🏣Shuzenji Onsen Town, Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture 🚃⇒🚏🚌Walk around the sightseeing spots from Shuzenji Station * It is said to be the oldest hot spring on the Izu Peninsula. * Shuzenji Temple is said to have been opened by Kobo Daishi during the Heian period (807 AD) ``For a boy who washed his sick father's body in the riverbed.'' Legend has it that when Kobo Daishi used a tokko to break a rock, hot water gushed out from it. Apparently there is. * Shuzenji Onsen is where literary figures such as Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Momiji Ozaki, Kyoka Izumi, Natsume Soseki, Yasunari Kawabata, Kido Okamoto, Masuji Ibuse, and painters such as Taikan Yokoyama spent their time. There are many inns including Arai Ryokan (designated as a cultural property). * You can enjoy a calm stroll around Shuzenji Temple, the Katsuragawa Promenade, the bamboo forest path, Minamoto no Yoriie's grave, Shizukiden, Hie Shrine, etc.

A stamp rally was being held at the Taiga Drama event. It was a sunny day and a perfect day for cold sweets 🌞 "Honey Bee Workshop🐝Hana no Michi" The soft serve ice cream with honey was delicious! I enjoyed walking around Shuzenji, admiring the soothing sound of the clear Katsura River flowing along the hot springs, and the beauty of the fresh greenery, while touring the historical buildings and getting a feel for the atmosphere. The souvenir shops are also fun to look at, each with their own individuality. At the end of our walk, we stopped at Hakoyu and took a bath. The bathtub is made of cypress and has a nice bath♨️ The river breeze when I went outside after taking a bath felt so good! 😆 If you are coming by public transportation, it is convenient to use the tourist information center inside Shuzenji Station.

A hot spring town that has long been representative of Izu and is a great place for a day trip or overnight stay. However, it cannot be denied that the number of customers has decreased due to the Izu traversing road, and the business atmosphere is not as relaxed as in the countryside. Even if you decide to stop by for a while, there are no free parking lots, so even though there are good shops, some people don't want to pay to park and slip, so some people just pass by. It's good for a walk and recommended for a stop. I think it would be easier to stop by if there was a free parking lot.

Every time I visit, new shops open, I think it's a lively tourist destination. I could really sense the enthusiasm of all the staff at the existing stores to liven up the tourist destination, and I would like to visit them again.

(Translated by Google) It was an atmospheric place. Impression that there were many shops with a strong business spirit even in Izu I let my guard down and casually entered a nearby honey shop, and when I was looking at the products, I was bombarded with sales talk from the shop that came out like a machine gun. I think I was caught for about 20 minutes. I'm tired.

(Translated by Google) A hot spring town where you can feel the atmosphere of good old Japan. The footbath in the gazebo on the bamboo grove is impressive. It might be fun to get off the main street for a bit. (Original) 古き良き日本の風情を感じさせる温泉街。 竹林の並木道に東屋にある足湯が印象的。 メイン通りを少し外れるのも楽しいかも知れない。

"Shuzenji Onsen", known as Izu's Little Kyoto, has once again attracted attention due to the popularity of the Japanese drama "The Monthly Salary Wife" a few years ago (it was the filming location for the hero and heroine's wedding trip). Stroll through the two-Michelin-starred bamboo forest path and pass by the maple bridge, From Katsura Bridge, Kawara Onsen (foot bath), Toko no Yu to Shuzenji Temple, the Katsura River has red maples along the way, and every corner is like an oil painting-like scenery. It’s no wonder that so many people in love are attracted here. Honeymoon. The "Shuzenji Onsen", known as Izu's Little Kyoto, has received renewed attention due to the popularity of a Japanese drama a few years ago (as a filming location for the hero and heroine's newlywed trip). It is no wonder that so many lovers come here for their honeymoon.

The goshuin stamps and the cute fortune telling fortunes were different from other shrines and made me laugh. Cat fishing and carp fishing cost 500 yen, which is a bit expensive.

Just a short visit for 3 hours. Definitely worth to spend 2D1N and explore around. Can't wait to visit there again.

I think it's best not to expect too much. I feel like my name is the only thing that makes me famous. Is it an old-fashioned hot spring town? It's also small scale.

Shutenji Temple is very peaceful and there are not many tourists. Wasabi is produced nearby, namely WASABI. The wasabi cakes bought at the shop next to Shudenji Temple are very delicious, and I also bought wasabi salt. Wasabi fries are also great if you treat your friends to them. The cherry blossoms have just begun to bloom in front of the temple. Next time I have the opportunity, I will stay here for one night and slowly visit nearby attractions.
