tokyo to show the public what the city used to look like - great way to see new plants and animals!
