Probably the best cafe in Tokyo that I’ve been to. The coffee, atmosphere, people, music and location. I feel so at home here. Beans are from Padre Coffee (Australia) and my favorite is their latte paired with the cardamom bun. I love that it’s a warm and cozy spot where you can end staying for hours talking to the owner, who is Australian, baristas and new folks. Mia Mia in the evening is very different, it turns into a bar and has really fun vibes. Unlike the spots you see in central Tokyo, this place encourages you to connect with other customers, which is amazing and we need more spots like Mia Mia.

Once we made an order with Uber Eats just out of curiosity, because we rarely encountered sourdough bread in Tokyo. And after that our romance with MIA MIA has begun. The bread is made with utmost care. Sandwiches are always fresh and tasty. Because we order rather often, staff remember us and write lovely notes with each order, which makes the whole experience very pleasant.

Third wave is the best wave. Learn more by chatting with the gregarious Australian owner of this charming cafe who was also a coffee writer for years. He is connected to coffee culture in tokyo in a deep way and has a line of coffee-themed handkerchiefs and other items. They are available in the cafe and the full line is available online. Such a friendly crew at MIA MIA. No AC but I didn’t even notice so come sit and enjoy.

This coffee shop is a gem! Besides the good pastries & coffee they serve, the warmth from their friendly staff & the overall homey atmosphere is what makes this place so special. Much love ❤️

The service is top notch and the environment of the neighborhood (and this shop) is the main selling point for me. I think the layout and the menu are slightly chaotic, and I wish the beans they sold were a little more affordable and listed the roasting date instead of "best by" date, but otherwise the small snack and coffee I had were both solid. I guess sandwiches and other things come around lunch time, but I was there early. Extra thanks for proving parking space for my bike 🏍️

Amazing coffee shop. The brand are imported from Australia. The staff is friendly. Baked goods from bakery Vaner are available, too. I would highly recommended this place to anyone.

The other reviews are all true, this place is a special gem in the Tokyo cafe scene. Ask the owner to play Yamashita Tatsuro’s ‘For You’ and the whole atmosphere changes with smiling faces all round. An amazing spot that, in only six months since opening, has become one of the best coffee shops in Tokyo.

Nice. Cool, relaxed, friendly and outgoing Australian owner, attracts alternative, outgoing and curious people. Stucked away in a quite corner of Tokyo with a Bohemian vibe. Nice..

Worth the bike ride from Chiba for a morning cuppa! Their flat white, cappuccino and latte’s are heavenly. Another nice thing is that these guys open at 8am.

my favorite local coffee shop in Tokyo, I make it a point to stop by several times whenever I’m in town. Every staff member I’ve interacted with here has been extremely welcoming and kind even though I don’t know Japanese. The “Nice Latte” is great and the bread/baked goods are always delicious (I’ve heard they’re sourced from other local businesses, so makes sense)!

I can't express the precious, priceless, wondrous quality of time spent here: Art is not made of crayons or paint, canvas or ink, but made from the soul of humanity. Here coffee and snacks are made in the same caring, beautiful, expressive way. And friendships too! All are made of the simplest and purest stuff, expertly crafted for taste impressions & memories to last a lifetime. Edible, drinkable, huggable, lovable, memorable works of art. Humanity refined and perfected. BIG LOVE! (as they say) There is no tipping culture in Japan as we have in America, but I found myself wanting to pay 2x from gratitude. The place is not low-budget, honestly a bit premium. Yet you'll find the experience of this place and its people, worth far more than the money you'll pay. When I return to Japan, I'll hurry back to Mia Mia (Coffee Time) Café.

Because I am an awkward duckling, I assumed because there were people outside , they were waiting to get in. No they were waiting for their take out orders. Neither here nor there. The coffee was excellent, I had the Guatemala roast and Oats Latte. The employees were an enthusiastic group and happy to make suggestions, the pretentiousness that is present at some coffee spots is not an issue here. Two thumbs up overall.

Fantastic coffee shop! Great atmosphere, awesome coffee, toast and cakes. Vaughan was a fantastic host and showed us a few local shops and owners, thanks. Really friendly, wished we were in the area longer as would have loved to have visited it in the evening when it was a bar.

I go to cafes to work in both the US and Japan pretty often and this is my favorite cafe I've ever been to! Everybody working here is nice to talk to, and there is a wonderful feeling of international community here every day (I'm here now!) Definitely recommend taking a trip to Toshima to visit. The cafe is about a 1-2 minute walk from Higashi-Nagasaki station.

Very characteristic coffee and culture shop in Higashinagasaki. Customers really love it thus quite crowded always, that’s the only problem.

Vaughan and the staff were great, always ready with Japanese puns. The coffee is wonderful but the warmth of the staff makes everything that much more special.
